Shola Ameobi And Ryan Taylor Start For Newcastle

Shola Ameobi comes back into the starting line-up tonight at Loftus Road, and partners in-form Leon Best up front, with Newcastle playing in an attacking 4-4-2 formation.

And as expected Ryan Taylor stays at left back with newcomer Davide Santon on the bench.

But a surprise is that Rob Elliot is the substitute goalkeeper, even though Steve Harper is back fit again, following his knee problem.

Danny Guthrie is on the bench and no James Perch, as we had expected.

But the bench is still a very strong one – Rob Elliot, Davide Santon, Danny Guthrie, Sylvain Marveaux, Sammy Ameobi and Peter Lovenkrands.

As expected former Newcastle player Joey Barton makes his debut for the opposition tonight, as do new buys Anton Ferdinand and Wright-Phillips.

Howay The Lads!!

Teams:

QPR: Kenny, Derry, Gabbidon, Taarabt, Bothroyd, Faurlin, Traore, Barton, Young, Wright-Phillips. Ferdinand.
Substitutes:Murphy, Hall, Campbell, Buzsaky, Connolly, Smith, Puncheon.

Newcastle United (4-4-2): Krul;  Simpson, Taylor (S), Coloccini (c), Taylor (R);  Obertan, Cabaye,  Tiote, Gutierrez Best, Ameobi
Substitutes: Elliot,  Santon, Guthrie,  Marveaux,  Ba, Ameobi (Sa), Lovenkrands,

Ba is poor. Not surprise he didn’t make it to the bench. He has been rubbish so far aside from the 1 assist last week. He really needs some games in the reserves.

    Leon Best Hattrick!!!

Ba is on the bench for sure. Not sure where the info on him not being on the bench came from but nufc.co.uk has him on the subs list.
