The goal-scorer and hero Demba Ba is in the middle there
BBC interview with Demba Ba after the game today
This player is so modest it’s ridiculous, but he scored three great goals today, and surely there are more to come, now that he’s finally up to speed.

Yeah I liked that he would wait for a pass then look up quickly see what was happening and then either ball out to the wing or just drive foward. Thought Marv should of come on earlier imo Guti looked like when he got clattered he picked up a knock
Andy
True we did have the extra man and that would make a huge difference and you could be right would like to know what you think after viewing it as its very different than being in St James haha I could of just be caught up in the glee of seeing HBA get on the pitch

Comment #42Hoillet would be a class signing a cant see Jonas being here next season so he can be his replacement and he can play both wings or upfront so hes versatile and better still Hoillet has got an end product

I admire your respect for Pardew, but u cannot think, that after 9 months in charge, Pards is on his way to be better than SBR. Lets give it atleast two seasons of finishing in the top 4. Then he’ll be on par with SBR.
Saying anything else is premature imo, and we do not have enough evidence to conclude that, by faaaaaar.
Lets not get ahead of ourselfes. We’ve had an excellent start, but we’ve had our share of luck aswell.

Comment #45Jonas reverse pass to hba was quality. He needs to do that sort of thing more. Him being in a more mobile creative team will see him flourish i think. Especially one that counters as quick as we do. Obertan and jonas are key to that.
Also lads lets not go talking him up too much yet. Still a long season ahead with a smallish squad. Wolves away will be a tough tough game.

HBA – a world class player in the making, i’ll be bold enough to make that statement.
Gutti didn’t have allot to do today tbh, when he was subbed by Marveux i thought it was the correct call, as Gutti also didn’t seem to be able to make the most of things as he usually does.
It’s scary to bench Gutti, but could be that Marveux gets the nod at Wolves…
Then again, dunno if we’ll be as offensive there, Wolves are an unpredictable team atm. Win 3-0 one game, loose 4-0 the next.
Probably the game i feel most uneasy about since Arsenal tbh…

Comment #49Wolves away will be a very tough game next week, very physical side good thing is our midfield are technically brilliant and yet not compromising the defensive duties so Cabaye and Tiote should cope with O’hara and Henry and our pace going forward is as good as any team in the league in my opinion.

Oh I wouldnt go as far to say he was that good just yet still has a lot to prove imo Guti seems to be playing very defensively while Raylor is there when Santon gets in the team I think Guti will get back to his old ways
I think he avoid his big runs down the flank these days because he knows if he loses it Raylor is totally exposed whereas El Toro would of coped
Wolves are just a pain in the backside quite frankly haha hope Tiote knocked Kelvin out though just for Barton 🙂

Comment #56Actually a think am being to harsh on Simo, he is improving game by game but today he gave Olsen to much time to cross for their goal and couple of other times he just let them cross instead of sticking a tackle in

Comment #57Players needs to run into position to get the kind of pass from Jonas..
Former players Nolan too slow and wont run into the kind of positon Hatem will run into…to get the pass so there is no chance Jonas will make those pass formerly..

thanks mate.
Sir Bobby was a great man, and a true idol for any man!
He was a great manager, but how many times did we end in top 4 with him as manager?
How many trophys did we win with him as manager?
Pardew is a man everyone respects.. The players, the fans, the board etc..
He is not only our manager, but also our spokesman!
Remember the tragedy in Norway in july?
Pardew went public saying how sorry he and the club was.. Not just because of the tragedy, but also because one norwegian toon fan died on that tragic day.
The best season start in 16 years.
Lots of quality in the squad, but one man has to combine all that quality together.
As i wrote the other day on a danish site… “I would not want any other manager, than Pardew right now”
And i mean that 100%!!
What a character he is.
I know the season has only just started, but what an excellent one that is, eh?
Points earned, cannot be taken from us. Remember that gents…
I said before the season startet, that a 6th place was our destination..
I still believe that.

Knock out “Kelvin” indeed 😉
And HBA might not be world class right now, that’s true, i should’ve spescified that, but he will be, of that i’m sure.
About the backtracking, Jonas is a forward going player, and he likes to do that, but he’s a fantastic team player aswell.
However, i can’t help think that this frustrates him a bit, he helped Enrique allot, now he’s helping Raylor, he must become restless and think that he wants to go forward more, and let the defenders defend. I certainly would.
I’m not sure where i’m going with this, lol, but in his interview today, reading between the lines, i can’t help feel that he wants “more” maybe. I think he’ll leave next summer, and we shouldn’t wait forever to start Marveux in that case.
He’s a great passer/crosser, how long we’ll we wait before we realize our potential in our passing game
through him?
If the team plays well, then don’t change it is whats Pardew is thinking, but with players like HBA and Marveux on the pitch, i can’t help think we’d do even better going forward…

Comment #75I was at the game. Just caught up with the comments while barca game is on.
I thought we got better and better right the way through to 90mins. I totally agree with people, that Obertan had a really good game as he was attacking the opposition and did it as the main outlet today.
Tiote looked like he was almost back to his old self too.
Great reception for Hatem and some eye-candy passing inter-play in the second half I thought. When Ben Arfa and Marveaux were on, the passing looked so easy and second nature. As if it was like, this passing malark isn’t hard, look how easy it is for us. Great stuff.
What iv noticed already about Demba Ba is that when he shoots, he’s hitting the target or very nearly hitting the target with his shots and that is a sign of quality. How people slating him before couldn’t comprehend that his lack of energy was probably due to Ramadan is beyond me. Looked strong, willing and lethal today.
Great performance lads and well done Alan Pardew.

I bleeding hate Henry horrible footballer and a thug I wont lose any sleep if Tiote does knock him out
I will still reserve my judgement on Hatem for a while some good signs so far but is yet to have a good run of games for us (through injury admittedly) but adapting to our league might be a issue for him he likes time on the ball and a few teams in this league wont let you have that

I agree that Pardew has to stay now, and we need to see how far we can go with him.
But still, i see it as way to premature to think that Pardew is better than SBR.
SBR has done allot of great deeds throughout his life, hence the “Sir” infront of his name, lets not forget that.
Comparing the two is difficult, they worked under very different circumstances.
U could argue that SBR had more money to work with, but he hardly had the scouting network we have now.
As we’ve seen with several examples through the years, money doesn’t make a top 6 team, quality players do.
Sunderland is a good example spending bundles of money and getting naught out of it, Carroll a good example player of being overrated, etc etc.
Pardew has to prove that our good start is more than a fluke, yes, he’s beginning to win me over, but i’ll wait with my celebration over Pardews appointment until i see we’re atleast top 8 come christmas.
