News in the Daily Mail today that Chris Hughton’s Birmingham City are willing to take Nile Ranger from Newcastle.
Nile Ranger – in action against Chelsea
Nile’s career has gone off track this season with three arrests being made, with one assault and two drink related charges all happening over the last couple of months.
Birmingham seem willing to take to 20 year-old England U19 and U20 star on loan for the rest of the season, as it would appear he has little chance of a future at Newcastle, after the lad joined the Magpies from Southampton in the summer of 2008, following some troubled teenage years.
The Mail is reporting that Alan Pardew is happy for the striker to go out on loan, and get his career back on track, and Alan apparently thinks that Nile may even have a future at Newcastle in the future.
But we doubt that somehow.
And it seems the powers that be at Newcastle are more inclined to move Ranger out on a permanent deal in January, with the fee said to be around £1M.
Things started to go bad for Ranger in the summer when he posed with a firearm, much like a Chicago gangster.
And the London-born youngster is due to face Newcastle magistrates three times this month following arrests for assault, drunk-driving and being drunk and disorderly.
Chris Hughton must fancy his chances of getting Nile back on track, and of course Nile made his debut under Chris in the Championship, and he played 30 times for Newcastle in the promotion season, and made another 28 appearances last season.
But he is not currently in the first team squad at Newcastle, after the off-field troubles he has had this season.
