LLambias To Announce Andy Carroll Cash Will Be Reinvested?

A little hint from Newcastle manager Alan Pardew today, that there will be some news coming soon from Derek LLambias on a financial matter.

Ashley and LLambias – will they reinvest the £35M?

We hope that last Thursday Alan Pardew was able to show Mike Ashley and Derek LLambias that Newcastle fans feel completely let down by the Andy Carroll sale, because we lost a top local player, and none of that cash has been spent, at least not yet.

But this is what Alan said today:

“The people who feel let down are the fans. “They pay their money and they feel what they are being promised is not being fulfilled.”

“I think from that point of view, all I can say is that Derek Llambias will be giving some financial news.

“The money that we got from Andy is going back into the club, but obviously a big chunk of it hasn’t been spent yet.”

The transfer spend over the summer was a net zero, and even Derek LLambias has not tried to defend the fact lately that Newcastle have simply not spent any of the money from the sale of Andy Carroll, after they said they would do just that last February.

But it seems that Derek LLambias will be announcing something soon, according to Alan, and we hope it will be that the club will reinvest that money fully, and open the purse strings this January, so Newcastle can sign some top players.

Here’s hoping it’s something good.

What do you think it could be?

Excuses might sound better if it wasn’t just another typical nufc window- which had been predicted by every man and their dog. Profit turned, key players out – replaced on the cheap by non-goalscorers with injury issues.

Gambling when everyone else is building. Don’t tell me,,, Ben Arfa is like a new signing – and will score every week.

I’ll believe it when I see the new players running out on the pitch in the black & white jersey…. until then I will never believe anything that comes out of FCB (not that he ever talks to the fans!) and his accomplice Llambias mouths!!! I feel very sorry for Pard’s in all this as i’ve grown to like him now even though he was way down my list as a replacement manager. It’s always like he’s thrown to the lions every time things go wrong and personally I think given what he’s having to deal with he’s doing a good job.

I wonder if Bills Son will eat hay with a mackem donkey if they don’t reinvest the 35m in January-oh dear, here we go again.

By the way Bills I hope you’re reading and hungry I have something that may interest you…

    bills-son // Mar 1, 2011 at 12:33 PM

What KK has said is absolutely irrelevant, based on hatred of MA not facts and therefore not worth paying any attention to.

I’m certain MA will spend at least £20M on fees in the summer + some decent wages. I’ll heat hay with a Mackem donkey if he doesn’t.

    39 bills-son // Mar 1, 2011 at 12:35 PM

Tell you what … I’ll not only heat the hay … I’ll fn eat it as well.

If the starving Mackem bstad doesn’t wolf it down first that is.

—–no more denying it Bills Son you were wrong-MA didn’t invest any of the 35m let alone 20m ‘on fees’ + decent wages. Funny how you’ve manouvred your view into something else now and still defend MA’s transfer policies despite what must be a huge let down for you after your above assurances. OR was i right when I suggested that its more about the BlogFather Bills son being right and more knowledgable than everyone else on this blog-such is his often obnoxious tone. Tit, you’ve been found out.

If Ashley/Lambias went out and spent 20 mill. of the Carroll money in the January window (just to keep the fans at bay) it would still leave around £22 mill. unspent. They’d then probably go and sell around £25 mill. worth of players (Tiote? Jonas. Colo?) and then buy next to nothing in the next mid season window.
They’ll have around £47mill balance and he’ll fob the fans off again with around £7mill. worth of talented/injured possible stars and freebies still retaining a bucket full of cash…. and so it goes on… and on….

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, dragging something up from 4 months ago is a waste of time.

As for the financial news, I doubt that for one minute we will announce that we have 35 million to spend, it would mean the transfer fee of every target being doubled. I just hope they publicly promise to invest in the playing staff. For those that continue to support the club, if there is no ambition to compete at the top level, then stop charging us prices for season tickets that mirror the top clubs.

I assume you’re referring to me showing Bills Son up with his own words-i suggest you don’t comment on things that you don’t seem to be fully aware of-Bills Son denied saying these words and asked me to provide evidence-that is why I dragged something up from four months ago-unllike most football fans i have a good strong and accurate memory, not a selective one.

    nden and Munster

I’ve even been called a Mackem by Felipe and Joppadoni for predicting that the money wouldn’t be spent, predictions that I based on history and fact, the likes of Bills Son, Davybtoon etc. all put their necks out and insisted the money would be spent based upon mere hope and fantasy and now they shimmy away from their own past words and alter their viewpoints so that they can avoid looking like mugs and still support Ashley disgusting how far peopple will go to win an argument-to think I was willing to hold my hands up if I was wrong but alas, here we are with a paper thin squad and no goalscoring number 9. When will these fans realise-opposing Mike Ashley is not opposing NUFC and quit finding ways in which to defend him and call it ‘loyalty’.

If Dekka announces that the money will be spent, then a) watch very carefully how he words this (remember he said “will stay in the club” not “will be spent on the team”) b) he is deliberately shooting himself in the foot, since selling clubs will know how much he has to spend and c) I still would not believe him.

That is the problem when you have been publicly outed as being prone to the odd inaccuracy – no one will believe anything you say.

The amount of money that will get spent in January, out of the £35m, will be a sum very similar to the amount we receive from selling our best players.

    From my understanding, we sold:

    Carroll – £35m
    Nolan – £3.5m
    Routy – £2m
    Jose – £5.5m
    Barton – Free

    Total – £46m

    We brought:

    Cabaye – £4.5m
    Obertan – £3m
    Santon – £5m
    Elliot – £300k
    Ba – Free (Reported £2m Agent Fee’s)
    Marv – Free
    Abeid – Free

So thats £approx £15m yeah.. so that £31m surplus profit, you then have to take into account paying off Campbell & Kuqi contracts early, Tiote’s new improved contract, making HBA’s contract permanent, paying agents fee’s & signing on fee’s for the players this summer…. all the above & I’ve not included the wages because the way I see it, they have probably evened themselves out….

So £46m in, £15m plus all the other stuff I’ve listed, I’d say we’d have around £20m in the warchest, for which I remember Llambias actually saying that some would be kept back for the Jan transfer window, so what the problem….

The problem is, the majority of yous wanted Ashley to spend all the money we got for players, ie £45m on replacing the players we sold, then on top of that pay there agents fee’s, signing on fee’s & wages… the majority of you all seem to think that our clubs revenue is so fraking high that we’re able to compete with team like Cessepool, Spurts, Vile, etc when it come to buying players…. maybe we would be able to if our ST & match day ticket prices were comparable but they’re not, we pay a hell of a lot less, which means a lot less revenue for the club but don’t let that worry you, Ashley will pay for it all & not want any of it back…. wake the frak up!!!

If I remember right, the game was on TV and would have sent a message around the world about MA. I genuinely think that if Liverpool fans had been shafted like that, their politicized nature would have seen them organised and boycotting straight away.

Llambias ought to be sacked. It is Pardew and the scouting team’s job to identify players – this was clearly done and done fairly well judging by the players we have managed to sign.

It was Ashley’s job to stump up the cash. You can argue that he didn’t do this sufficiently although the fact we made a £10-12m bid for Cisse and Ruiz shows that the money was there for the right player. Regardless, he owns the club and I think it’s become perfectly clear that he’s not going anywhere.

But Llambias was the main person responsible for closing deals and he failed abjectly in using the money that was there to close a deal for a centre forward. You could argue that we were being held to ransom for a striker but then what his excuse for missing out on Situ to Swansea of all teams! His haggling over agent’s fees costs us several players over the course of the summer. It’s clear from this that he is a terrible negotiator.

Aside form this issue, what has he done to build the commercial side of the club? Aside from a few commercial deals with Sports Direct, which can’t have been too difficult for him to arrange, not to mention that they trod all over the club’s fine heritage in arranging them, he has made little to no progress in building the brand of the club. If anything, his failure to communicate with the fans has led to a apathy which has seen attendances at SJP drop from where they were when Ashley took over. Why? Were we a much better side then? No. It is the club’s failed policies and by any measure, Llambias has failed at almost every task he is supposed to administer.

Send him back to the casino.

Solaidback @21 ….Kuqi and Campbell weren’t “paid off” early at all! Get your facts right before you do your pseudo-accountancy work. The club even tried to defame Sol Campbell by accusing him of being greedy when he was actually under contract! That is the measure of the regime we have had for the last 4 years – they are like gangsters the way they conduct their business.
(For the record, Sol Campbell’s legs had gone by the time he arrived at SJP but that shuld not take away what a thoroughly good professional he was and his reputation as one of the very best centre-halves this country has seen in the last 20years)

Didn’t Llambias say that the money had been invested due to cost of wages and agents fees etc?

If that’s the case then he’s either lying now or was lying then!

I’ll not complain if we do spend £35m on some cracking players in the next window but I can’t see it happening.

Come January they will sell Tiote for something like £20m-£25m and then spend £10m on a new striker.

We will always be one step behind unless we, the fans show them we cannot be made mugs of time and time again.

All credit to Pardew – he’s targeted players who are hungry, improve the squad and are not asking for the earth.
I’d rather watch this lot than the bunch of overpaid tossers who got us relegated – Best and Ba put more into one game than Owen and Viduka put into a whole season.
And on the brightside is that the 35 million is in the bank earning interest – should pay the for huge agent fees……..
