Newcastle United must have been getting some inquiries about their young 23 year-old goalkeeper Tim Krul.
Tim Krul – Newcastle United’s top young goalkeeper
That’s because the news is that the Tyneside club have put a £15M price tag on the goalkeeper who has been in brilliant form for the Magpies this season.
Newcastle have surprised everybody this season, including their fans, with the team currently being in 7th place in the Premier League and starting the season with an eleven game unbeaten run, to equal a Newcastle record that has happened only twice before in the club’s long and illustrious history.
Tim won the first team goalkeeper spot from veteran 26 year-old Steve Harper in the summer, and he was also challenged by local lad Fraser Forster who is now spending his second season north od the border at Celtic.
Krul was signed by Graeme Souness back in the summer of 2005 from his local club ADO Den Haag, and he has so far made 57 appearances for the Newcastle United first team, making his debut back in November of 2006 at Palma in the UEFA Cup
And Tim’s form has not gone unnoticed at the National level, and he made his debut for Holland in the 0-0 draw in Brazil last June, when he had a great game and was Man of the Match.
Tim has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League this term, and has put a number of brilliant performances for the club against the top sides, and not only is he an excellent stop stopper, but he also commands his box well too.
London clubs Tottenham and Chelsea are two of the clubs said to be interested in the goalkeeper, but it’s time for Newcastle to hold onto their best players.
That’s because we want to build a top team on Tyneside, and we are not a million miles away from those two clubs this season and of course we have just annihilated the Champions Manchester United only last week. 😀
