Marveaux Starts – Guthrie Continues In Central Midfield

As expected, Sylvain Marveaux makes his full Premier League debut this afternoon, in place of the injured Gabriel Obertan.

And Cheick Tiote must have failed his fitness test this morning,  because Danny Guthrie continues in central midfield in partnership with Frenchman Yohan Cabaye.

Peter Lovenkrands returns to the substitutes bench for the game which kicks off at 12:45 pm, and Dan Gosling, the former Everton midfielder is also on the subs bench today, and could see some action against his former club.

Former Newcastle center-back Sylvain Distin is on the bench for the Toffees, and Phil Neville captains the side.

The first goal today is to retain our unbeaten record in the league, but a win would be so sweet.

Howay The Lads!!

Newcastle United (4-4-2): Tim Krul; Danny Simpson, Steven Taylor, Fabricio Coloccini (c), Ryan Taylor; Sylvain Marveaux, Yohan Cabaye, Danny Guthrie, Jonas Gutierrez; Leon Best, Demba Ba
Substitutes: Rob Elliot, Davide Santon, James Perch, Dan Gosling, Hatem Ben Arfa, Sammy Ameobi, Peter Lovenkrands

Everton (4-5-1): Tim Howard; Tony Hibbert, John Heitinga, Phil Jagielka, Leighton Baines; Seamus Coleman, Leon Osman, Jack Rodwell, Phil Neville (c), Royston Drenthe; Louis Saha
Substitutes: Jan Mucha, Sylvain Distin, Tim Cahill, Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Denis Stracqualursi, James McFadden, Apostolos Vellios

I cant see AP switching Jonas to the right purely because of his great understanding with Ryan Taylor. Helps the defense alot. With Marveaux having played in the right side of midfield before, i’m sure he should do just fine.

HBA on in the second half to run at Everton’s defense. Hoping for a win! In dreamland so far.

@xfer: Can’t see him playing on the right at all. For whatever reason we’ve always used him on the left – don’t see why that should change now.

Maybe Pards is feeding Sky dodgy info? haha

You’d think people would wait to see how the lads play before they start talking about subs…

Tiote is a big miss today, hope Guthrie steps up because Everton’ midfield is much stronger than Stoke and they actually use it not bypass it with punts upfield.
