Pardew – Ben Arfa’s Goal The Greatest Goal I Have Ever Seen

Alan Pardew was immediately interviewed after the game this afternoon in which Newcastle beat Blackburn 2-1 in the FA Cup 3rd round tie.

Ben Arfa scoring – Pardew says it’s the greatest goal he’s ever seen

And Alan  said that Ben Arfa’s equalizing goal after 70 minutes was the greatest goal he has ever seen, and most players could never ever score a goal like that.

This is what Alan Pardew said when he was interviewed by TalkSport:

“We had a 30,000 crowd and opposition who were bottom of the league and we were two days from that epic night.”

“It’s about what I expected it to be, to be honest first half – we weren’t really at it and not really at the races and we were a bit disjointed some good things and some bad.”

“We had ourselves a little chat at half time and second half we were superb, really really good – as good as we’ve been.”

“And those of our fans who couldn’t afford to come today, because that’s was probably the reason – would have missed certainly he greatest goal I’ve ever seen from Hatem”

“From a technical viewpoint it was unbelievable and any Newcastle fan should  make sure you see that tonight – it was that good.”

“Then we deservedly got the winner be it very very late.”

And this is what Alan told Sky Sports News immediately after the game:

“We are absolutely delighted to be in the draw for round four,”   “Blackburn knocked us out in the League Cup and we were still smarting from that so it was nice to get them back for that. It was a really important win for us.”

“Some of our play today was outstanding.”  “It was an important game today with Demba and Cheick away today, and to get the win without them was very important.”

“It is technically the greatest goal I have ever seen, you can smash them in from 40 yards but to score a goal like that you have to be a special talent and it was an unbelievable goal and I am really pleased for Hatem,”

“He showed today that hopefully Demba Ba won’t be as missed as we thought.”  “We play a high energy game and he is trying to fit into that and there is a balance there.”

“Hatem has to understand it is about the tem and where we think he is best, but his talent was there for everyone to see today.”  “He is doing everything in his power to make himself a success here and that is great for us.”

It’s good news for Newcastle that we are through to the 4th round, even though the lads were a bit flat in that first 45 minutes.

But after a little chat at half time with the Newcastle manager,  the lads looked a different side in the second half and at the end deserved to win the game.

There were a lot of positives to take out of the game today.

And one of them was the performance of young Italian International David Santon who again looked a very good player for Newcastle, and of course there was also the mercurial Ben Arfa.

Two more very good goals from Newcastle this afternoon to go with the two great goals against Manchester United and two wins in a row at St. James’ Park.

I’ve given up believing what Pardew says about everything to do with transfers. Not because I dont believe him because I think that is really what he thinks. But its because MA and DL will soon turn down his request(s) / go behind his back anyway…

    This little quote here:

“Hatem has to understand it is about the tem and where we think he is best, but his talent was there for everyone to see today.” “He is doing everything in his power to make himself a success here and that is great for us.”

That shows he probably still favours the nr. 10 role, and that’s why AP won’t play him, for HBA it’s either the nr 10 role or nothing, and AP has followed that.
But HBA played on the wing tonight in the 2nd half and my word, did the sleeping giant awake. Hopefully he learns about more about himself and the fact that no player is bigger than the club.
    Imo, Pardew handles him well.

Sounds like Pardew sees Ba in the same role as Arfa – off a target man, that’s why he has barely played, and why he is promised more games now. He has a point in that Ba hasn’t scored (in open play) when partnered with Arfa.. what to do when the big man comes back though eh?

Hopefully he takes note that Arfa scored from the right wing today – so a change to the system isn’t required.. a new striker most definitely is though.

    My case in point:

    MsiDouglas Mark Douglas
But on Ba, evasion from AP. No comment on the release clause, answered his own imaginary question when I asked whether he wanted to keep him

Imagine if the players booed each other! Our team spirit that we pride ourselves on would be gone and where would we be? You can have an opinion, you can even voice it, but, booing is bullying and isn’t constructive critisism, it’s behaviour straight from the playground.

Aw yeah, Apparently the commentators on the radio were saying if Lionel Messi had scored the goal Benny scored today then everyone would be going mental it was that good but because its not Messi it wont be highlighted as much

BiffBaffBoff very true but sometimes bargain buys combined with a scouting system like ours is better than splashing £50m like chelsea did with torres

ANyways the reporter says ‘deals’ and Pardew says ‘yeah, yeah’ in an attempt to brush off transfer talk.. grasping at straws a bit.

Thing is though if we play Ba and Shola upfront together and Ben Arfa on one of the wings a guarentee they will both score more goals than what they would if Benny plays CM, simple fact is that Ben Arfa gets the ball he loves running at people and he’s also got a class delivery and if he doesnt get the cross he always gets up a corner

Look we could spend £2million and end up with 5 players aslong as they make the team better a couldnt careless how much we spend aslong as it improves what weve already got

    dannyo,

did it stop you and others having a go at me?? no so why is it so different for you and others to have a pop at me?? ,

for me there is one person to blame , pardew, he is the manager of a football club, and his job is to the best for the club, not any one player who is low on confidence , i feel he lets everyone of us down when he picks him,,

and to be brutally honest which i normally am about obertan, its not his confidence that is the problem, its he isnt good enough full stop, in any department,

the team has a more balanced look when he isnt in it, pardew should stop trying to force the player to come good, by playing him week in week out, pardew is the one that is ruining obertan, not any fan that boos,

Peter Beardsley – Seconded. Where does the booing come from? It’s embarrassing. Obertan may not make the grade but let’s give him half a chance. Pardew is persisting with him over Arfa – and I think that’s the main frustration. Pardew might have to protect him a little by bringing him on in games.

There is a bullying mob streak – as with any club – Perch, Shola, Boumsong, etc can all testify too.. plenty on here n’all (indian toon, gorgonzola.. cough, cough).

but this is not reality, i mean come on. some players are earning 250k per week, and even poorly paid ones like simpson are on 10k,

at the end of the day its there job, this is part of football, world over

like i said before, barca , when they want to let the board know they want the manager out, the white hankies come out,

HBA assisted Ba with a reverse pass on the edge of the box, not too long ago and put Ba through against Man City. They’ve linked up well at times, considering HBA hasn’t played many minutes. Think people are hypercritical of HBA. But yeah, I agree, he should be out dazzling on the RW in place of Obertan.

GT89 – agrees. Whilst Shola aint scoring enough his hold up play and link up helps us to pin teams back – gives us that outlet. Still think we should have another striker lined up – and have shola coming off the bench. And with that…. I’m away lads.. laters.

if ben arfa starts and we pass how we did against the mancs (didnt see how we passed today) I’m confident of a win against QPR
but if obertan starts on the wing and shola + best upfront we are in trouble lol

so benny has to start for shola/best/obertan

anyone know where we can find highlights or do we have to wait for Ed to find em 😉

I don’t understand why HBA can’t have a free role on the right side? Be officially on the right side, and cut inside the middle when you want to and create those chances. There is no point in playing static football (each player only on his side and area), we need moving, quality football, so what’s the difference anyway?

Dannyo, I agree with you about HBA. He’s been very poor at No. 10 but was different class when he moved out to the right. Maybe he shouldn’t be so stubborn and accept that right side may be his best position cos we definately need someone to play there.

I thought that HBA wouldn’t play on the wing but from what I’ve heard now, he has to start there in place of obertan, bring obertan on late in the second half as I don’t think ben arfa’s stamina is very good.

A dont think Ben Arfa has refused to play on the wing he played there all the time in France and also played there for Hoots.. he’s a natural winger and on the right he cuts inside and tortures everyone but he can also go outside and get a good cross in something Obertan/Jonas cant do… Personally QPR team should be:

    ————Krul
    Simo-Wilo-Colo-Santon
    ——-Abeid-Cabaye
    Benny————–Jonas
    ——–Shola-Best

If Simpson is injured play R.Taylor there, Santon was awesome today again him and Jonas are really starting to understand eachother just like Jonas/Enrique its looking very promising =] But Ben Arfa has to start and has to start on the wing no buts about it.. Hate to say it but a would really start to question Pardew if he doesnt start
