Newcastle’s 20 year-old striker Nile Ranger has been arrested after he supposedly broke the jaw of a man during a night out in Newcastle.
Nile Ranger – arrested and being questioned by Police
The Londoner is now being questioned by by police following the attack, which was outside Cosy Joe’s bar, in the Groat Market.
The 33-year-old man, whose jaw was broken was found unconscious in the street by police after the supposed attack, and he was immediately taken to hospital.
Nile Ranger, who is on the transfer list at Newcastle, was arrested soon after the man was found, and is being questioned by police.
The news is being reported in the local Newcastle Journal, and of course this will do absolutely nothing for Nile’s career on Tyneside, which already seemed to be over.
Nile had trouble at Southampton before he arrived at the Newcastle club back in August of 2008, but he seemed to curb his ways and often said the move to Newcastle had saved him from a life of crime.
But the lad seems to have slid backwards into his old ways over the last few months, and this is not good news for anybody, including Newcastle United.
And it seems Alan Pardew lost confidence in the lad this summer after he was seen to be photographed with a gun in his hand dressed up as a gangster, and maybe that, plus his poor professionalism at Newcastle caused Pardew to give up on the boy.
Chris Hughton at Birmingham is trying to do a deal for the 20 year-old but we have no idea if that deal will no go through.
We will not comment on this case, but if he’s in trouble again, Nile has been a silly lad, and he seems on a course that will not take advantage of the fine football skills he’s been blessed with.
But it takes more than just skills to become a top class professional footballer, as we all know.
