News in the Sunday Sun today that Real Madrid have made an inquiry about Manchester United’s 18 year-old striker/midfielder Ravel Morrison.
Ravel Morrison – Real Madrid now interested
Newcastle have put in a bid for the youngster that has been turned down by the Manchester club, but now there’s news that the Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid may be interested in taking the lad to Spain.
Real Madrid have been in contact with Morrison’s advisers, and they want to know a couple of things – how much would he cost and would he be interested in moving to Spain.
Newcastle seem to be in the driver’s seat for the youngster, but other top clubs like Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham have also expressed an interest in the youngster, who has had discipline problems at the Red Devils.
Newcastle have had one bid said to be around £500K turned down, although the news that the Tyneside club had gone in with an improved £1M bid was apparently not true, although they may still choose to raise their bid.
It seems like his advisers would prefer that he sign on at Newcastle, as a source had this to say about Ravels’ situation:
“There is interest from Real, but Ravel hopes a deal can be done to Newcastle. They are a very big club and it would give him the chance to train with a Premier League first team every day, and possibly get first-team football.”
It’s nice that Newcastle are being referred to as a big club again, at least by Morrison’s advisers.
And it could be that Newcastle are getting a good name because of the way they handle their youngsters, and that they actually give them a chance in the first team.
Newcastle fans seem to be split on the deal to bring the wayward Morrison to Tyneside, and we’ll have a vote on whether we should sign the 18 year-old youngster.
Here it is – let us know what you think.
