It’s a real shame that Yohan Cabaye has been hit with a violent conduct charge.
Yohan Cabaye – after scoring against Manchester United
And it’s a very high likelihood that he will miss the next three games, but we should know by 6:00 pm tonight.
That’s when he and Newcastle have to decide whether they will appeal the charge, otherwise it will be an almost automatic three match ban.
So if that happens he will miss the next three games at Blackburn Rovers, at home to Aston Villa, and on the road at Tottenham Hotspur.
So who comes in tomorrow night for Cabaye is a good question, and you can take you pick between Ryan Taylor, James Perch, Dan Gosling, Mehdi Abeid and Haris Vuckic.
The way in which Ryan Taylor filled in for Cabaye at home to QPR a few weeks back, when Cabaye was stretchered off with an ankle injury, would make him a good candidate.
But at some point Alan Pardew has to give young Dan Gosling another start, so he has a chance to prove himself.
Dan has struggled at Newcastle since he joined eighteen months ago as a free agent from Everton, and at the time he was still recovering from his serious ACL knee injury.
He made only one appearance at Sunderland last season, and so far has 11 appearances this season with three starts and one goal, and the Brixham-born player turns 22 tomorrow.
It would be a birthday present for Dan if Alan starts him at Ewood Park tomorrow night.
Who would you play tomorrow if Cabaye is suspended?

Would you not protest if Hoilett and Samba were leaving and all that was coming in was Bradley Orr?

Comment #18Abeid for me gosling may come good but Abeid already is solid and seems defense conscious which is what we have been missing in midfield lately. If you gonna put gosling in give guthrie a break

Comment #24The one thing we don’t do is sign someone for the sake of signing someone, would rather wait and bring in someone who can take us forward and make us stronger rather than signing someone who after a few games will be slagged off for being useless

About what you wrote in the last post about Morrison, maybe we just didn’t want him? Lets face it, he is not an easy lad to have in the club, have some discipline problems, so, maybe the club said that they don’t want a guy like that.
