Newcastle In Negotiations To Bring Wilfried Zaha To Tyneside

Newcastle are in negotiations with Wilfried Zaha’s representatives to bring the lad to Newcastle.

Wilfried Zaha – could be arriving at Newcastle

With Crystal Palace having been eliminated last night from the Carling Cup at the semi-final stage by Cardiff City, the way is now clear for Palace to let their top 19 year-old move on.

Newcastle have been linked with the player for at least three months now,  and have continually watched him this season, as his bright and skillful performances have also attracted other top clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United.

And Zaha showed all his skills in Cardiff last night,  as he looked what he is – a very exciting young prospect with loads  of skill.

The Evening Chronicle is reporting there are already negotiations under way with the England U19 International’s representatives to bring him to Newcastle.

While Liverpool and Manchester United and maybe other clubs are interested, Newcastle may have the inside track, because they can offer Zaha first team football almost immediately, whereas he would have to wait at Liverpool and Manchester United.

We also understand the youngster is keen to come to Tyneside.

Lee Ryder, the Evening  Chronicle’s top football correspondent,  had sent out a tweet last night from his Twitter account that suggested Newcastle were after the youngster,  and we reported on that last night.

The Cardiff City – Crystal Palace semi final tie went to penalties after Cardiff  had won 1-0 after extra time to tie the scores – and the Welsh side won the shoot-out 3-1.

Here’s the tweet Lee sent out:

“All those asking about Zaha , have been reporting #nufc interest since October, watch this space”

It would be another coup if Newcastle can get the skillful winger/ striker to Newcastle, and with another  center-back brought in as cover before next Wednesday, it will have been a very successful transfer window for Newcastle.

Of course the great Senegal striker Papiss Cisse was brought into Newcastle only eight days ago for around £9M.

Zaha has played 76 times with 6 goals and 7 assists for Crystal Palace, and he has also played twice for the England U19 side.

What do you think?

I have an xbox but I got the rrod! It’s currently getting repaired!

I have football manager as well but I find it hard to play during the window when my thoughts are on real transfers!

I think I’m going to have to have a scan of xhamster!

Anyway in the last thread I was accused of being Craig Beattie of Swansea fame. I am not that big dump of a player. I actually do have a club. Sheff Utd buy I’m only a bench warmer.

    can he play CB……..

All for bringing in quality youngsters that will excite and score goals, problem is we STILL need cover for the big fellas at the back- if this is true i can only assume we have a CB all but signed.

hmmm….. not sure, in parts he looked a bit of a headless chicken. A bit like sammi, lots of tricks but a bit head down and unaware of team mates and often running down blind alleys.
wouldn’t want to pay more than 4//5M tops.

@lee_ryder Ben Arfa to miss training camp because of draw, which took place on Sunday night? Really?

Hmmm, I’m worrying that Pardew is trying to sign Zaha and sell Hatem Ben Arfa. Hatem Ben Arfa is a masterclass.

i haven’t seem anywhere that we are in negotiations with him, he has 18 months on his contract doesn’t he? so surely we can’t negotiate with him unless a bid has been accepted?

i’d be gutted if HBA leaves us.. He really seems to love playing for us.

Maybe Pardew wants to sell him. Which is why he hasn’t been playing him.

it seems as though Pards has some vendetta against him. I’m a big fan but didn’t think he had that great of a game at the weekend….but, i dunno. It’s all been a bit worrying

people say don’t bring it up anymore but it’s hard not to think of Pardew’s handling of Tevez and Mascherano at WH

I have a feeling HBA will be sold too, he needs first team and why Pardew plays shola ahead of him is beyond me!!

    Watched him last night.
Certainly seems to be an exciting box of tricks with great pace and stamina but ran into trouble on more than one occasion trying to do too much on his own.
Seems to have a bit of a temper (or frustration) on him though, when things weren’t going right.
Definitely think, however, that with some good coaching and better players around him he’d be a much more effective and productive performer on the wing than Obertan.
He certainly has more confidence than than the ex-Manure man.

Only seen the lad a few times but looks to have loads of potential could be an excellent signing.Although I think more important to sign a quality cb [not a cover cb] even if we have to pay slightly over the odds for one.

Don’t understand the Ryder tweet – which draw? Pardew either has to entrust Arfa with starts or sell him.. he isn’t the type to take to warming the bench and being used only as a super-sub – followed by an article from Pards about how he’s ‘nearly there’.. summit has to give.

Since we’re looking at Palace I’d like to see Ambrose come back.. only 27 still and would slot straight into the right wing slot.

    @Tendo

I have absolutely no idea. Regardless of what it means, Hatem Ben Arfa has apparently missed the whole training camp in Tenerife, which makes you think he’s been in contact with a different club possibly, but then again, possibly not.

I really, really hope not. Definitely planning on getting his name on the back of our home shirt next season.

Ameobi – why is it beyond you? They play in different positions – apples and oranges. Plus Pardew favours a target man system.

Arfa is a top top player and the only other players in this world who are roughly the same mould is Messi and Silva of Man City, though he hasn’t reach those heights. But with more games i’m sure he can.

How Ameobi starts ahead of Arfa is simply beyond me. His goal at QPR sums up Arfa. Can be anonymous the entire match but only need 1 moment of magic to score. Just like Messi who disappears for 3/4 of the game only to score a hattrick with the 1/4.

    Boater,

Your saying you’d rather have ambrose on the right instead of Ben arfa? i think the talk of Ben arfa leaving us is ridiculous, i for one can’t see it happening, and i think pardew is easing him in after what was a career threatening injury, and he is starting to show the kind of form he is famous for.

i think the way pardew has handled the ben arfa situation is perfect he’s not rushed him into action, he’s eased him in, to give him the chance to shine, whic he’s doing, so in my opinion the RM slot is ben arfa’s for the forseeable future.

its not good that even now on wednesday it doesnt appear like HBA has gone to tenerife… they come back tomorrow surely so its starting to concern me

where’s niafron? cane anyone confirm anything about this french draw? is it a domestic cup draw?

its also strange that AP would let him go to something thats pretty much pointless when the team are going away for team building and bonding.

here’s hoping a pic of HBA turns up today where he’s on a sun lounger suppin a brown ale

Midland Mag – no I’m not. You are adding 2+2 and getting 5. I said the Arfa situation needs to be resolved one way or another, of course I hope he stays and gets starts.

On another note – there are worse right wingers around than Ambrose, who I always rated highly and has been consistently good at Palace.

    Boater,

I think we have to appreciate that while a player of ben arfa’s class is with us there will always be speculation of him leaving, i guess we need to just live with it.

and i agree i always did like ambrose, but i think now there are younger, better up and coming wingers, i still think with a bit of confidence obertan could become a good player for us.

Ameobi – shola played on the right wing for 20 mins as a sub – even then it was in a 4-3-3 system to chase the game. We all want Arfa to start but it’s got nothing to do with Ameobi playing or not in Pardew’s thinking.

honestly dont see the sense in signing this kid seems wer trying to fill our transfer quota of 1 championship player each window as set out in our transfer policy, let vuckic, fergie, sami or even ranger drop down to championship for 6 months this guy is no better than any of em.

I think with Pardew’s rigid 4 4 2 or 4 4 1 1 systems it is difficult to fit HBA in.If Pardew tried systems to fit the players we have like 5 2 1 2 playing wing backs which we have in Simmo Raylor Santon even Jonas and HBA having a lot of freedom behind the strikers, and of course Tiote and Cabaye the midfield.,something different MIGHT work.
