News today that Newcastle are interested in 20 year-old French winger Guigamp’s Anthony Knockaert.

The Frenchman has so far played 9 times for the French U20 side and has scored 4 goals, and he has been scouted by Graham Carr, Newcastle’s Chief Scout, who is after more bargains in the French leagues.
The news is that Newcastle scouts have been keeping a close eye on the Roubaix-born winger’s progress this season.
Guingamp are doing well this season and are 3rd top of the French second division, with 28 points from their 16 games, just 5 points behind leaders Clermont.
It’s interesting that Monaco are rock bottom on 11 points, after being relegated from the French top division only last season.
There are many clubs said to be tracking the youngster but with Newcastle United’s name being like gold in France don’t put it past Newcastle to be the one who brings the lad to Tyneside.
Anthony, who is 5’9″ tall, has played 18 times this season for Guingamp and has two goals and two assists, and the right-footed player usually plays on the right wing.
According to transfer-market, a football site in the UK, he is said to be worth around £175K.
Anthony signed for Guingamp from Lesquin in 2009, and has appeared 39 times for the French club with 4 goals and 5 assists.
His contract runs out in the summer of 2013, and Alan Pardew is said to be hoping to bring in the impressive 20-year-old for a reasonable fee, as Newcastle go all out to strengthen their squad.
