Alan Pardew spoke about Tamas Kadar in his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon.
Tamas Kadar – his new squad number is 40
Alan was being pressed initially in his press conference as to who would play alongside James Perch on Saturday afternoon at Norwich.
He was asked if the squad was too small and was asked specially about Tamas Kadar, and this is what he said:
“We have enough players in the squad – and Tamas Kadar has played well when he’s played in the Reserve games we’ve had.”
“Tamas is up to speed and he hasn’t had too many opportunities, and he wants to kick start his career at Newcastle.”
“There’s no reason why Tamas cannot come in into the squad and do very very well.”
“And yes Santon and Simpson have also played there before and they are options as well”
Alan laughed after saying the last line because he was prompted about whether Santon and/or Simpson were going to play in central defense, and he avoided that by saying they were also options.
Alan just isn’t giving anything away about the line-up on Saturday, and we don’t blame him one little bit, but those are positive words about Tamas Kadar.
And like Alan has done all year since he arrived on Tyneside, he seems willing to bring in the youngsters and give them a chance to show him what they can do.
There’s no difference with Tamas Kadar, even though the manager hasn’t seem much of him since he arrived, but Alan will have been told how good he looked in the first team a couple of years ago.
And as far as Fabricio Coloccini being available this is exactly what he said:
“I think there is an outside chance that Colo can play.”
“But we will not risk him, but he looks a lot better now than he did before.”“That’s the positive news.”
We think that if Coloccini can in fact play, then Tamas Kadar will at least be on the bench for Saturday’s game.
And unless Tamas has gone backwards a lot in this last year, we still think the Hungarian can do a job for Newcastle United.
We all hope that Fab Coloccini can be ready to play on Saturday and if he can, it will be a huge plus for the team at Carrow Road.

Comment #5Sumbody saud santon gets paid 3 times what simpson does, we I agree simpson shud be paid more then he is atm (which I think he will be) but as to why santon is on tje bench I dont know we paid around 5mil for him and he has highish wages, yet raylor is before him.
This is the last time I will say this (My Opnion) and I will gladly say I was wrong (and before I start I think pards is doing a great job in almost all departments)
But if we think about this for a minute, when pardew was in charge harper was fit again (for lyk 2 games) and he had him in goal, although everybody knew krul wud be better, krul was put in (again) when harps got injured again fair enough.
Obertan was playing average and marveux looked great yet marveux was always on the bench UNTIL obertan was injured. The same goes for ben arfa he only got a place cause shola and best were injured.
Now to santon and raylor, raylor has had sum nice contributions but he isnt a defender and I hav being saying all season(on twitter) that raylor is a midfielder and his defending isnt good enough, he has done sum good things but lets be honest he holds jonas back massivley cause every game jonas goes forward raylor gets destroyed. Surely santon is better.
Which brings me to my main point lol, I think pardew doesnt like telling players that they hav lost there place, he only seems to change players for injuries which wud be fine but because of this we dont have our best team on, santon as lB wud helps us so much in attack, jonas and davide cud both destroy norwich. And if taylor is to stay in the team he shud foght it out with raylor

Comment #9Geordie-Jake – not a leg break mate we might need him but maybe a slight groin strain haha.. nah but in all seriousness.. If Santon was ready to play and showing he’s ready on the training ground then im sure he’d be playing but he quite clearly isnt so need to stop cursing our own players and get behind them no matter who it is

Comment #11toontime you’re argument is seriously flawed, you have no basis just speculation and instead of criticising his selection process why don’t you ask questions of the likes of Santon as to why he isn’t doing enough in training to get himself in the team. Pards didn’t want to take players who were getting results for the team and replace them with players who had as of yet proved nothing to him. Santon has to take his chance when he gets it and Pards rewards players who plays well for him. Obertan was unreal against Blackburn and Nottingham Forest, laid on a goal against Stoke, he has earned his place, Marveaux would have been starting because he was sensational but is now injured so Obertan will try and make that spot his own. Your theory that Pardew is “scared” to make changes is complete and utter rubbish

Comment #12I’m not saying raylor is awful because he is quite good in midfield but I just dont think its fair on him, jonas and the rest of the team that he has to play on the wrong side and postion :S wudnt mind if pards put him in for obertan and put obertan on round 70th min.
But Surely santon is better then raylor as a LB he did win the CL lol

Comment #14Ruddy: Pardew loves experienced guys in defense, thats why Santon and Kadar couldnt start.
Kadar is more talented than Perch, but did got back in developing because he got a lot of injuries, and had lass matches. But now he played a lot reserve matches, and also played for Hun u21 and for senior team to, hes ready to start.
Also Santon should get a chance at LB, Raylor is not enough for that position.

Comment #15Raylor right midfield to protect Simpson, Jonas left midfield to protect Santon.
And Perch on the bench to protect Krul.

Comment #19I never said pards was scared, I said pards doesnt like doing it. If its that flawed which player has he changed this season with out injuries being involved?
Obertan inj- marveux came in
Marveux inj-obertan is back
Jonas red- sammy is in(make sense lol)
Best is inj- benny comes in
I dont mean anythibg bad by it, we all know pards is doing a great job with the funds he has, but even he says his best teams hasnt played yet.
Which without inj is imo:
————-krul————–
Simpson-saylor-colo-santon
Marveux-tiote-cabaye-jonas
————-benny————

Comment #24Toontime Pards has come out and said on many many occasions that he feels it would be unfair to the players that has got the results so far to drop one of them so that another one can play. He has said that and stuck by it, the likes of Obertan, Simmo, and Raylor have been part of the team that have got us where we are, it is not a case of not liking doing it he won’t do it because he shows loyalty to players who perform. He sticks to the old adage if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. HBA is only in team because Best got injured, and he has earned his spot, Raylor has performed well overall, poor performances against City and Chelsea aside, injuries may force him to give Santon a chance. Pards’ attitude has fostered a system where the players that come in have to work and prove they are worthy of their place, so that makes them work harder and play better. You shouldn’t be criticising Pards’ approach…you should be praising it!! haha

Comment #25Obertan is just lacking the end product, when Wenger first put Walcott on the wing his end product was lacking, now he is first rate, Lennon lacked end product but with perseverance he now has a much better end product. The lad is so hard on himself because he feels he failed at United, we have a chance to restore a potential class act back on track. Let’s get behind him, it might be frustrating but he will come good!

Comment #26Like u said ruddy the last 3 games raylor has played bad meaning unless santon is really bad at training santon shud be in over raylor, cause like i said players doing well shudnt get subbed wel I agree partially if he plays well and no one else at the club is doing better fair enough, but say smith plas really well, his best is still no where near tiotes average, but Im sure fans wud be really angry if tiote is being kept off cause smith is playing well fr his standerds.
Raylor is playing well for hos standerds but when ever u see santon he is much better

Comment #28Take Guthrie for example, if Tiote and Guthrie were both fit, I would personally be saying the person who’s place should be under threat should be Cabaye because Guthrie has been brilliant. I agree, Santon must not be doing enough in terms of effort and attitude and it take a strong manager to keep faith in a makeshift LB than play the 5million quid signing who was touted as the next Maldini. Raylor hasn’t been good enough, but Santon and Raylor could both well end up on the pitch at the same time considering the injuries so if he does he must grasp the opportunity, and I think when he gets his chance he really will shine due to being left out of the team…he must have expected to start every game but Pards is no walkover

Comment #29Atleast we agree on sumthing lol
Is it just me or has cabaye looked not bad but not his best since that ‘injury’
Ruddy Marveaux-lous
Dec 8, 2011 at 11:45 PM
Comment #30I think that because Guthrie plays his football a bit higher up than Tiote Cabaye can’t bomb forward and pick the creative passes as much as he would like which is forcing his a bit deeper which is probably why we aren’t seeing the creative little maverick we have seen before, but when Tiote lines up beside him again I think he will play much more freely again so I have no worries there, still delighted with his overall contribution this season so far, and healthy disagreement is good as long as we respect each other’s opinions 😛

It will be intresting to see what pards does when tiote is back, i think he will first try cabaye and tiote again and see of they both play aswell as they and if not guthrie comes in 😉

That back line can get it done especially with Jonas tracking back and a midfielder (Gosling or Vuckic) sitting in front of it.

Comment #34Ruddy – agreed. Santon and Arfa are probably the longterm starters in this side. But what kind of manager disrupts an unbeaten team for the sake of making changes? What message does it send out?
Injuries and loss of form are inevitable as we are now seeing, and there is still a lot of experimentation going on. Not just the best 11 – but how they link up as a whole. We all have our grumbles – I’m not convinced by Obertan yet, and was frustrated to see Lovenk get the nod ahead of Sammi but the big picture is the most important thing.

Comment #35Ruddy Marveaux-lous: In my honest opinion Raylor has been consistently better than Obertan over the season so far, and he’s been played out of position. Given that our next game is away I would play Raylor on the right as he is more defensive minded than Obertan, and is also an excellent crosser of the ball. Unlike Obertan.
Bring Obertan on late in the game for some pace, maybe.

Comment #36Kadar currently a Hungarian Senior International Player
Santon is a CAPTAIN for the Italy Under 21
Simpson got several Under 21 Caps
Perch was never been called in any level for England and played most of his time at championship club as a RIGHT BACK (simple because he is a below average player)

Comment #37Brutooon-that is all true. Simpson is too small to play CB and Santon has barely played in the Prem and is still getting settled to the pace/physicality. Perch will be one CB, Pardew has already said that, so no negotiations there. While I want Santon to play alongside Perch to help out it just won’t happen, this week at least.

Comment #39Have to say, whenever obertans played against a slow left back he has performed well, blackburn at home and stoke away, but against left backs with pace he hasnt a clue such as wigan-figaroa and chelsea-cole, do
