We Need To Give Newcastle Fans A Gift

It was good to have Argentine International winger Jonas Gutierrez back last Saturday.

Jonas Gutierrez – a gift to Newcastle fans against Swansea

Jonas was sent off at Old Tr afford when he picked up two yellow cards and missed the Chelsea game because of his one game suspension.

And like most fans, the 22 capped Argentine wants Newcastle to get back to winning ways on Saturday, when the lads entertain a decent Swansea side at St. James’ Park.

Maybe it’s because Christmas is coming, but Jonas says that he wants to give Newcastle fans a gift of all 3 points:

“We now have to give a gift to the fans. We want to give all the supporters who have followed us all season a boost.”

“Swansea is a good opportunity for us to return to winning ways. We need a win because we have not picked up three points for four games.”

“When that happens you start dropping down the table and we cannot let his happen,”

Swansea have been very good when they have played at the Liberty Stadium this season in the league, and in 8 home games have four wins, three draws and only one defeat, and have scored 10 goals and conceded only two.

But on the road it’s a different kettle of fish, so to speak,  and the Welsh side have no wins, two draws and five defeats and have conceded 18 goals while scoring only six in their seven road games.

Swansea are in a decent 11th place in the league, and have earned 15 of their 17 points at home, so the conventional wisdom is that Newcastle should be able to win this game.

That’s even though we will have only one recognized center-back in the starting eleven on Saturday – captain Coloccini – unless Mike Williamson surprisingly makes the game, or that Pardew recalls Tamas Kadar, which also seems highly unlikely.

Of course, things don’t always go to plan (dam it!), but it does seem an excellent chance to get the Newcastle bad-wagon back on the road, which 3 points would certainly do.

And then next Wednesday evening, Newcastle have another chance to take all 3 points, when WBA are the visitors to St. James’ Park.

Wonder if Mike Williamson can make that game?

Howay The Lads!!

For me I’d like to see Tavernier brought back in, the kid looked very good in pre season and he can also play as a centre half

    @planb

These are players bought for little money and are squad players. Sure they’ll be replaced with better eventually but building a team takes time and planning.

Until they do leave Smith, Loven, Perch etc need our support if they are called on to wear the shirt.

@JackButler- Tevernier has some stipulation in his loan deal where he has to spend a certain amount of days at Wednesday before he can return but he needs to be considered when he returns. The team could look like this before long. Then we add in our new pieces as they come in.

    Krul
    Tavernier Colo Williamson Santon
