Alan Pardew is very clear that the Newcastle fans can play a very important role for the Newcastle club.
Alan Pardew – Newcastle fans important to the club
The support of the Newcastle fans this season, has been fantastic, and Alan Pardew even thinks the support of their fans can help the club keep their top players on Tyneside.
Player like Colo, who is in negotiations with the Newcastle Board at the moment, discussing a contract extension, seems to want to stay on Tyneside.
And we know the Newcastle captain has a wonderful relationship with the Geordie fans.
In the open training session yesterday, that Newcastle staged at St. James’ Park during the half term break for the schools, the Newcastle manager Alan Pardew was shocked that 7,000 fans turned up fo the training.
This is what Alan said today:
“It’s a very important for us to make sure our players bond with the fans and the club.” “It can help us keep them.”
“It was amazing. It goes to show what I said on the pitch – we’ve got the best fans in the world.”
“We appreciate that. They were brilliant the other night as well.” “It was nice to say thank you in a small way to the kids on half-term, and anybody else who could make it.
“I think the fans are a very important part of the Newcastle United club and our players will never play for another club where they get that response on an open day.”
“We had a short session. They put real effort in on Wednesday night.” “I think it was nice for the fans to see their heroes up close.”
“And it was us doing what we do every day, which is something they don’t see normally.”
It was a terrific day for both the fans and the players yesterday, and we have to hope Newcastle will open the doors at St. James’ Park and have an open training day on every half term school holiday from now on.
It’s a win win for both fans and players alike.
