Steven Taylor must have scared the stoke forwards with that halloween mask he had on tonight. Great display throughout the team. Geordies are the pride of England, La La La La La, La La La La.

Great team effort tonight, everyone had a hand in the win. Impeccable performance.
So happy to be a toon fan!!
10 matches, 0 defeats, we’re kind of past the start now aren’t we? Over 1/4th of the season played.

Pardrew is a mastermind when it comes to tactics, unbelievable! He got EVERYTHING right today, something we haven’t seen in donkeys.Even the minor detail lie wasting time by using the towels was genius. I actually think Best played as well if not better than Ba today, he held the ball up perfectly and rarely gave it away. Everyone was awesome today and i am absolutely thrilled!! We have to beat Everton at home now, and we have Tiote back!!! Although Guthrie deserves credit (something i have NEVER giving him before in my life) The only player that was below par was Cabaye and Pardrew resolved that, was not scared to take him off.

Totally agree. And this is without Tiote the Rock in the middle. How great was that. And against a physical team like stoke. Our pressure was amazing! We should play more like that against any other team, pressure is always a good thing, not even for the whole first 45 minutes, but for 2-3 mins at times, it does wonders.

petty I know but I got so much enjoyment out of raylor and simmo wiping the ball down with the towel for every throw. and the stoke fans had the cheek to boo. we out stoke’d stoke and won the best game of rugby we will play all season!

3rd in the league after ten games is top four form with the points we have. November is gonna be a tough month but it would be a tough month for any team who had the fixtures we have. I love the fact that Liverfool are trailing in our wake. Pride has been restored to my beloved club. Maybe i’m overexagerating about our performance but we seem to be winning the games that we would normally loose. Growing as a team. Long may it continue.

Excellent all round performance. If I had to be critical, I was worried at times about TK punching rather than catching, and it didn’t inspire confidence when he fumbled the ball out of play, but he was there when it mattered, and didn’t let us down. Roll on the toffees match.

Raylor was awesome tonight….took some big hits for the team. The Raylor-Jonas and Simmo-Obertan partnerships are beginning to look solid and best of all we now have real competition for places in the team.

For me, the most important thing is that so far we have equalled or bettered EVERY result from last year.

Absolutely incredible the way we’re doing things. And we still have a few players to blend in & bring through slowly, so we’re just going to get better and better if injuries are at all kind.

Guthrie showed he deserves to take Tiote’s place for me. 2 decent performances now.

be a tough game next weekend but one we should be winning especially at home, but we must control Drenthe and possibly wind him up abit hes abit of a hot head and could easily get him sent off especially if Jonas skins him a couple times

Well that was poor from NUFC. Ba should be dropped and Obertan was pathetic….christ sake man who do they think we are Spurs or Liverpool! Pardew obviously didnt tell them we were set up to lose….idiots and that Best character what was he doing worrying the Stoke defence all match?!?

Haha we bossed that match and rightly so. Obertan was great today and should be proud. Ba and Best worked very well together and the man who will not be stopped Jonas was great.

Also who is this Guthrie lad and where has he come from? Our new style certainly suited his game didnt miss the ballerina at all 🙂

must say Guthrie is on heck of a player he just needs a run of games in his actual position last year and year before Hoots kepts playing him on the right and he is never in a million years a right winger.. hes got such a class range of passing and is a real battler excellent squad player to have around for sure

Sir Alan – would of been a good signing yeah, but no mate he’s only on loan with view to buy if they want him although no price has been agreed its thought madrid want around £8million so unless this new takeover of Everton comes up trumps then a cant see them buyinh him ha

Thanks for the reply GeordieGerman. Can’t believe we are doing this well at the minute. It’s like they say, there is no I in TEAM. Would like to give a special mention to Leon Best. He may not be putting the ball in the net but his contribution to the team means he doesn’t have to score. A Selfless player from start to finish.

ha ha yes GeordieToon89, I nearly wet myself when in post match interview they asked pulis about him not signing ba. he looked ready to shoot dead things and stormed off! I thought ba handled it very well, why the stoke fans boo’d him I’ll never know.

Not gonna do ratings but heres my opinion

Krul: Made a few silly mistakes. Nothing costly. Another Solid performance

Simmo: Great game. Did less backing off today. And was crucial in defending from set pieces.
Saylor: Solid as usual even with a mask on.
Colo: Again solid as usual. (We easily have 2 of the best CBs in the prem
Raylor: Was a martyr today (in a good way. Took some beatings for the team. That puts him in the running for my MOTM. His spirit.

Obertan: Better than last few games. Great assist. Still needs to work on not giving ball away but against Stoke’s muscle he did well. And to be fair a lot of the time he was given the ball when he was crowded out already.
Guthrie: Played it simple. Got the job done. Good to know with Tiote at ACN. We have cover for a crucial player. Also seemed a lot fitter than last season. Ran his heart out.
Cabaye: I think was better than most on here seem to. We wouldnt have got the result without Cabaye and Guthrie putting in the defensive work.
Jonas: Exceptional. Worked his ass off. Always there to help Raylor. Played very defensively compared to usual which took the flair out of his game but showed a different and equally as useful side to him.

Best: Well he didnt score but he has a great work rate and is always making an impact on a game even if he isnt scoring. Has clearly got a team mentality. Just hope he doesnt get frustrated with lack of goals.
Ba: Like this guy more and more each week. He gets the goals. He’s very humble and he’s a team player. He doesnt just wait for the team to give him balls. He gets back and takes part in the building too. Love this man.

Was surprised by subs but Perch put in a shift. And didnt score own goals. Would have personally left Cabaye on and switch Guthrie for Perch. Or even had Alan Smith on the bench to take over.

Always like to see Sammy. Even if he only got a touch.

Personally i dont think the subs were necessary but it was good that these players got a run on.

Good decision not to put HBA on. Not the game for him. Everton on the other hand next week. Well we saw what happened last time

You don’t think it is the other way around? That everything will be fine so there is nothing to worry.
Tiote is a rock, if needed, he will just play without that knee 🙂

Incredible win and even better performance, every player worked hard tonight and we beat them at their own game. Credit to the boys and to Pardew who got it all right tonight (even though I thought we should have gone 4-5-1!)

I feel I can say this now. But i remember way back when Pards was handed the job. I was sceptic. Not as against it as many people i spoke to at the time but sceptic nonetheless. But one thing i did say to a friend was

“If he can give the team some sort of structure that would be good. Because at times we were a mess under Hughton (who i will always have a soft spot for).”

Well Pards has clearly done that. He has formed a team built on character and clearly instilled some basic football 101 that is simple but often lost on many players. I can see this because I spent my childhood watching Italian football with my dad and uncle (a football coach for the local team and an ex professional football player (Bristol City was about as far as he got). Italian football may be boring to many EPL followers but they have the basic principles down to a t upon which many teams can perform. Look at Swansea for example.

    Haha I will try mate

But seriously we were great tonight imo wasen’t a weak link out there (maybe Raylor if I was to be critical) we were lucky Shawcross got injured and their other defender had to go off but we never looked like losing (though Krul did try to throw the ball in our net haha daft lad).

The entire midfield were great (Guthrie specially for me) Ba and Best looked wonderful personally thought Best was fantastic tonight even though he didnt score his hold up play was top notch and his passing was simple and effective. Defence was very good (barring Raylor who was covered alot but gave it his all as usual).

Pards tactics were great as well, the ball drying was classic.

Was just a very good performance and shows what we are able to do when on form….more of the same please lads

Oh must say 2 very weak pens

Best result of the season so far. A comfortable win at the britannia.. more than manure, liverpool, chelsea could muster. Ba is our most complete forward since shearer and Colo is the best central defender I have ever seen in toon colours – better than woodgate now in my opinion. Jonas is 2 players, Krul is the nut’s mutts and cabaye is luxury goods…

delirious lads n lasses.. GEDDIN> HWTL!!!!!!!!
