A little hint from Newcastle manager Alan Pardew today, that there will be some news coming soon from Derek LLambias on a financial matter.
Ashley and LLambias – will they reinvest the £35M?
We hope that last Thursday Alan Pardew was able to show Mike Ashley and Derek LLambias that Newcastle fans feel completely let down by the Andy Carroll sale, because we lost a top local player, and none of that cash has been spent, at least not yet.
But this is what Alan said today:
“The people who feel let down are the fans. “They pay their money and they feel what they are being promised is not being fulfilled.”
“I think from that point of view, all I can say is that Derek Llambias will be giving some financial news.
“The money that we got from Andy is going back into the club, but obviously a big chunk of it hasn’t been spent yet.”
The transfer spend over the summer was a net zero, and even Derek LLambias has not tried to defend the fact lately that Newcastle have simply not spent any of the money from the sale of Andy Carroll, after they said they would do just that last February.
But it seems that Derek LLambias will be announcing something soon, according to Alan, and we hope it will be that the club will reinvest that money fully, and open the purse strings this January, so Newcastle can sign some top players.
Here’s hoping it’s something good.
What do you think it could be?

Comment #42think january transfers are always risky, clubs removing players who did not perform in first 6 months of season etc and hard to integrate players when season is already under way
if (IF) we did get all 35mil, invest say 10mil on quality striker and keep rest till next summer
or get in a loan deal with a 10-15mil purchase option in summer

Comment #43GoalsBringSmiles – you just prove how blinkered and bigoted you are again and again.
You and Solano have gone on and on and on saying I said we would spend £35M – WRONG, WRONG, WRONG – as you yourself have now proved.
I said £20M and I admitted on the DAY AFTER the transfer deadline I was wrong AND said there were no excuses acceptable frrom Ashley for not signing a striker.
Read what is in front of your eyes not what you want to read between the lines pal.

I’m not your pal, pal. Is this the best response you can come up with? How consistently you turn your own shortcomings around on others. What I have proven is that you need to eat hay with a mackem donkey as promised…we haven’t spent 20m on player fees in fact we haven’t spent anything net on player fees so you were massively wrong and your not even man enough to admit that you are due a good sheaf of hay for tea tonight nom nom bills son i hope mrs bill can cook…

Comment #48“I’m certain MA will spend at least £20M on fees in the summer + some decent wages. I’ll heat hay with a Mackem donkey if he doesn’t.”
Indelibly indeniable.
