Alan Pardew was immediately interviewed after the game this afternoon in which Newcastle beat Blackburn 2-1 in the FA Cup 3rd round tie.
Ben Arfa scoring – Pardew says it’s the greatest goal he’s ever seen
And Alan said that Ben Arfa’s equalizing goal after 70 minutes was the greatest goal he has ever seen, and most players could never ever score a goal like that.
This is what Alan Pardew said when he was interviewed by TalkSport:
“We had a 30,000 crowd and opposition who were bottom of the league and we were two days from that epic night.”
“It’s about what I expected it to be, to be honest first half – we weren’t really at it and not really at the races and we were a bit disjointed some good things and some bad.”
“We had ourselves a little chat at half time and second half we were superb, really really good – as good as we’ve been.”
“And those of our fans who couldn’t afford to come today, because that’s was probably the reason – would have missed certainly he greatest goal I’ve ever seen from Hatem”
“From a technical viewpoint it was unbelievable and any Newcastle fan should make sure you see that tonight – it was that good.”
“Then we deservedly got the winner be it very very late.”
And this is what Alan told Sky Sports News immediately after the game:
“We are absolutely delighted to be in the draw for round four,” “Blackburn knocked us out in the League Cup and we were still smarting from that so it was nice to get them back for that. It was a really important win for us.”
“Some of our play today was outstanding.” “It was an important game today with Demba and Cheick away today, and to get the win without them was very important.”
“It is technically the greatest goal I have ever seen, you can smash them in from 40 yards but to score a goal like that you have to be a special talent and it was an unbelievable goal and I am really pleased for Hatem,”
“He showed today that hopefully Demba Ba won’t be as missed as we thought.” “We play a high energy game and he is trying to fit into that and there is a balance there.”
“Hatem has to understand it is about the tem and where we think he is best, but his talent was there for everyone to see today.” “He is doing everything in his power to make himself a success here and that is great for us.”
It’s good news for Newcastle that we are through to the 4th round, even though the lads were a bit flat in that first 45 minutes.
But after a little chat at half time with the Newcastle manager, the lads looked a different side in the second half and at the end deserved to win the game.
There were a lot of positives to take out of the game today.
And one of them was the performance of young Italian International David Santon who again looked a very good player for Newcastle, and of course there was also the mercurial Ben Arfa.
Two more very good goals from Newcastle this afternoon to go with the two great goals against Manchester United and two wins in a row at St. James’ Park.
