Newcastle will not be signing Ravel Morrison from Manchester United in January.
Ravel Morrison – Newcastle have cooled their interest
Newcastle did make an offer for Morrison a few weeks back, and it was said to be around £1M but it was rejected by the Manchester club.
And the Newcastle Journal is reporting that the Red Devils rate the 18 year-old youngster at £4M, even though he has never played in the Premier League and has only three appearances in the Carling Cup.
One reason Newcastle have cooled their interest in the 18 year-old is they can not offer him much first team football after Papiss Cisse has been brought into the squad.
And Frenchman Ben Arfa is showing some of his top form, and has scored three goals for Newcastle in his last five appearances – all excellent goals.
And the news is that manager Alan Pardew has some reservations about Morrison’s character and how he would fit into the squad – which has shown tremendous team spirit all season.
Indeed the lads came back from Tenerife in the Canary Islands last night, and the news is that the trip was very successful, and that the team spirit has been further deepened, and that sounds good.
Newcastle may go back for the lad in the summer, but he may have moved on from Manchester United by then, with Roma said to be interested in taking the player.
Ravel Morrison will be a free agent this summer, so if the Magpies can agree personal terms they may go back in for him, since it seems Newcastle are also trying to tie up some deals now that will be executed in the summer.
Ravel has a troubled character, and that may have put Newcastle off the player, who has mercurial skills.
