We continue to be lucky riding our luck. Make no mistake when we come up against a side that will take their chances we can expect a drubbing just like QPR had at the beginning of the season.

    for villa id go with

i wud pick this team to allow a good deffensive line up with tiote as extra protection against there pace.
the midfield has guti in the center cos in my opinion all he does is run at defenders with no end product as in crossing the ball so we might aswell just give him the center to run through. marv and obertan are quick and can just attack the flanks getting some balls in the box and cabaye should hopefully be allowed to do his thing in the middle and supply besty. i pick rayls over simmo as he can also attack the flank and let obertan drift in the middle and we know rayls can wip a good ball in.

bionic, wouldnt be too negative, I think the performances have not been too bad baring last night when you could tell that we needed an extra body in midfield for ameobi from about the 2nd minute. My main concern is where the goals are going to come from apart from Best?

@ AshtreeKid – If we had gone 4-5-1 we would have looked a lot more solid.

Pards admitted to getting it wrong as we were overrun in the centre of the park but we kept a clean sheet even still.

Best will score a lot of goals, he is having to work so hard for such little reward as he is playing with no support/running from Shola.

With Ben Arfa back, Best can get the goals from open play and will release others to move on to get a few too.

We were poor away from home and got a point. I’ll take that.

Villa will be a big test as it will be a more tactical game and we need our wits about us BIG TIME.

cabaye can provide the goals if allowed to shoot. Shola didnt do his hold up play @ all.

ganiyu – Shola DID do his hold up play – only problem was, after he’d held it up he either lost it or passed to one of their men!

think pardew will pick the same back 4 against villa, santon is only 20 still and he will be up against n’zogbia who is better than SWPhillips, pardew is always on about yougsters knocking at the door but thats all they do the door never opens when the crunch comes

I was at the game last night and have to admit we were extremely lucky………
Taylor was out of position so many times and made life easy for SWP.
The long ball game DID NOT work, we needed to get the ball down and play through Cabaye.
The amount of times that we had thirty yards of diagonal space for our strikers to run into was unbelievable, but they did not have the vision to see this…..
overall disappointed in the performance but happy with a point!

why did pardew not change things when he saw we were being overrunned.

A manager like AVB or Jose mourinho would have changed things immediately

Cabaye and tiote bossed out of the game by an average Qpr midfield the warnings signs are there for all to see its going to be a long hard season we are riding our luck but for how long?

we got overrun and hit it long due to having one less player in midfield simple as that. Pardew should have changed things.

zogbia isnt as quick as SWP and would be cutting inside more for his left foot so a think santon would do well against zogbia

    Just back from the smoke!

Im not and never have been a player basher, but please?? Why did we give Shola Ameobi a new contract?? He is Championship quality if that!!

He was terrible last night and is everytime i see him try and play. Lazy, No pace, he was even getting beat in the air last night which i would rate as probably his only strength. We essentially played with 10 men last night, even then, oberton did not look interested in the first half, Cabaye?? Where was he? I expected our midfield to dominate last night against a weaker (bartoon apart) midfield……

And please, those who urge us to play Ryan Taylor in place of Simpson, after an ageing average SWP turned him inside out last night surely we have to leave him on bench as cover only?? Surely!!

I know ill get the negger accusation again here by ignoramouses who cant stand my opinion, but I was genuinely worried last night!! God help us when we come up against the likes of Manure/Chelski/Citeh ……theyll pummel our midfield guys, absolutely batter us, unless we play 6 in the middle of the park!!

Now the very few plusses, Demba Ba looked decent when he came on and im NOT his biggest fan, but surely he’s better than Shola folks aint he?

Tiotie looked a bit sharper and relished the battle!

Defence, Raylor apart, looked decent and willing to battle for the cause!!

Collo MUST be offered a new contract now…….if he walks january (Which i fear will happen if peoples predictions come to fruition), he WILL be irreplacable in my eyes, certainly at that moment in time. Being given the capataincy seems to have made him a better player??

    Team for Villa

Jonas/Oberton (Both as ineffectual as each other last night)

Angryman I dont know how on earth you can slate Cabaye.

3 v 2 in midfield nwith an of form Tiote was always gonna go one way, QPRs.

Its like having a fight, no matter how good 2 of the fighters are, if they’re up against 3 99% they will lose.
