Newcastle United were drawn away at Blackburn in the 4th round of the Carling Cup.
The draw could have been easier and it could have been a lot harder too, so we’re not complaining.
And Aldershot Town, who we wanted at Newcastle, are drawn at home to Manchester United, so they’ll make a few bob off that game, and even more if the game takes place at Old Trafford.
The games will be played in the final week of October, and there’s a decent chance that Newcastle can make the quarter finals draw.
The draw in full is as follows:
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Manchester City
Cardiff City v Burnley
Blackburn Rovers v Newcastle United
Arsenal v Bolton Wanderers
Stoke City v Liverpool
Aldershot v Manchester United
Crystal Palace v Southampton
Everton v Chelsea

Comment #3good draw as there is a realistic potential for Liverpool, Chelsea and even Man City to get knocked out as they are 3 difficult away draws especially if they risk weakened teams! Also fancy Bolton for a shock as well.

Comment #11Guthrie in ahead of Abeid, don’t agree with that one, but oh well, Gosling or Abeid should’ve been ahead imo.
Happy to see Harper as nr 2, Eliott let 3 goals in against Nottingham, didn’t seem too confident and was caught cold on their second goal.
Can’t have that.

Comment #12Weird how Manure always gets the “weaker” teams, isn’t it?

Comment #14Great team! Happy to see no Shola Ameobi! But Gosling deserves to be in the squad! Hope Marveaux will get some time today!

Comment #15I’m excited. Closer to the Carling Cup now. Btw according to FM Abeid is a selfish player. Still gonna buy him & train him to be a ST. Use that selfishness to complement him 🙂
