Demba Ba Fit And Able To Play On Sunday

2:48 pm, Tuesday, October 11th, 2011 by Ed Harrison · 22 Comments

The Evening Chronicle is reporting today that Demba Ba is expected to be fit and ready to play in Sunday’s top Premier League game with Tottenham Hotspur at St. James’ Park.

Demba Ba – presumably he’s fit as a fiddle

There was news earlier today that Demba Ba had missed two training sessions with Senegal,  and had not participated in Senegal’s 2-0 win at Mauritius on Sunday.

It could have been that two and two were put together and the result was five – in other words – because Ba did not train there could have been an assumption he was injured, and it was a knee injury too.

We all know that Demba  Ba failed a medical at Stoke in January, and the last thing we want to see  is the Senegal striker injure that same knee again.

But the local paper is reporting the Newcastle club have no reports of any injury to their 6’2″ top striker, who has scored 4 goals in 7 appearances for Newcastle United this season,  and that he will return to the Newcastle club fully fit.

That’s great news,  and now we have to hope that top French International, Yohan Cabaye, also returns to Newcastle uninjured,  after France entertain Bosnia and Herzegovina in Paris tonight.

A French draw or win in that game will see France win Group D, and qualify for the Euro 12 finals next summer in Poland and the Ukraine,  but a Bosnia and Herzegovina win will see them top the group and qualify.

Comments welcome.

I hope he is fit. Ba & Best are shaping up nicely together. @ post 1, it will never catch on, this isn’t Everton you know.

@1 > can you see Tiote’s face in the header bar above? That is his reaction to your latest chant :p haha
In other news, if BA is fit, and we stick with 2 upfront (with Lionel ofcourse) then I would still like to see HBA feature at some point behind Best, after BA scores his hat-trick on 54mins!!!!!

Really hope Ba’s fit, he’s coming into form and and beginning to develop an understanding with Best, who’s also got a few goals in him. Also we have HBA to tuck in behind a lone striker, so finally we have a couple of options up there.

Also hope we are interested in Houlitt, he caught my eye toward the end of last season and I’ve been watching him this season, Blackburn’s stand out player by far, would make a very interesting additition I think!

Us and Spurs are the only two teams, who haven’t being awarded a penalty, so far this season….

Who do we think would take ours, without Shameobi? Ba and Cabaye are the only candidates, for me. Cabaye took all the set-pieces at Lille, I believe.

@5 > would have to be Cabaye, no questions ….. his precision is immense and is as cool as a cucumber!

@5 I would alsi go for Cabaye. He needs to get his first goal under his belt, then who knows how many he may start getting.

Also I think I read somewhere that I Cabaye is yet to miss a professional penalty. If that is true then he would defo get my vote!

    PS – Good Luck Ed!

There was an article someone posted with the top 10 penalty takers in the prem atm Cabaye was in there as he had a 100% record with Lille.

Im sure I read somewhere that cabaye had 100% penalty success for Lille last season like, and he was their main taker.
