Hatem Ben Arfa Can Get The Job Done For Newcastle

Newcastle will have a challenge when their top striker Demba Ba goes off to represent his country Senegal, in the African Cup of Nations next month.

Ben Arfa – after scoring first goal at Bolton on Monday

But the strikers who will be left, Shola Ameobi, Peter Lovenkrands and Leon Best are the ones who had to step up the plate in February, after Andy Carroll had left for Liverpool, and all three of them came through for Newcastle then.

And that’s why we are fairly confident that they will come through again, and step up to the plate for the Magpies while Ba is away.

And of course somebody who wasn’t available last February, Hatem Ben Arfa, can also fill in for Demba  Ba, and the  Frenchman can certainly hit the net, as he brilliantly showed on Monday afternoon at Bolton,  for Newcastle’s crucial first goal.

Alan Pardew has come out today and identified 24 year-old the French International as one player who can get the job done for Newcastle,  while top striker Ba is off in Africa:

“When Demba goes away, Hatem is going to have to come to the fore, we’re going to need him,”

“He’s finding his feet, he’s had a couple of games and a couple of cameos now as well, and he’s starting to look like his old self.

“He’s had a terrible injury, you must remember that.” “But that goal will have done him no harm whatsoever.”

We are really hoping that Ben Arfa can get back to his best form this season, but we’ll have to be patient, as it was a terrible injury the 24 year-old has had to come to terms with over the last year.

But the signs are very promising that Ben Arfa is getting back to somewhere near his best, and we hope to see more of Ben Arfa’s  best form tomorrow night at Anfield.

And young 19 year-0lds Sammy Ameobi and Haris Vuckic have shown they have an eye for goal too, and could help Newcastle while Ba is away on International duty.

For the record Ben Arfa has appeared 15 times for Newcastle with two goals, since signing  initially on a loan deal  in August of last year, before he was signed for about £5M  on a permanent deal  last January.

I Hope DOGLEASH relegates them really after thinking it was a good idea to break up the shearer ferdinand partnership and selling Ginola and replacing him with the likes of jon dahl tomasson, andreas andersson, ian rush, john barnes, silvio maric, garry brady, carl serrant, des hamilton and many other mishaps and misfits that it was my misfortune to witness pulling on a toon shirt. I hope the scousers get relegated and then lynch the dour glaswegian gimp at the earliest oppurtunity.

    @Harry Hampton
I think Terry is too much of a softcock to play for a prison team. Imagine the tackles going in from the inmates and the ref not giving him the free kicks he would be mightily upset i think:)

Don’t understand the slagging of a trial of this £12k kid. After all it is just a trial. Why not have a look at him. We might be able to buy him for less than what danny simpson earns in a week. Tim Cahil made a very big step up also. I know it wasn’t as big but like I said its just a trial

When Ba goes to Africa this will be Ben Arfa time to shine. I think Pardew has been smart to slowly bring Arfa along after injury with an eye for this part of the season when Ba is gone.

I personally prefer Arfa pairing up with Ameobi then with Best. My thought being that when Arfa makes his runs to the front off the box and slides in a pass Ameobi has a quicker and better foot for goal than does Best. I think Best is better for us in a crossing and long ball game but with Arfa we definitly will be moving through the middle of the pitch more than our usual wing play with Obertan and Jonas.

@ Gallowgate, Don’t forget that Pedro left NUFC for the Cesspool because Dogleash was shaggin his Mrs.

Dogleash got sacked by TOOON and returned to Bin Dippers.

Funnily enough, within a few weeks of Dogleash arriving at Anfield, Beardsley was back at NUFC – there is no love lost there mate.

I got £10 free bet for signing up to a company that sounds like SlyPet & i think i’ve used it wisely, i put it on 2-0 to the Toon & Ba to score 1st it was 180-1 for that not so unlikely combination.
