Davide Santon, Ryan Taylor And Shola Ameobi All Start

Davide Santon and Shola Ameobi are both starters as Newcastle United entertain Manchester United tonight at St. James’ Park.

We expected Davide Santon to start at left back but it’s a bit of a surprise that Shola gets a start, but he must be playing well in training.

And would you believe it,  we had suggested that Ryan Taylor could play on the right wing, and that’s where he will start tonight.

This is what we wrote in our match preview earlier today:

And Ryan Taylor could be a worthwhile right winger for Newcastle, and play in the David Beckham style out there, and he certainly can cross the ball and is great with free kicks of course.

Shola will be up front with Demba Ba and the two of them should form a powerful partnership, and hopefully provide a greater threat than we showed at Anfield on Friday night.

The bench is a strong one in Steve Harper, James Perch, Haris Vuckic, Gabriel Obertan, Hatem Ben Arfa, Sammy Ameobi, Leon Best.

No room there for players like Dan Gosling, Peter Lovenkrands and Alan Smith, and we suspect Danny Guthrie is still not fit.

As expected Lindegaard comes into goal for De Gea who drops to the bench and Carrick, Ferdinand, Rooney, Giggs and Berbatov all start for the Red Devils.

Ferdinand and Jones seem to be the two center-backs.

Newcastle United (4-4-2): Krul; Simpson, Williamson, Coloccini (c), Santon; Taylor (R),Tiote, Cabaye, Gutierrez; Ameobi, Ba
Substitutes: Harper, Perch, Vuckic, Obertan, Ben Arfa, Ameobi (Sa), Best

Manchester United (4-4-2): Lindegaard; Valencia, Jones, Ferdinand, Evra; Nani, Carrick, Giggs, Park; Rooney, Berbatov.
Subs: De Gea, Anderson, Hernandez, Welbeck, Rafael, Pogba.

Bit of a kick in the teeth for Ben Arfa , I personally think its a bit of a negative team, I think we are a much better team when we get at them but we need pace to do that, we have nothing down that right side if that’s where Raylor starts but I think theres a chance we could play santon on the wing.

Man Utd start with one goalkeeper, two defenders, four midfielders and four strikers.
Atleast we’re in with a shout on this, but it’s a perfect playground for HBA to exploit the defensive frailties.
    Dissapointed, otherwise it’s as expected.

I know… beyond belief how Shola is playing; he is totally useless and I’m surprised he has been at Newcastle for so long… we need players with skill who can actually header the ball not big fat shola who fluffs up every opportunity he gets when hes got the ball at his feet.

I hope I’ll be eating my words come the end of this game but I highly doubt that.

Long time reader.. First time poster here.. And the only reason i would like to post is because I’m so sick or pardwho not playing Ben Arfa.. I wouldn’t blame him if he wanted to leave due to lack of playing time.. He was in contention to be in the full france squad before he moved to us.. Pard’s is ruining him..

I dont dislike pardwho.. But his team selections and substitutions infuriate me..

Slightly worried by the fact that they name 4 strikers in their team that i would have in ours everyday. Carrick in defence is our only hope haha hope the geordie does us a favour.

Feel we may get stuffed tonight, hope im wrong but have an awful feeling. Ameobi to start i meet with mixed feelings. Yes he is horse poop but atleast he is a big lad maybe out muscle carrick alot?

I agree Ben Arfa should start but I don’t agree wish bashing Shola, he has scored some important goals for us down the years, and when he’s in the mood can really play.

We are the new Stoke just not as good at it. We are not going to be breaking on the counter today our team is slow as f##k.

Pards stop being a co#k play HBA how long did it take you to realise Tevez was brilliant at West Ham by that point it was too late for them. We could get into Europe but by bthe time the blind t##t realises it could be to late. SHOLA FFS????
