The Daily Mail is reporting that Papiss Demba Cisse’s move to Newcastle has fallen through.
Papiss Demba Cisse – Newcastle end interest?
The chances of Newcastle pulling off this deal were never bright, although they did go in with a reported £10M offer for the Senegal striker on Monday.
The Freiburg club rejected that £10million offer from Newcastle and boss Alan Pardew seems to have now ended his interest in the top striker.
We suppose Newcastle will now bid again for Sochaux striker Modibo Maiga, although the chances of doing that deal seem equally small, with Sochaux understandably unwilling to sell, unless they can get a replacement in today.
If Newcastle miss out on these two strikers there was news earlier today that they may bid £5M for Genk and Belgium International striker, 23 year-old Marvin Ogunjimi.
That news was also reported by the Daily Mail, and we’re not sure if there is much truth in the report, but it would appear that Marvin was low down on the totem pole.
If Newcastle’s bids for their striker targets are not successful today, we suppose Newcastle will wrap up a season long loan deal for 20 year-old Italian striker Frederico Macheda from Manchester United.
But Newcastle should really have brought in another permanent striker during this transfer window to replace the departed Andy Carroll, and that player should have been good enough to wear that famous number 9 Newcastle shirt.
Comments welcome.

Totally agree! He’s exactly the type of player we need. Can’t let him go to dour Fulham. The completion of the deal is suspiciously dragging…

Comment #620It looks like it’s another window of opportunity that is going to pass by without us doing the necessary business required to “push on” and progress. We have a few hours left to pull something out the bag but if we have left it this late it just goes to show that MA was not willing to back Carr’s recommendations and Pardew’s needs for squad strengthening.
If we have to muddle through to January just bear in mind what Delboy said about the January window …”it’s positively the worst time to buy”.
Patsy is doing a sterling job but he is yet another manager who is being let down by the tightarsery from above.

Comment #626solano man… pay 80 quid a game and then we can throw money about and not look at trying to do decent deals. otherwise stop talking sh ite. our income as a club mean we have to try making decent deals. the cost of players is daft and always has been recently. stop ya negger attitude lol.

Comment #629Joppa….”stop my ambitious attitude” you mean?? Howay, kidda, if we were willing to back our so-called genius Chief Scout and bid the going rate to enact a release clause then the little bit extra spent on a top target could be re-couped by a higher finish in the table and more Sky money. Can’t you see that? Instead we are chasing desperately for players well down the shopping list and it looks like another transfer window profit. That “bitter old man” Kevin Keegan seems to have been right, again.

The unwashed signed a deal with the championship for next season and they are hoping to not ever play against Newcastle because they are tired of getting their ass kicked.
In other news, Jonas was seen shopping for a new fist to match his beard for this season as he is tired of his Spanish speaking old fist.
And last but not least, Carroll said he is tired of football and wants to be an actor. His agent said “we have already found the perfect first role for Andy. He will be playing Judas in the upcoming Broadway show – ‘I am a traitor’, coming this fall”.

Comment #631Get Ruiz! Been on here waxing lyrical about him many times before!
It is typical of us that we let another club jump in for him before we can! Our lot seem to be walking around with their heads up their arses as far as regards signing a decent striker!
Please god don,t let us sign the Crouch potatoe from the Spuds or Carlton bloody Cole either!!!!!!
Roux, i,d be happy with! or Ruiz also but none of th above!
