Newcastle Cool Their Interest In Manchester United Youngster

Newcastle will not be signing Ravel Morrison from Manchester United in January.

Ravel Morrison – Newcastle have cooled their interest

Newcastle did make an offer for Morrison a few weeks back, and it was said to be around £1M but it was rejected by the Manchester club.

And the Newcastle Journal is reporting that the Red Devils rate the 18 year-old youngster at £4M, even though he has never played in the Premier League and has only three appearances in the Carling Cup.

One reason Newcastle have cooled their interest in the 18 year-old is they can not offer him much first team football after Papiss Cisse has been brought into the squad.

And Frenchman Ben Arfa is showing some of his top form, and has scored three goals for Newcastle in his last five appearances – all excellent goals.

And the news is that manager  Alan Pardew has some reservations about Morrison’s  character and how he would fit into the squad – which has shown tremendous team spirit all season.

Indeed the lads came back from Tenerife in the Canary Islands last night, and the news is that the trip was very successful, and that the team spirit has been further deepened, and that sounds good.

Newcastle may go back for the lad in the summer, but he may have moved on from Manchester United by then, with Roma said to be interested in taking the player.

Ravel Morrison will be a free agent this summer, so if  the Magpies can agree personal terms they may go back in for him, since it seems Newcastle are also trying to tie up some deals now that will be executed in the summer.

Ravel has a troubled character, and that may have put Newcastle off the player, who has mercurial skills.

What do you think?

More to this story as player was definately in toon a couple days back! Reckon we’re trying to agree personal terms to pick him up free in the summer! A tribunal would rule his value less than 1m because of how little he’s played! Not to mention man Utd only developed him from like age 15 and not 6!

GT89 _ you hit the nail on the head there – it is impossible to interpret or predict exactly what we will do.

It does make it more exciting, however i am now onto the flesh of my fingers after nibbling past my nails.

I have no doubt that we will bring in a CB tbh however who he is, where he is from, his capabilities etc is impossible to predict.

    Keep the faith, AMEN

What’s the rule about agreeing terms with Brits and British based players within the last 6 month of their contract?

I believe you can go ahead and negotiate directly with the player and basically have a contract in place so that they are basically already signed. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Yann M’Vilas agent is WB-Sportmanagement. The represent players such as:

    Mamadou Sakho
    Benoît Trémoulinas
    Antoine Griezmann
    Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa
    Franck Tabanou
    Cheikh M’Bengue
    Yacine Brahimi
    Cédric Bakambu

Maybe we have bit for Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa 😉 would make sense.

You can talk to the player without permission if they have less than 6 months left and they can sign a precontract if they play from a club outside the premier league

Hope you are onto something there, seems a bit too much of a coincidence and Yanga-Mbiwa is allegedly a very good player !

Don’t know if we bit for any of them. Does anybody know?

Mbiwa is of all the defenders we have been linked with is by far the best and most obvious choice.
He is 22, he captains his team and would’nt be sitting on the bench because he is so adaptable and capable of playing anywhere across the backline.
He can bring the ball out of defence like Colo and is fast, strong and skillful.
He is one for the future but is well capable of holding down a regular place in the team and would even when Staylor returns from a long term injury, he could also release Santon and allow him to play in his best position on the right so he can give Arfa the defensive cover he needs to attack the oppositions defences.

This could very well be but in all things Transfer related unless we have quotes from AP, MA or DL, we can’t rule anything out, mark you if we sign him great if not no worries. But based on the kids twitter account he never asked for 30k a week and unlike Obertan and Smith and Simpson that we got off ManU with no issues i say this kid is the real deal hence SAF holding firm.

4M for an unproven kid that is yet to play in the Premiership!! Fergie is just as disillusional as Harry Redknapp.

We could try a 1M deal with add- on bonuses depending on appearances.

I much rather we sign Elia from Juventus.

If Alex Ferguson cannot sort the boy out or deems him too much trouble to sign a new contract we should steer clear of him.

I’d much rather we sort Ranger out as he has bags of skill, can unlock defences and just needs firt team football.

As for defenders, if we are going to spend this window we should either get Bassong on loan as cover or we should invest some money and buy Eliaquim Mangala as he can play at LB or CB and has bags of quality and potential.

I’m looking forward to the Villa game as it’s on Sky and with Ba and Cisse it’s going to be very interesting.
