Newcastle Put £15M Price Tag On Tim Krul

Newcastle United must have been getting some inquiries about their young 23 year-old goalkeeper Tim Krul.

Tim Krul – Newcastle United’s top young goalkeeper

That’s because the news is that the Tyneside club have put a £15M price tag on the goalkeeper who has been in brilliant form for the Magpies this season.

Newcastle have surprised everybody this season, including their fans, with the team currently being in 7th place in the Premier League and starting the season with an eleven game unbeaten run, to equal a Newcastle record that has happened only twice before in the club’s  long  and illustrious history.

Tim won the first team goalkeeper spot from veteran 26 year-old Steve Harper in the summer, and he was also challenged by local lad Fraser Forster who is now spending his second season north od the border at Celtic.

Krul was signed by Graeme Souness back in the summer of 2005 from his local club ADO Den Haag,  and he has so far made 57 appearances for the Newcastle United first team, making his debut back in November of 2006 at Palma in the UEFA Cup

And Tim’s form has not gone unnoticed at the National level, and he made his debut for Holland in the 0-0 draw in Brazil last June, when he had a great game and was Man of the Match.

Tim has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League this term, and has put a number of brilliant performances for the club against the top sides, and not only is he an excellent stop stopper, but he also commands his  box well  too.

London clubs Tottenham and Chelsea are two of the clubs said to be interested in the goalkeeper, but it’s time for Newcastle to hold onto their best players.

That’s because we want to build a top team on Tyneside, and we are not a million miles away from those two clubs this season and of course we have just annihilated the Champions Manchester United only last week. 😀

What do you think?

Also, surely we can hold out for more than 15m? This lad’s gonna be a star.

what did de gea go gor? 20? Of course for a keeper it was a bit inflated but considering everything, we could easily be asking 30 for him to get clubs looking elsewhere……if we were serious

no1 will pay 15m for him yet anyway! and the report said at least 15m, maybe more….and had no actual quotes in it! De Gea cost 18m but had already had a couple seasons as first choice at Madrid and if any of you saw him play there, his form at Madrid was as good as or better than Tims for us! Goalkeepers just don’t fetch that mutch! And the only team looking for a keeper is Spurs as Chelsea signed Courtois to replace Cech and he’s earning rave reviews in spain onload at athletico!

Just as I postef earlier, the words didnt ring true. Manure wouldnt deal with agents that admitted they were tapping up players. As for krul, does anybody think MA lets anybody know how he values his players. Its not how a trader works. If he said 15m then he would probably accept 7m and nobody would let krul go for that. How much did the mackems pay for that keeper.

Well it looks like we may now be selling Ba, Tiote, Krul and Graham CARR…………..
Ashley will be able to have more lovely sports direct signs all over the stadium so you will be able to see them from space.
Would much rather we made a significant statement from the club by buying a decent CB rather than letting other clubs know the most we expect for a fantastic keeper is 15 mill.
\Again history shows this chairman will rather sell than buy. IMO

My perfect transfer window would be to see us get rid of Smith and Loven while getting in Mbiwa, Hoilett and Erdinc. A man can dream.

He is the player i would want to keep above all others. Potential to be best in the world. How often can you get one as good as him so young?

Wouldn’t sell him for £30 million never mind 15.

Please can the board finally start to build a team here. Refuse ALL offers and make a statement of intent that we are here to improve. Add 2 or 3 this window. Don’t have to be world beaters, just give us depth. We can stay in the top 7 and with any luck we could even reel in Liverfool.

I personally would love to see us get Big Andy back. Alongside Demba that would be frightening.

apparently we put the 15m on him to scare people away, if we wanted to scare them away wed say he isnt for sale rather than put a price tag on him,

to me, putting a price tag on him says to me he is for sale but for a high-ish price, not scaring people away

January really is silly season in football. I just wish that every Premier League Club had an agent who deals with all their players affairs. It’s bad news that an agent can get a huge pay day and immediately look to get a transfer for players and get another lump of money.

p.s. I hope Redknapp goes to prison to be violated anally on a daily basis, the piece of shit what he is.

which unrealistic but large offer do you think our chairman will make on deadline day? Seems a toon january tradition! Be it 12m for N’zogbia or 10m with 2 mins left for Bryan Ruiz (dodged a bullet on both of them i’ll add) I reckon…..25m for Lionel Messi followed by a statement saying “we tried and offered a club record amount….but just couldn’t get the deal over the line…..”

15mil is a joke, given his age and ability at the moment plus the potential that he possesses, De Gea 20mil is the bench mark and that make’s Krul worth 28-30mil easily

Just out of curiosity, which of the players which MA has sold, do you guys not agree with? I believe all players who have been sold have been the correct decision, and they have been replaced with equally as good, if not better players.

I think the only player he has sold which weakened the team was Andy Carroll, and even then it was only a short term disadvantage, and I think we are a better team for it now, but let’s be honest, the club couldn’t turn down that sort of money for him, if was a silly offer.

So, I’m just wondering on what evidence some of you guys can say we are a ‘selling club’? Yeah fair enough, we tend to sell high and buy cheap, but the team this year is better than the team last year, the results and league position demonstrates this, surely this is what matters the most? I have a strong suspicion that if we had bought the exact same players in the summer but spent £100 mil on them, a lot of the ‘Ashley haters’ would be licking his AHole right now.

All this talk of potential comings and goings in the press is doing my head in, that is until I saw this little gem.

    http://www.footballgossip.org.uk/index.php/2012/01/11/newcastle-united-transfer-news-toon-give-trial-to-lens-youngster/

I don’t believe in any of the big transfer rumours as Newcastle will remain quiet over thier larger dealings, but if we continue to to get good youngsters then maybe in 5 years we will be an even bigger force to be reckoned with!!

    This headline from Ed:

Newcastle Put £15M Price Tag On Tim Krul

    IS UTTER GARBAGE

NUFC have done nothing of the sort.

Ed – where is the official NUFC statement to back your headline – THERE ISN’T ONE.

You are repeating garbage from the red top press who pick a player in form, decide which club might be interested, and then say that “the club have put an £XM fee on his head”.

    ALL UTTER $HITE.

Ed – you do as much to feed the neggers and Ashley haters as most of the crap journalists – I know you need to write headline that het attention and clicks – but seriously, you want to think twice before sticking this unsubstantiated rubbish up as ‘official’.

We aren’t a feeder club – problem is though headlines like the one above from Ed constantly bang on that we are.

And plenty of fans on here want to believe it through their Ashley hate filled eyes – fuelled ever the more by $hite like NUFC will sell Krul for £15M. Utter garbage.

JB I agree from a footballing point of view, but of we had Barton in the team thi season, do you think we would be where we are now? He’s disruptive, volatile, had zero relationship with the board. He brings the type of attention to a team which is not wanted. The players the board got rid of we’re the individual’s, and hey have been replaced by hard working team players, such as Cabaye and Ba. The club is now bigger than any of it’s players, which is the way it should be, it wasn’t like that with Barton, Carroll and Nolan.
