An update on my health situation - we have terminated the PluVicto treatment halfway through, because of the severity of the side effects - diarrhea, vomiting, and acid reflux.
And there was no evidence the treatment was having any positive effect in stopping the prostate cancer from spreading in the bones.
There are no treatments left for me to go on.I will go into home hospice care now and will have a hospice nurse visit me at home regularly to ensure I am as comfortable as possible and we will treat the side effects of the treatments I have had.
It's down the final stretch now, and I have run out of treatments, and nature will now take its course.
I hope Newcastle can get many wins this season from now on, and I am at peace with all of this.
Thanks for all your help through the years - it's very much appreciated

Comment #3Cabaye looks a different player alongside Tiote gets forward a lot more.Thought Best didn’t look up for it today.Obertan is trying too hard to impress needs to get ball in box quicker. Not a Perch fan but did ok today even though not really much to do,his long balls are poor though needs to keep it short

Comment #15If Pardew can’t trust HBA to play for us at the moment or doesn’t believe he is fit enouigh, maybe he should consider loaning him out for a couple of months to another premiership side.

Comment #16loaning HBA out? are you mad? it’s bad enough he’s not our starting winger, now you want to loan him out to competition?
We missed HBAs creative spark today because I found it really difficult to pick out a MOTM. We were as poor as I’ve seen all season.
Tiote’s body languge was worrying too. Seems as though he’s got a bad attitude, throwing his arms up in the air at everything wrong anyone did. If it stays like this with him, the sooner he’s gone the better imo

Comment #17Matty i was calling for Pardew to start with HBA today instead of the lumbering Best…when is Pardew planning to play him if he isn’t prepared to start him against norwich or swansea? Is he gonna wait until we are 5-0 up in a gamne then bring him on? So the only way Pardew is gonna give him game time is by loaning him. Anyway we are a mid table team so the competition doesn’t really matter right?

Comment #19Gorganzola you along with many others on this blog no nothing about football and spout rubbish.
Perch was solid enough today and did what he had to do well. Obertan especially in the first half was outsanding. For me we need a st of the hernandez mould, i would bet my life on it if we had hernandez with his positioning in the box today we would have won by two or three easy. Santon should have cemented his position. Colo for me is probably one of the best cbs in the PL definately in the top five.

Comment #20Matty are you for real? the lads played well today and at one stage the posession stats were 80% in our favour. With a bit of luck and maybe a clinincal st intead of best we would have won this game easily. Overal was a good team perfmance and very unlucky not t come away with the three pts.

Comment #21newcastle dominated, thought santon was very good and perch did well, so lay off him, bit support and he will be a good squad player, need someone to compliment ba, and i thought the game was crying out for HBA to come on, and happy christmas ED, great blog mate

what a 1st half!
We should have been up with 3 or 4..
Santon looks hell of a player.. Could become the best left back for us ever..
Coloccini looked very very very good.. World class player he is!
Perch was good today i think!
And our world class striker, Demba Ba… Wauv!!!
If he keep playing like that for the rest of the season, we might not be able to keep him…
Deserves to be thought over, when NUMBER 9 is in our discussions!
1 point and no goals conceeded, is progress, but by god we should have won big with that 1st half!

Comment #24.Strange as it may seem, James Perch was one of Newcastle’s best players today.
C’mon disagree with me !

Comment #25why is Santon murdering everyone else for best player? Demba Ba was outstanding today , he has everything and was really unlucky to not score, Santon was solid and had a good game, but not motm , would like to see him gain some confidence and go at the full back instead of being barry back pass, but still solid display

Comment #26We need:
1 New Striker
1 Left and Right Winger
1 Quality left back
Then we’ll be a force. We already have a good team but 4 more additions will make us push for Top 4 or 6 and become a threat which will lead a very good finish by the end of the season

Comment #27Pards spent cash on Oberton, which means he will be first choice over HBA, which is crap! Oberton is in the wrong job, he would be a great linesman as he is good at running in a straight line, however he cant pass he cant cross the ball and he certainly can not shoot. I thought Ba looked great today along with Colo,Cabaye and Santon.
Some joker on here today said Oberton was outstanding, yeh rite!! when was the last time you saw him beat his man and make a cross? I’m not talking about today, I’m talking about ever!!!!

Comment #28I know I’m not the first to express concern on this one but this game should have been dead and buried by halftime. It wasn’t so…that begs the question.
What is the problem concerning Hatem Ben Arfa. The game is crying out for someone who can do the unpredictable, unlock doors, whatever cliche you want to apply. HBA, perhaps the man in the squad best suited to undoing a park-the-bus defence is foever sitting on the bench looking understandably glum. So there must be a problem with him, either physical or attitudinal. If not, then there is most certainly a problem with Pardew’s increasingly stubborn insistence of bringing on the Ameobi Bros and just about anyone else on the bcnch before HBA. We’ve got to see once and for all whether this kid is as good as we thought. And the only way Pardew, we, anyone will ever know, is during time on the pitch.

Comment #29And that guy wasnt a starter until last week :O
Stupid Pardew.
HBA if is 100% fit he must play too. He may still tries to find hes old self, but at least needs minutes, especially if the team needs creativity in attack, like today. Both Jonas and Obertan was weak delevaring balls to strikers.
