We see Adrian Mariappa is starting the game for Watford at Milwall tonight in the Championship.
Adrian Mariappa – starts at Milwall tonight – means no deal?
So that hardly gives any time for the player to complete a move to Newcastle, if indeed he is to come through the door at Newcastle before 11:00 pm tonight.
The game will finish at around 9:45 pm, which gives a little time for him to do get a medical and to sign the contract, but it must now look very unlikely he will be joining Newcastle tonight.
The news on both Sky Sports and in the Daily Mail is that Watford agreed a fee with Wigan Athletic for the player, but Adrian did not want to join the Lancashire club, and the news being reported is that he really wants to join Newcastle.
But of course that will not happen unless Watford and Newcastle reach an agreement on the fee, and with the lad starting at the New Den in 15 minutes time, that must not have happened.
But you never know of course, and maybe if a deal is reached he will be substituted during the game, then rush off and get a medical in London somewhere, and sign the deal.
But if a deal was imminent, surely he would not have started this game.
Maybe nobody is coming through the door tonight at Newcastle.
