Newcastle Interested In Congo Midfielder

News today that Newcastle have been interested in 23 year-old Auxerre midfielder Delvin Ndinga, and may still be  interested

Delvin Ndinga – Newcastle interested in player?

Apparently the Auxerre midfielder attracted interest from at least three Premier League clubs in the summer, according to the player himself, and one of them was Newcastle United.

The four times capped Congo International has this to say today:

“I preferred to stay in Ligue 1 for this season,”

“I had contact with many foreign clubs like Tottenham, Newcastle and Sevilla and they requested information about me.

“Some made offers but we decided to stop the subject for a year. First I want to prove my worth in the French league.”

Ndinga was for sale in the summer, as Auxerre were ready to sell him so they could reinforce their side in other positions, but the Pointe Noire, Congo born player was obviously keen to stay in France.

But the 5’11” tall player seems to be willing to move at some point, and perhaps even in January.

And we would hope, after the calamitous disaster on August 31st, when Newcastle failed to get in a top striker, that the Tyneside club might bring in as many as three players to fortify the squad in January.

We hope that happens, but we’re not going our breath on that either.

Ndinga began his career back in 2002 with CNFF and joined Congo club Diables Noirs in 2003, and stayed a couple of years before joining Auxerre in July of 2005.

He played for Auxerre B for two seasons (57 appearances and three goals), before playing for the first team from 2007.

He has since played over 60 times for the Auxerre first team with one goal.

    “Requested information”.

Considering our intention to spend every penny of our 35m budget, I’d like to think we requested information about thousands of players.

Although I’m always happy to see new young players arrive at the club another midfielder is not an area we desperately need to strengthen. It’s very clear we need a new CB and a Striker ASAP!!!!! With only Colo and Taylor being fit, one major injury and where screwed!!!

Instead of concentrating his efforts on France and french football why doesnt Carr get his fat arse out to Africa and cut ot the middle man ?

In the recent U20 world cup Nigeria topped their group with nine points while England limped in with three. They then beat us in the next round winning 1-0 only to lose in extra time to France.

Africa is the home of quality young players looking for a way out of their relatively dismal lives. English youngsters have got their consoles, Facebook, iphones and TV and cant be arsed !
