Hatem Ben Arfa is one of those sublime players that Newcastle fans just love.
Ben Arfa – will play tonight against Nottingham Forest
And it looks like tonight, all being well, Ben Arfa will make a return to the side at Nottingham Forest.
And since Ben Arfa arrived on Tyneside a year last August, he must have got to know the medical staff at Newcastle quite well, since he’s been dogged by injury so far, in his time at the club.
If Ben Arfa comes through an easy training session this morning then Alan Pardew will definitely play him at Nottingham tonight.
Ben Arfa talked to the local Newcastle press today:
“I’m excited – the idea of playing again makes me smile.” “I have not played as many games for Newcastle as I would like.”
“Now I want to take my chance to get a game and help the team get through to the next round.” “It is great to be back. I can’t wait to play again.”
“Since I have been back I have worked very hard to get fit.” “I was in France first and then working with the group.”
“Everybody is looking forward to the game with Nottingham Forest tonight.”
Ben Arfa’s advisor Simon Stainrod often talks to the press about the French International, and he has praised the way Ben Arfa has come back from two bad injuries with a lot of hard work:
“He had the horrific experience of his broken leg last season, but he is made of sterner stuff.”
“The aftercare he has received from the specialists in Paris and the Newcastle United medical team has been different class.”
It’s hard to criticize how hard the 24 year-old has worked in coming back from his two injuries, and we just have to hope that those injuries are behind him now.
When the French International returned form America with his ankle injury he went to the Clairefontaine Football Academy for his treatment, but the news is that he also made some trips to a top French ankle specialist in Paris.
We have to hope he can now have a prolonged spell in the Newcastle first team, and if he can do that, then the Magpies are going to be so much stronger and more creative as an attacking force, with Ben Arfa in the side.
It”s exciting to know the 24 year-old will return to the Newcastle first team tonight.
