Newcastle Continue Their Interest In Top Auxerre Midfielder

Sevilla seem to have joined Newcastle United in being interested in Auxerre’s impressive  attacking midfielder Alain Traore,  who turns 23 on December 31st.

Alain Tarore – Newcastle interested?

The 22 year-old started his career at Planete Champion in 2004 before joining Auxerre one year later, and there was also news in talksport about two weeks ago,  that Newcastle were keenly interested in signing the player in January and negotiations were even at an advanced stage.

The 5’10″ midfielder made his first team debut for Auxerre back in 2006, and he came through the French side’s youth academy and is a tough tackling youngster who fits perfectly the type of young player Mike Ashley wants to bring to Tyneside.

Alain has played 15 times for the Burkina Faso National side, but the news is that he may struggle to get a work permit to play in England.

That was the case when he went for trials at Manchester United five years ago and the Red Devils wanted to sign him at that time, but had difficulty getting a work permit.

However,  now that he is an International player, that may alleviate the situation and certainly he seems pleased with the interest being shown by these two clubs:

“It’s a pleasure to know that these clubs are following me”, “But at this time, that’s just a secondary thing.”

Auxerre are struggling this season and are currently 5th bottom of the French League just one point above the relegation zone with 15 points from their 15 games played.

Alain has now played a total of 56 times for Auxerre with 18 goals,  since joining them six years ago from his local club Planete Champion, and this season he has 7 goals in 14 total  appearances for the French side.

From what we can ell this lad looks a good player,  and it’s Chief Scout Graham Carr who has been tracking him for Newcastle.

“Tough tackling” young midfielder, unfortunately he sounds like a tiote replacement.

At least they’re ahead of the game this time.

I thought he was a left sided player who can also play in central mid field and has a really good left foot

Unfortunately, Ashley will never see our club as a project to challenge the elite of europe for honours.

We are only being used as a promotion bandwaggon for his sports shop empire – while taking every opportunity on the way to make a quick buck. Fortunately for Ashley, things have been going his way.

Inevitabley, players will be sold in jan, we will start losing games, and fans will turn on Pardew.

I really hope I’m wrong – but like the rest of us – I’ll enjoy it while it lasts…

As soon as players are logged in january

    Scotty – what a load of b%ll%x.

Ashley has proved the doom mongers like you wrong for the last three seasons and he will keep proving you wrong.

This nonsense about him just ‘using’ the club for SD promotion and having no interest in making us an elite club jusr cracks me up. Yeh, yeh, yeh … he’s just been lucky that things have gone well so far hasn’t he.

Lucky my rs … its all part of a proper plan to take this club forward, make us a permanent top 6 club and at the same time stay profitable and financiakky stable.

Fans like you are too blind with hatred and bile to see it.

    And on Traore …

If Tiote is sold for £25M and we sign a DM for £5M-£7M who can put in a killer pass (which Tiote cant) and get 10 goals a season (which Tiote cant) then that would be great business and improve the team.

Tiote is a very good player but he has limitations and he isnt worth more than £15M in my opinion – but I dont believe Ashley would sell for that. Ashley will only sell for stupid money like the £35M for AC.

The only player that we have sold where the replacement hasn’t improved the team is Enrique. Thats why we are 4th FFS. And a new left back will be signed in Jan.

I dont want Tiote or any other top player to leave but if they do I’ll judge the decision on the replacement before I mouth off and up looking stupid. Just as the Barton, Nolan and Carroll screamers did when Oba, Cabaye and Ba came in and made us a better team.

Bills-son… Thumps up mate, you talk some sense… All these Ashley haters out there spends so much time being misrable that MA owns the club that they fail to really enjoy the success we have. I truly believe that most of them would rather see us struggle so their nonsense bullsh*t can seem justified… And to the haters, we wont use mega bucks on players anymore and our stadium is renamed, deal with it and welcome to the modern times.

Guys, whatever happens in the future, lets just enjoy the good time we’re having now and not worry about what may or may not happen in January, point is we’re going to be without Tiote for January anyway and we’ve played our 2 hardest games of the season without him and done relatively well. Whether that was by luck or skill or maybe a little of both I dont care, the fact is we’re having a great season now so just be positive and stop moaning about stuff which may not even happen in the future.

players come and players go. its the way it has been and always will. we should stop worrying about who will be sold. player power dictates if they want out they will go.if stupid bids come in all chairman will say to players we have this bid its acceptable do you want to talk to them. Tiote refused last time he may do the same again. if he wants to talk to other clubs then thats the nature of football players and money men. i would never complain if players left to go to clubs who have a realistic chance of winning silverwear. careers are short and medals are hard to come buy.when you are sitting towards the bottom of the table heads are turned easily but were not.we are building something on the pitch, we have 52k supporters and a great place to play. all these players who are rumoured to be sold might just want to stay and see how far we can go. i dont see any of the players on our books as mercaneries who only look at pay packets. i think we dumped most of them over the last year and we look 100% better for it

    Scotty,

What a depressing outlook when the team is doing so well on all fronts. I guess your glass is always half empty.

I’m also guessing you have never read the club’s audited accounts or have any concept of the club’s ongoing running costs or have seen the club been given an interest free £130M loan? Not to mention amazing season ticket deals. It’s funny how some people like to spend other people’s money while never been in full posession of the facts.

When was the last time we had players of the calibre of Krul, Santon, Colo, Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Ba, Obertan, Marveux etc, etc ?

Get with the programme and unbuckle your face and smile, we ‘re 4th, ffs !!

Jesus. At least the rumors are of players coming in, and not out. Have a bit of optimism lads. I don’t think we can finish top 4, I think top 6 will be just about us this season.

You may all dislike MA policies, such as every player having his price, not paying silly money for players, but the fact is it is working. We lost our three best players in the summer for a total of 8/9m, and brought in Cabaye, Ba, Obertan, Marveaux and Santon for 11/12m. Younger, hungrier, and better quality, not disrupting the spirit of the team, that is win win in my eyes

The rumour targets now have the cross hairs on Timmy Krul. I sincerley hope not, as HE is one of the reasons we are where we are today. He has earned us at least 6 points with his outstanding performances this season, and is only gonna get better too. Making a fast buck off a lad who is going to be the best keepr in the world in a few years tyime, is not progress, I hope those upstairs see that. HWTL.

Bills-son, the problem with your argument is that it pre-supposes that the players we replace, will be worse than their replacements. In other words, it assumes that we get a better Tiote etc. Why not park the pro Ashley rant, and realise that we might be better off keeping Tiote / Krul ( classic example , and nothing to do with MA by the way ) and then improve the team in other weaker areas. Eg right wing ……you did say obertan was good I remember? Personally I’d like to see a right winger do some damage on the wing, but the guy is not only lazy, ( apart from some defensive track backs, for show ) but seems to lack the belief to run at pace past a winger, which is amazing, as he aint slow. We could surely have found much better abroad for 3 mill ??
