    @ Gerodietoon

I didn’t say ‘write on this blog everyday’ I said talk about Newcastle everyday

I have a life and the club I support is a part of it. A small part of it but important none the less.

Go back to your bed room and put in your sunderland shirt little man

LIKE IV SAID, I THOUGHT HIS TACTICS WHERE WRONG,
YES WE WON, BUT I THOUGHT QPR WERE THERE FOR THE TAKING,
WE LOOKED LIKE THE AWAY TEAM,

MID FIELD HAD NO SHAPE, EVERYONE SEEMD TO BE ON THE RIGHT SIDE,
BEST THEN DROPPED DEEP, AND PLAYED LEFT WING

shola maybe lazy and slow but hes the only forward we have who can play with his back to goal. to be honest its a thankless task because we dont appreciate players unless they go past 5 and score

those who give more critizing to the team and manager than any1 else should stop recent times are starting to show more and more clear that we are not big enough in depth which will be even more trouble for us if we get in europe because of the amount of tiredness players might be
besides there is only 5 players really missing which are major parts of the team cabye tiote ba saylor marveux
the other injured are not really good enough for a top10 team

in my opinion , shola didnt play well, but he didnt get much support up front and he carnt do it alone,

at least his first touch has improved in 11 years,, mind you only just

The Shola abuse is out of order. He did well today, he held the ball up and provided a focus point for a very fluid midfield behind him.

This follows a game changing cameo against blackburn and a thorough bullying of the Man U back four the week before.

Some people on this site don’t understand football or Sport in general. Pathetic, detatched from reality and time to stop. He is playing well at the sharp end of the premiership. He is what he is but every manager over the past 10 years have rated what he brings to the team. It’s not all about goals.

I for one think he’s a major squad asset.

Shola will never be a Messi or Ronaldo or whoever but he does a job. He was on the pitch for one reason, to hold up the ball and bring other players into the game. Get off his back, support the team and enjoy being 6th.

    HWTL 🙂

anyone wanting to still critsize pardews tactics why don’t you want until the fa cup game if he plays a weakened side and we get knocked out because that is when i would as the fa cup is our best hope of europe and now we are totally safe from relegation.

Krul – 6, Did fine when called upon, not too busy

Simpson – 6, Solid enough, kept qpr wingers fairly quiet

Santon – 7, Solid enough in defence and good attacking.

Coloccini – 6, Did fine from 20th minute onwards

Williamson – 6, Did fine from 20th minute onwards

Gutierrez – 6, Never really looked like scoring or creating anything but worked hard

Raylor – 5, Awful first 20 minutes, got slightly better but by the end of the transfer window he shouldnt start

Guthrie – 7, Poor first 20 minutes, looked better when Ben Arfa came on. Might have something to do with Ben Arfa wanting the ball and making an option !!!

Cabaye – 5, Poor like everyone in the first 20 mins.

Ameobi – 5, Poor to be honest, never looked like scoring

Best – 7, Leon Best really, few signs of a top player, few sloppy bits, nice goal and then tired near the end.

    —————————–

Ben Arfa – 6, Didnt really do too much himself but he lifted the crowd, made other players look better as he actually wanted the ball to feet and made himself available. Centre mids looked a lot better when he came on.

Perch – 6, Didnt have long enough to effect the game, went on a nice 5 minute spell of tackling any QPR player who came near him which was good.

tactics were spot on cant win every game 3 – 0. pardew knew they would race out of the traps like they did so we played more reservedly and soaked up the pressure.. early gone job done. we then relied on our ability as a solid defensive unit to go and poke for a goal.. if we tried to attack from the off they would have had 20 attempts at goal by half time. well done lads

49 goals in 250 PL appearances is telling but Shola has never really had a decent run in the side who he LOVES. Today he did his bit as the target man! I think the Cabaye injury messed with Pardews tactics (because he has no plan B) and then Ameobis role was lost, but He helped set up the goal by being the target man and playing the ball back to Raylor for the pass to Best for the goal so get off Shola’s back! He’s a geordie boy who deserves more credit! He conserves his energy but when given space you know he’ll hit the back of the net!

QPR were as poor as anything we will see at SJP this season, and we didn’t really play through them. There was no fluency to the game and no pace (quick games we look our best).

But let’s be fair here, Spurs would have gladly taken a 1-0 yesterday would they not?

We weren’t at our best but we won. Hope it happens another 17 times to be honest! 36 points and looking up to see who we can reel in! We can still be top 7 when our stars come back from the ACON, and then kick on.

I still think that we need 3 in this window, a young CB, a winger and a rapid forward. we are desperate for some pace up front so we can change things up a bit.

    Gateshead geordie @21

Spot on. We played a long long ball game, shola held the ball up well and rarely gave it away. I sometimes think that some fans have no tactical knowledge whatsoever.

End result, a goal and a clean sheet.

@lordjoe: I used to be a Shola dissenter (still am in my own little ways) but I think it was MacToon who said “how many of those were sub appearances?”. He played second fiddle to Shearer most of his career and, like Best is now doing with Ba, you get the ball to the goalscorer whenever you can and when you can’t, you try to give it to somebody in a better position – that’s what Shola brings to the club. My problem with him is that he’s allergic to running.

Including other competitions, he’s had 318 appearances and 71 goals… still an atrocious record.

Some people seem to be forgetting that this is our second season in the Premier League. Amazing.

Liverpool or Tottenham would have killed for a 1-0 home win yesterday! We got one, they didn’t. So we’re in 6th place!

That’s absolute incredible! So far this has been an absolutely unbelievable season!

But still people just make ridiculous comments about Ameobi on some blog.

    Pathetic!!!

im sorry, shola was aweful today. his minutes in action was about the worst ive ever seen. he held the ball up maybe twice in the game… and that was only when it fell on his head. im not a shola detractor and wont insult bloggers who are just passing on an opinion.

Erdinc will sign on thursday or not at all. If he doesn’t sign then we won’t bring in a striker.

lads we’ve been put down by skybet as 10/1 to sign eden hazard. I’d be chuffed with him like, he’s got bags of quality.

    Krul
    Simpson Willo Colo Santon
    Tiote
    Cabaye Guthrie
    HBA BA Hazard

What a team that would be! Rotate Jonas and Guthrie in CM he’d be class there
