Demba Ba Likely To Start At Blackburn Next Wednesday

With Senegal going down 2-1 last night to Equatorial Guinea, one of the host countries, in the African Cup of Nations, it could be that Papiss Cisse will make his debut at Blackburn Rovers next Wednesday evening.

Demba Ba – likely to start next Wednesday evening

Senegal cannot now qualify from their group, as they have lost both of their opening two matches to Zambia and Equatorial Guinea, both by a score of 2-1.

Senegal play Libya on Sunday night in their final game and will be in Newcastle the next day – and it could be that none of the two even play on Sunday evening.

While the two strikers will be very disappointed not to have done better in the tournament, it’s good news for Newcastle fans that Demba Ba will only have missed four games since being away.

The news is that Newcastle will want to fly the two strikers back immediately following their game on Sunday evening, so they will have time to train with the Newcastle squad before the trip to Blackburn on Wednesday evening.

Its seems that Ba will certainly start next Wednesday,  with Cisse likely to be introduced at some time during the game as a substitute.

Demba Ba has 15 goals in 21 appearances for Newcastle, and it’s a shot in the arm for Newcastle that he will be back so soon.

And we shouldn’t have to wait too long to see Papiss Cisse in action too in that number 9 shirt. 😀

In his club career Papiss Cisse has scored 90 goals in 205 total appearances.

Good news for Newcastle, but of course bad news for Senegal.

I dont think Ba will play,Cisse will probably be on the Bench.

Ba will probably rest up for a few days & then be back for the next game.

Ba has been sent home early in the past so you never know. Cisse will be tested no doubt. Only one of them is necessary to get the win over
    Blackburn.

I said it in the last post but our reserves have to be up there with the best in the league. I’m sure no-one in the squad for Man U tonight is older than 21. I really wanna see some on Yven Moyo and Joan Simun Edmundsson. Hopefully we get a few loaned out to half decent teams that’ll give them games.

Alrite guys…bad news for Senegal but good for us….I doubt Cisse will play against blackburn, Pardew should give him his debut in a packed St James….1 give him a good atmosphere to be introduced to us and 2 itll give him some chance to train with the first team…just a thought!!

Really mouthwatering propect to think of Benny, Ba and Cisse playing up top in a 4-3-3.

We are probably only 3 players short of having a world class team

    Krul

    Santon, Colo ? ?

    Tiote, Cabaye ?

    Benny Cisse BA

The next 2 games are make or break for the rest of our season In my opinion. So can’t really afford to rest to many 1st teamers. Brighton is a banana skin we would definitely have slipped on, in years gone by. Were all thinking the worst, its the cup and its newcastle, feeling nervous already!!

    @Demba_Ba

If the winner of the LC and FA cup finalists all finish in the top 5 of the league then 6th, 7th & 8th would qualify for Europe.

So if, for example, Liverpool win the LC but finish 10th (we can only hope) then 6th & 7th place in the league would want the FA cup finalists to be top 5 league finishers as would have qualified into Europe already, by way of league position. While, 8th (in this example) would miss out…..and so on.

    Does that help?

i rather save both them for the home game against villa.

either one would be jet lag, need some rest etc.

but the most important, let the blackburn been a “testimonial” for our Shola SHit Ameobi !!!!

    @ Gorgonzola (14)

Tim Ream will never be good enough to play in the premier league. He has above average distribution but he’s like a slightly worse Williamson defending. Weak in the air, no pace and below average positioning.

Probably still an upgrade to Perch though…
