A win will be very important tomorrow for Newcastle, against a side we should be able to get all 3 points against – Queens Park Rangers.
Of course QPR have a new manager in Mark Hughes, and that may make is a little more difficult for us, but Alan Pardew seems confident enough today.
Pardew says not only is it an important game and he needs the help of a capacity crowd tomorrow, but the lads are in good form at the moment too.
Newcastle have won their last two games against Manchester United and Blackburn at home, and a win tomorrow will make that three on the trot, and take our lads onto 36 points from 21 game s – not too bad at all.
And then we’ll only be 4 points from safety, well that’s one way to look at it.
And QPR last won on Tyneside back in 1993, and that shouldn’t change by 3:30 pm tomorrow afternoon.
This is what Alan told the local Newcastle press today about tomorrow’s game:
“This is a very important game, it mustn’t be underestimated by our fans.” “We are going to need the place rocking.”
“If they come and give us that backing and we get this win, then we really are looking above us in the table – not behind us.”
“It’s a big game – don’t underestimate it.” “It changes the agenda of the team.” “It’s almost like wiping the slate clean halfway through the season for their players.”
“Therefore they will be re-energised and looking to prove to their new employer that they are worthy of their contracts.”
“For us it’s a tough agenda. But we’re in good form and as tough as it gets to play them under the circumstances – it’s tough for them too.”
“We have 50,000 Geordies here cheering on a team in good form.”
Pardew is expecting the London team to have many changes in it, but QPR will be without four of their top players in that Adel Taarabt and Armand Traore are away on African Cup of Nations duty.
Joey Barton is on a three match ban and Alejandro Faurlin is out for the season, with a serious ACL knee injury he picked up last weekend in the 1-1 FA Cup draw with MK Dons.
If Newcastle are going to hold onto their current 7th place in the league and exceed expectations for the season, these are the games we just have to win.
Howay The Lads!!

Comment #3Even though QPR have some important players missing for tomorrows game, Hughes will have them fired up and we’ll have to be at our best. 3 points is a must especially as we will be missing two very important players ourselves
