Here is Alan Pardew’s interview with the BBC after last night’s fantastic 3-0 win against the Premier league Champions Manchester United.

And yes, here is what Alex Ferguson had to say about last night.

Alex admitted Newcastle scored two fantastic goals, and he gave credit to the Newcastle display.

Well done Pards you got it spot on tonight – and the players did you proud.

“He stays”, Dijon coach Patrice Carteron told French radio station RMC.

“We had a direct approach from Newcastle, but Benjamin is in the same boat as us and we want him to continue to grow and to play for a full season in Ligue 1.

“At the end of the season, of course we’ll let him go, it will be good for him to find stability at a high level.

    “Newcastle’s offer was very high.”

Looks like Mike Ashley may be spending after all!

    -Good point Lance. Credit Newcastle.

-They weren’t allowed to have a good one, in my opinion. Newcastle were all over us. Never allowed us time or space.

-The seeds for this match were sown when we didn’t buy a world class or even adept playmaker in the summer. Newcastle have a great midfield imo, Caybaye and Tiote are brilliant players.

-The best team was picked, problem is we don’t really have enough quality available to beat Newcastle, who are a good team, away from home.

-We were out muscled all over really, in midfield and in defence tonight. 2 goals were punts forward (including Phil Jones OG), other than that Lindegaard had no real pressure/saves. Great freekick by Cabaye too. Good team selection, we just had no proper shape and were generally very sloppy.

-Q:”So…What would you have done differently tonight?”
    A:Not stayed and watched that?

-Cabaye cost 5millions euros, sigh …

-Not sure anything could have been done differently.
Let’s appreciate the barcodes played very well; lot’s of aggressive challenges and closing down of our midfield, which, if we’re honest, is not the strongest in the division by a long shot. At the end of the day they deserved the win.
Their back four were solid and with Rooney & Berba not on the same page tonight we didn’t trouble them much. Other than Simpson’s goal line clearance we created very little and din’t look like scoring.

I thought they hadn’t won in eight games?

    -I thought the real difference tonight was that;
Newcastle defended excellently, were more disciplined and tiote offered excellent protection
We looked very shaky with rio and jones bullied and out classed by Ba and even Ameobi Plus a magic free kick from Cabaye
Fergie will be livid with our defending – one great free kick sandwiched between two long balls into our box not dealt with
    Amateurish defending

    Jimmyxavi – Who’s that about?

  • 8 GeordieToon89 // Jan 5, 2012 at 12:10 AM

Oleg – good how the fans are actually saying we deserved the win and not basically saying we only won because of luck

  • 9 GeordieToon89 // Jan 5, 2012 at 12:13 AM

Oh Benjamin Corgnet…. He’s a CM though aint he where would he play for us lol

  • 10 Crab Eye // Jan 5, 2012 at 12:13 AM

nice post oleg. nice to see the flip side sometimes…anyway to add a typical bit of negagtivity to tonight (sorry) thought tiote was perhaps trying to impress his new manager?

24 year old Defensive Midfielder, you mean a Tiote replacement?!

  • 13 LewSpi // Jan 5, 2012 at 12:15 AM

Howay the lads! Still on cloud 9, my seat is right up next to the away fans, awesome atmosphere up there tonight.

Oleg G that’s just the icing on the cake.

    Jimmyxavi what’s that all about??

  • 14 davybtoon // Jan 5, 2012 at 12:15 AM

well what performance from the team cabaye, tiote, ba, santon, willo, colo the stand out players brilliant

gotta say the new virgin money sponsor looks really good

n ppl r trying to make much more of this hba thing than there actually is it is simply down to his work rate that he isnt in the team

  • 15 GeordieToon89 // Jan 5, 2012 at 12:15 AM

Dijon want closer to 8million euros for him so thats around £6million maybe more for a player who plays in Tiotes position

  • 16 Crab Eye // Jan 5, 2012 at 12:16 AM

also corgnet – defensive midfield……replacement for tiote!! again sorry!

  • 17 Toon Tang // Jan 5, 2012 at 12:17 AM

read this whole thing , it hasnt come round often so im basking in it like a pig in shit . hahaha . i might have it made into an audio book thats read by alex ferguson

  • 18 GeordieToon89 // Jan 5, 2012 at 12:17 AM

davybtoon – A still reckon Ben Arfa is a better winger than he is a CAM, he made his name playing on the wing in france and was one of the worlds most sort after young wingers yet he comes here and he all of a sudden categorically can not play on the wing and would rather be kept on the bench haha

  • 19 Rowan Milsted // Jan 5, 2012 at 12:25 AM

On cloud 9 tonight – what a result – so pleased to witness a result like this that will live forever in the memory. Howay the lads!

AMAZING PERFORMANCE !! Well done lads you did me real proud. To think that last match against Liverfool was the worst all season and to play this following match so well and determined it has to be the performance of the season by us.

I was a bit sad to see Shola instead of Ben Arfa but credit to Pardew and the players for putting that superb display of passion, guts, determination and class against the champions.

Ba, Tiote, Cabaye for Man of the Match take your pick. Simpson, Raylor, Santon, Colo, Gutierrez close behind. Hell I’ve mentioned the whole team! lol
I love these MOM headaches and I have been having so many recently long may it continue.

  • 21 soundoid // Jan 5, 2012 at 12:26 AM

    Toon Tang @17,

Wow they are more positive about us than we are LOL!!!

  • 22 alkinou // Jan 5, 2012 at 12:32 AM

I think it’s been a long time since we haven’t put Krul in as a possible man of the match !

  • 23 LewSpi // Jan 5, 2012 at 12:35 AM

Toon Tang @ 17, it’s awesome to read stuff like that, reaffirms that we earned it rather than it just been a complete fluke.
