There are a number of Newcastle players that have been called up for International duty next month.
Fab Coloccini – still no recall by Argentina
Five Newcastle players have been called up for full International duty, and six of the Newcastle youngsters have been called up for Youth International play.
Jonas Gutierrez who will be at Newcastle for the next four years now, after he signed a new contract yesterday, has again been called up for the Argentine squad by new manager Alejandro Sabella, and the Argies play Chile in Buenos Aires on Friday, 7th October, and then play Venezuela on Tuesday, 11th October.
But still no recall for Newcastle captain Fabricio Coloccini.
Newcastle striker and new hero Demba Ba has been called up for Senegal’s African Cup of Nations qualifying match against Ile Maurice in Port-Louis on Sunday, 9th October, and of course if Senegal qualify for the finals, he will be missing in January, as will Cheick Tiote, if the Ivory Coast qualify for the finals.
19 year-old Haris Vuckic has been named in both Slovenian Under 20 and Under 21 squads for their matches coming up, and forgotten defender, 21 year old Tamas Kadar, has been included in the Hungary Under 21 squad.
Not all squads have yet been announced yet, so there could be even more Newcastle players involved next month, like Dan Gosling for the England U21 side, as one example.
The International two week break comes after this weekend’s games, so let’s hope Newcastle can get a good result at Wolves, and keep in 4th position in the Premier League for those two weeks.

Comment #41Bill-son, I never suggested we swap Bruce for Pardew, so I dont know why you are asking the question in the first place. Would I swap Ashley for Sunderlands chairman – yes, I would. I would also swap Llambias ( another shocking appointment from Ashley, following on from Wise, that anglo/Spanish property dealer bloke who had links with Tottenham, Kinnear ( please dont insult us all with the tame justification of that Billson ) . Apart from all the things that have annoyed Toon fans ( the attempt at renaming the ground was particularly sweet of him) i think we can also safely say that we would take a Niall Quinn Chairman figure any day of the week. I am pleased that we dont get taken for mugs in the transfer market, but MA has shown ( to date ) a clear unwillingness to pay fair money for decent players, and values in excess of 5mill seem beyond him. This isnt an issue for the American chairman ( the previous guy was Irish i think ? ) and i dont think you can up-rate Ashley on that basis. Its not the makems owners fault that Bruce us buying players for too much. Owners who invest well ( and substantially) on the playing side are good news mate, as are those who communicate with their fanbase. And I still dont think that the appt of pardew ( i’ve been a fan for ages ) came after significant analysis of what was available, or a decision based on research , knowledge and intelligence. I think MA got lucky on that score. Bill-son, i’m not an ashley basher for the sake of it – i can see the positives you have outlined – but you are bigging him up into a David Dein or similar. When MA spends good money on a player that we might need, and learns to communicate with the fans better, he will gain more of my respect, and countless others too, For what its worth, I have a feeling there wont be a big gap between us and the mackems at the end of the season, but i naturally hope i’m badly wrong.
