Joey Barton Having Medical At QPR

It seems that Joey Barton, as we had expected earlier today, is leaving Newcastle.

Joey Barton – bye bye Newcastle

He has just tweeted that he doesn’t want to leave Newcastle,  but with not being offered a new contract his hands are tied.

This is what Joey said on his twitter account a few moments ago.

Don’t want to leave Newcastle……..I’ve made that clear but my hands are tied.

Going for a medical now, still no contract offer from NUFC……. think that just about makes my mind up.

Joey was always in a  difficult position with just one year left on his Newcastle contract, as he wants to get some security for his future in football.

When we heard the news this morning that he was speaking to the London club, it seemed that he would be offered a decent contract by them since they have money to spend, and if that happened, Joey would have little choice but to accept it.

It seems that both West Ham and Stoke City tried to get Joey today too, but we expect the contract Joey was offered by QPR to be one he could hardly turn down.

In his tweets he’s making it clear he has had no contract offer from the Newcastle club, and he seems to be even hinting he would like one.

We would have loved for Joey to stay for this season, because he is a proven Premier League class player, but it was not to be.

Unfortunately, that means that of the five players Alan Pardew  wanted to have Newcastle sign on long term contracts in mid-January, only one remains at the club – Cheick Tiote.

Andy Carroll, Kevin Nolan, Jose Enrique and Joey have all left, assuming Joey passes the medical tonight and signs the contract. Those are four of Newcastle’s  very best players of the last two seasons.

It will be very interesting to see if  Newcastle replace Joey Barton in the one week left in the transfer window.

Comments welcome.

This is ashleys grudge and should put money into the club to compensate loosing a player with a substantial market value for nothing just because he doesnt like him.

But we all know that wont happen….cant even replace a player we recieved 35 million pounds for.

moved from previous article as more relevant here:

Sad sad day if JB signs for mincers park

Firstly because we lose a player who never gives up and can push a team forwards.

Secondly because by signing a contract with QPR hes showing just marginally more ambition than Nolan, and I thought he was better than that.

If JB stayed he would still be on a free next summer, mincers park would prob go down, and his mates at Jazz Mag FC would probably have been promoted and he could go there with his head held high all round.

Barton not doing himself any favours with these contract Tweets. There was a contract offer Joey – you refused to sign it. Simple.

Although i would have been more distraught if this happened 2 games ago.

Would have thought his desire would be invaluable but Cabaye ran more than any other player in the derby and looks like a little battler, so seems we will still have the character to our side.

Hope there is a riot on Sunday and SOMEONE gives it to Pardew and Ashley…

Against Arsenal and Sunderland 0 points without Barton.

I think the lad is a prick, but he gets the team playing.

Cannot replace fight and passion with anything but fight and passion. JB has it all passion, ability and skill,

@ Thump – agree – am gutted in equal measures about losing the player – and the player spinning lines.

And before anyone asks would I leave one employer for another over money – no. During the recession I all bar one of my colleagues took voluntary pay cuts to stay where we were.

THE REASON NO TOP TEAM BOUGHT BARTON ISNT FOOTBALL RELATED.. BARTON IS ONE OF THE BEST ENGLISH MIDFIELDERS BAR GERRARD LAMPARD AND WHILSHERE.

WE WILL PLAY LIKE ARSENAL (GRITLESS) JUST WITHOUT THE ABILITY OF THEIR PLAYERS.. WE WILL FINISH 12-15 I GUESS WHICH IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR A CLUB LIKE NEWCASTLE

Its pretty obvious that Pardew wants Barton in the club. Because Barton is a very good player with his grit and fiery spirit. He was the reason for our 4-4 comeback. His steely determination. We are going to miss all that.

As much as Pardew likes Barton and wants him to stay, Fat Cashley calls the shot and wants Barton out. Simple.

I tend too agree that we are building a better team my only problem is, is that our team is getting smaller and smaller.

Last year we had Smith,Guthrie playing this year we have Shola and Raylor starting our squad was small last year now its ridiculous.

Barton might not fit the new plan of flair and pace but he was a quality squad player of which we have very few.

Barton must be replaced as well as our other well documented positions and we will be good this season if not we have`nt the depth to cope and well things will be bad mid-season etc.

and davybtoon- how do you know cabaye will be better than nolan? nolan scored last year more than any other midfielder in the league.. if cabaye will score 6 we will be delighted…

about gosling- he looked great in pre season.. but to suggest he is gonna be better this year than barton is just crazy

Sorry about last post my keyboard isnt working properly, the most annoying thing about this transfer is that he wants to stay and will take a pay cut, exactly the player we want and a playere who is worth millions but we are giving him away, its rediciolas what happened to this great club.
