Newcastle Draw Nottingham Forest Away In Carling Cup

Newcastle have drawn Nottingham Forest away in the third round the Carling Cup.

Nottingham Forest, under new manager Steve McClaren, have had a poor start to the season, with their defense looking very porous, so while this is not the worst draw for Newcastle, it will not be easy either.

In their four games in the Championship so far, Forest have won one, drawn two and lost one and lie in 12th place

The full draw is as follows:

Cardiff City v Leicester City
Wolves v Millwall
Chelsea v Fulham
Aldershot Town or Carlisle United v Rochdale
Arsenal v Shrewsbury Town
Burnley v MK Dons
Leeds United v Manchester United
Brighton v Liverpool
Nottingham Forest v Newcastle United
Manchester City v Birmingham City
Blackburn Rovers v Leyton Orient or Bristol Rovers
Swindon Town or Southampton v Charlton or Preston North End
Everton v West Brom
Crystal Palace or Wigan v Middlesbrough
Aston Villa v Bolton Wanderers
Stoke City v Tottenham Hotspur

I am depressed if we don’t sign anyone by tomorrow then I doubt we will get anyone or they’ll bid for a top player which will be rejected

Quite a good draw a lot of EPL clubs have been drawn against each other, always good to see in my eyes. Leeds – Man U should be tasty

In this trophy dream it was the carling cup instead of us winning the league with a strolla bicycle kick screamer at old tractors on the final day, we were playing arsenal and squeaked a 1 to nil win with McLoven getting a header off a corner

Lol the only dream i can remember having about Newcastle was when we got relegated i had a dream that it was the last match of the season and we were at Watford away. We had to win to get into the top two and Lovenkrands scored a 90th minute winner from 35 yards out into the top right corner of the goal.

Petrov and Delph doing well for Villa, lots of movement and runs to the opposition box. This is what we lack IMO. I have high hopes for Tiote-Cabaye but neither is too keen on joining the attack.

    Nottsgeordie,

Thats the problem with being high profile, people are jealous and will start, I don`t expect anyone to be recluse because of who they are.

If he started then fair enough he is a di#k but if not what else could he do?

Have the wolves ever played a game that wasn’t just down right ugly…. They are a fouling scrappy clod kicking bunch aye, they love to just kick the shite outta the ball and the other teams players, it’s like they come out in a defensive shell as they get off the bus
