In the last three games Newcastle have been missing one thing that previously was in good supply in the Newcastle side.
Yohan Cabaye – returns to the side on Monday
And that is discipline, which was sadly missing against West Brom on Wednesday night, as Newcastle gave away three sloppy goals and lost the game 3-2.
And it even looked like Newcastle would go on and win the game on Wednesday night, after coming from behind twice.
Demba Ba scored his second goal of the game on 81 minutes, to level the scores at 2-2, in front of over 51,000 fans at St. James’ Park.
And since Newcastle had been pressing all of the second half, it looked like Newcastle could go on and get the third winning goal – probably from Demba Ba again.
But what happened?
Newcastle lost their concentration and conceded a terrible third goal, and basically handed West Brom a terrific victory for them, and once again a team below Newcastle got something out of the game with the Magpies.
Alan Pardew seems well aware that he needs to get more discipline back into their game:
“I don’t think confidence is a factor just yet,” “I think the discipline of the team needs to get back to where it was.”
“We just got a little bit desperate for the win, and I think that showed in some of our play.”
“We were over-committing players in dangerous situations, and they turned one of our opportunities into a goal, and again for a winning goal.”
“We’ve got to be more controlled in attack.” “I’m sure that’s tweaking rather than anything major.”
We have to hope the defense is solid again with Mike Williamson hopefully back in the side in place of James Perch, and that Frenchman Yohan Cabaye can stamp his authority on the game and finally that the great Demba Ba can keep scoring those fantastic goals for us.

Comment #3We need a lot more than concentration.
We need competent cover for Saylor.
We need Tiote back on form.
We need HBA to START (And no i don’t think he’s god but I do think he’s one of two world class players we are lucky enough to have in our squad that’s capable of unlocking ANY defence in the Premiership)
We need Obertan to have a lot more self belief cause believe it or not I think he has got what it takes to turn it around and become a very valuable player.
We need to seriously acknowledge the urgency of at least 4 new signings in the transfer window players.
And we need the fans to make St James the intimidating ground of past years.

Comment #4Such a shame Raylor will have to start. I’m betting an LB and CB is what we’re looking at, i really doubt we’ll go for a striker at this point, other areas are more important.
All we can do is hope atm.

Comment #5We need a quality backup centre back vertonghen will do nicely if we can tempt him into the PL.
Then there is one play we need above all others, the next big thing, the next sturridge…….Junior Hoillett, we need to pull out all the stops to get him!

Comment #7Anybody who thinks we dont need another striker in is a complete fool, do a very simple thing and take out all of demba ba’s goals this season and see exactly where we are without them. Another striker along with at least another top quality CB is a must if we are to keep the position we have now

Comment #8We absolutely need a new striker! BA is off to Africa to play 6-7 games on rock hard, awful pitches with his glass knees! Itl be a miracle if he comes back fit! Disappointed maiga fell thru, though im not sure we’ve heard the last of that! Same with erdinc! In a position now where aslong as carr has recommended a player, we can be excited about them!

Comment #17OK, Cissokho is availlable. But it’s certainly not a good news. Santon make far better cross with his left foot…

Comment #18However niafron….could be good to get him in…whack Santon on the right since Simpson is probably going, and Cissokho on the left. BOOM!!! Problem solved..a world class LB and RB

Comment #20Except Cissokho ISN’T a world class LB. There’s a lot of LB in the world, so i hope the staff will carrefully consider such a deal.
Anyway, the french press seem to believe NUFC isn’t interested anymore.
They say Cissokho is expected to sign in Russia.

Comment #21Everyone is in a panic about Ba going to ACN. Are we the only team in PL to lose a player for this competition? I doubt it. As I said yesterday. We lost Carroll and a player (who seems to get a bit of knocking on here stepped up to the plate). Yeah Best. I also note that there is no panic about Tiote going to ACN. Looks as if we have accepted he’s going to pastures new anyway. I admit with Ashley in charge it’s getting harder and harder to be positive. But I think I can find a happy medium between positive and negative.

Well mate, never said Santon is top class. Just said he’s better with his left foot than cissokho who is left footed…
So, if Santon himself isn’t a top player…
Well, you get my point i guess?

Some weeks ago, i pointed out this question. Quiet honnestly, i doubt there’s any other team in the league who got a greatest dependence to one player.
I think he’s now more important to the team than Carrol was.
About that, why the club don’t give him the number 9?

Don’t know. But his crosses are a subject of joke in France.
In fat, it was a lot of hope about him. But wether it is with Lyon or the national team, he never make it.
So he’s quick, physical, got some skills. But at the end, he never bringed what an international player got to bring to a team.
Lack of focus, bad crosses… Ans also some behavior’s problems.
So with Jonas, Obi and Simmo already on the wings, i suggest we buy a lad who know how to cross.
