Several Good Players Still To Come Through At Newcastle

Newcastle have done really well this season so far, even though they have not got all their players quite up to speed yet.

Davide Santon – to play for Reserves on Wednesday

While Demba Ba announced his arrival on Saturday with a fabulous hat-trick,  there are other players like Ben Arfa, Davide Santon, Sylvain Marveaux, Mehdi Abeid, Haris Vuckic and Dan Gosling still to show through at the club.

It will only be a matter of time before Ben Arfa shows through, and of course 19 year-old Mehdi Abeid  could be a surprise success this season, when he was only expected to be part of the Development squad, but nobody bothered to tell Mehdi that.

And good news today is that Italian U21 captain Davide Santon is ready to make a second appearance for the Newcastle Reserves side, as he gets up to speed and over his slight knee injury.

Santon was injured about ten days ago, but seems to have recovered after his knee was drained a week ago in London,  and Alan Pardew talked about the talented 20 year-old today:

“I think Santon will play at Swansea on Wednesday and we will see from there.”

The Newcastle squad looks surprisingly strong with several players now pushing for a starting place in the team, which is great to see as Alan continued:

“Everybody else looks very, very strong.”  “We still have Davide Santon to feature as well, so we are in a good position.”

Davide Santon needs to oust Ryan Taylor from the left back position, and Ryan has done a great job for the club as a stand-in left back, and we even noticed he was starting to kick the ball with his left foot a lot on Saturday, and obviously was trying to show Alan Pardew that he really is a natural left back.

😀

But seriously, Ryan is a terrific professional and this is all you can ask of a squad player, to come in and get the job done for Newcastle when necessary, and he’s done exactly that so far this season, and all credit to the 27 year old for that.

Comments welcome.

Ed.. is he playing Basketball in that picture?

    on a serious note..

IF SAMMY SCORES, WE’RE ON THE PITCH

Cant wait to see Santon play.. My mate went to the 6-0 hammering of Norwich and he said Santon was MINT. he made 2 excellent runs into their box from LB and he said his crossing was sublime. Hope he makes it into the first 11 over the next month or two. then we will defiantly be looking the part.

@post 3. I would agree about Ba & Best, certainly on current form, whereas RT has done an admiral job of filliing in the LB spot, he did give possetion away fairly cheaply on Saturday, which led to the Blackburn goal. Appart from that and the afforementioned QPR game, he had done very well.

a went to the norwich match aswel, Santon played awesome just before he went off he made a run from outside our box doin a couple 1 twos and takin on a few players before he cut inside from about 25/30 yards and smashed one with his right foot and just went over the bar but he looked like he was so experienced when he really isnt

    Ba – 10 goals in 14 starts
    Best – 9 goals in 14 starts
Totall = 19 goals in 28 starts now thats a class record even though Ba scored 7 of his 10 in 12 starts for West Ham its still awesome

The Development Squad was looking with deep interest at Darnel Situ. Im guessin he would have taken over Kadar’s place as a back up. Situ’s agent insist a 1st team clause. His attributes looks quite good on FM. It also mention that he is a player who could have problems with injuries. No wonder the agent was pushing for the clause. No wonder Swansea said no too.

We still need a back up CB. Who can we sign?

sorry to point this out but Swansea signed him for £250k however haven’t been able to play him because FIFA decided to not give them international clearance even though the FA, UEFA and others did.

    Well, well, well …

Where are Solano, Angryman The Fan, GoalsBringSmiles and the rest of the big moaners?

The doom and gloom merchants who said our squad was pi$$ poor, who said we had ripped out and sold the backbone of our team, who said player confidence and team spirit would be shattered, who said cheap free unproven French players would be sh!te in the Prem, who said Pardew was a cr&p clueless puppet manager, who said that we were on a oneway ticket to definite relegation which of course is what some idiots said the FGB wants all along …

Where are you boys – cos I’m here listening to what you have to say about EIGHT games unbeaten. About how we are getting BETTER every game. About how Obertan, Ba and Best are quickly proving you wrong that they are cr&p players. About how Pardew has transformed the midfield from the one paced (slow) Barton and Nolan to the terrific quick passing and running game we saw on Saturday. How Cabaye is looking a better and more influential player than Nolan or Barton – would you have either of those two replace him in the team? Did you hear the crowd on Saturday? Did you feel the excitement and passion as the fans start to see what is happening on the pitch? That we have exciting, young, skilful players who are putting their heart and soul into every match. That they know this team can only get better.

And guess who appointed Pardew? Guess who laid down the law that we don’t make aged trophy signings for ridiculous fees and stupid wages? Guess who started to put the youth system right from when he first came so that now we have real quality youngsters coming through for the first time in years?

YES – MIKE ASHLEY. THAT’S WHO.

I have had dogs of abuse from you lot and others for months because I have consistently said that Pardew is the best manager we’ve had since KK first time and SBR. Dogs of abuse because I’ve said Ashley has a sound plan to move this club forward and he will stick to it no matter what criticism he gets – because he’s RIGHT. I’ve had dogs of abuse for saying that just because we didn’t sign another CF that didn’t take away all the great work that had been done getting the other 7 players in. Dogs of abuse for saying this squad is the best we’ve had in years.

But guess what? I was right all along.

Must make Solano, Angryman and GoalsBringSmiles especially – sick as parrots eh.

Oh, and just to finish off I’ll repeat something else I’ve been saying for months ….

MIKE ASHLEY is the best owner of NUFC we’ve had in my 50 years of supporting the Toon.

And even if the season is successfull, Ashley would have been very lucky.

Carr, Pardew and HBA were indeed good recruitments. THese three guys shaped the team the way it is.

But, according to what the board done about the LB, i would not called them people skilled for football club managing despite of bringing in these guys..

Furthermore, look at St James. Since, the begining of the season, a library. It could have heavy consequences in the futur.
Was writting earlier, this is the crowd who bring HBA and his countrymen to the sides of Tyne.

So, on a long run, the club is maybe losing far more than a good season, or a good financial shape.

On the contrary,a lot of people who normally moan are writing up beat positive blogs and find it quite insulting that a man who clearly sounds like a ravin lunatic bills son is suggesting that we would like to see the team lose,I have openly praised Pardew who is winning over more and more people everyday,I’m not about to go singing the praises of a man I still deeply mistrust because we have had a good few results, when the team is genuinely successful maybe it might change a lot of peoples opinions of him.

I haven’t posted for a while been in the old us of a and been a bit I’ll. But anyways, I still don’t agree that this is mike ashleys doing, it is only down to Pardew and the staff, with a minimum investment of an extra 20m we would have had the cover to really challenge.

That being said obviously I’m delighted by the start, cabeye looks immense, Tiote back to his best, Best doing well as is Ba, much prefer this style of play, on the ground, keep possession and dominate games. I’m neither positive nor negative!! I would love some cb/fb cover and a striker and I’m happy!

i havnt said one bad thing about the team as a whole, i think that pardew is proving me wrong, and il openly say that, still question his subs though, he gets them wrong, he and other managers see something in shola that i carnt see,

i think, like most on here, we dont see best as a first team striker, given the no of chances he wastes, but he does the right things,

the young players we have comming through , i think are amazing,

i just have a problem,, lol wait for it, with 1 player,,
