Birmingham Interested In Acquiring Newcastle Striker Nile Ranger

News in the Daily Mail today that Chris Hughton’s Birmingham City are willing to take Nile Ranger from Newcastle.

Nile Ranger – in action against Chelsea

Nile’s career has gone off track this season with three arrests being made, with one assault and two drink related charges all happening over the last couple of months.

Birmingham seem willing to take to 20 year-old England U19 and U20 star on loan for the rest of the season, as it would appear he has little  chance of a future at Newcastle, after the lad joined the Magpies from Southampton in the summer of 2008, following some troubled teenage years.

The Mail is reporting that Alan Pardew is happy for the striker to go out on loan, and get his career back on track, and Alan apparently thinks that Nile may even have a future at Newcastle in the future.

But we doubt that somehow.

And it seems the powers that be at Newcastle are more  inclined to move Ranger out on a permanent deal in January, with the fee said to be  around £1M.

Things started to go bad for Ranger in the summer when he posed with a firearm, much like a Chicago gangster.

And the London-born youngster is due to face Newcastle magistrates three times this month following arrests for assault, drunk-driving and being drunk and disorderly.

Chris Hughton must fancy his chances of getting Nile back on track,  and of course Nile made his debut under Chris in the Championship, and he played 30 times for Newcastle in the promotion season,  and made another 28 appearances last season.

But he is not currently in the  first team squad at Newcastle,  after the off-field troubles he has had this season.

Comments welcome.

sephir0 – Are you some kind of computer genius? On my screen I appeared as post 1 and then post 3 yet you manage to then post something that shifts us all down 1. I’m massively upset by this as I was just starting to toss myself off over getting “1st” and you’ve shattered the dream – SHAME ON YOU!!

A tampon company would be a good move – FCB treats us like a bunch of c***s anyway – and as he is a prize one, its a win, win situation lol

I assume that you are referring to “replacements in the summer”

Although this does sound a little like players being sold. It could mean replacements for people like Smith, Lovenkrands etc who’s contracts are up in the summer and will probably leave for free so we will need funds to replace them.

Who knows might need a replacement for Perch 😉
