An update on my health situation - we have terminated the PluVicto treatment halfway through, because of the severity of the side effects - diarrhea, vomiting, and acid reflux.
And there was no evidence the treatment was having any positive effect in stopping the prostate cancer from spreading in the bones.
There are no treatments left for me to go on.I will go into home hospice care now and will have a hospice nurse visit me at home regularly to ensure I am as comfortable as possible and we will treat the side effects of the treatments I have had.
It's down the final stretch now, and I have run out of treatments, and nature will now take its course.
I hope Newcastle can get many wins this season from now on, and I am at peace with all of this.
Thanks for all your help through the years - it's very much appreciated

Comment #1Now video lowlights this time Ed?
Hehe, just seen Pardews verdict on the match, and he claims luck won it, which is VERY true.
But who cares, we’re 5th and we’re getting 2xDemba back on Sunday 🙂
I predict goals galore!

“We had a bit of criticism about the Brighton game and we lost Cabaye, the two Senegal boys couldn’t make it, and we still won.
“Great credit to the players and particularly to James Perch. I left him out even though he was excellent at Brighton.
“But he came into the midfield for the second half and we looked a lot stronger in there.”
“We’ve got such resolve in the squad.
“To get a win on the back of Brighton was brilliant and we can look forward now to the end of the season.
“We’ve got a tremendous opportunity that we want to try and take.
“We’ve gone up to fifth tonight – it’s an outstanding achievement from this football club.”

Comment #4Great TEAM effort – won despite the officials – who I don’t think had a good game.
You have to give the manager credit for changing it when it was not working.

Comment #7I never usually complain, but that was honestly one of the mos biased refereeing performances I’ve ever seen.
I was certain he was going to blow for offside against Obertan at the end there!!

Comment #9Some people who comment on here haven’t got a clue! How can you be so negative? fair enough we weren’t at our best, but Blackburn are not a bad team at home! Look at some of the points theyve picked up there this season, weve took more points today than what Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea have together!! We won the match, yet people still have the indecency to call Pardew! So what if we didn’t deserve it, to call Pardew is ludicrous, how many of you negative fans could have dreamed of being in this position at the start of the season????? SCREW THE NUT! HWTL

A lot of people constantly comment on Pardews negatives, that is one hell of a positive to me.
I’d like to see any other manager get so much out of Perch, Guthrie & Raylor – three players who had barely had a look in for months and months.

Comment #12Saw that chronicle article – an unamed source? Hmm guess we’ll wait and see, but developing young players is the way forward, from a financial rules and the 25 man squad rule perspective.

Comment #13I’ve always believed in obertan he went down hill but it’s time for him to come back up and he’s on his way he will thrive trust me he’s got a lot of years left.
Ain’t just because of that one goal. next season he’ll be class with his speed and he will master his passing and confidence

Krul
Simpson Williamson Colo Santon
Ben Arfa Guthrie Perch Jonas
Ba Best/Shola
That’s what I’d go with. Maybe give Cisse a run out – but it would be dangerous to do so at the possible expense of 3 points, given that he’s never trained with the team.

raylor does not. he did poorly in that CM role and he offers very little down the right unless we’ve worked our way deep towards the byline which we’ve maybe done twice in the last four matches

I was thinking Best as well. Problem is that last season he was a bit of a saviour – made us all feel better when Carroll left. But the quality of our squad has absolutely shot up, and it seems that he’s gone from 1st choice to 3rd/4th choice in 12 months.
But still, he’s there when we need him – although he was poor first half today.

Comment #26My team for Villa guys:
Krul
Simpson Willo Collo Santon
HBA Perch Guthrie Jonas
Ba Cisse
…no doubt neither of them will last the full 90mins so Obertan to come on around 65/70mins and maybe Best or Loven later. What do you guys think?
bye bye Shola
Feb 1, 2012 at 11:34 PM
Comment #27For the Villa match Best and Shola shouldn’t play at all after screwing their chances in the last couple of matches. I would play 1 upfront in Ba or play Obertan or Lovenkrands with Ba.

Comment #28i’ll put ten down that HBA gets dropped again. it’s hard to argue against pardew today when so many people will have your head just because we won. the thing is, yeah, we won against an extremely poor blackburn side who bossed the entire game from start to finish. we did not have a single good spell. i’d rather lose and draw over a prolonged period of time as long as we’re playing good football. currently we’re not i think that’s worthy of critique
but what’s worrying is there’s been nothing done to rectify the sinking since fulham, simple as.

All we want is to win ever game, playing fantastic free flowing football, and never conceding. Is that too much to ask from Pardew, even though he’s spent -£25,000,000 net. Is it?
And we also want to abuse Ameobi, even when he’s put in a decent shift, because we’re all too f#cking dumb to see what good work he does.
We also want HBA to play 90 minutes every game, even when he’s absolutely dreadful. And when he’s bad, we’ll just blame the other players – it can’t possibly be his fault.
That’s what we want (;

there’s been nothing done since fulham to show we’re headed in the right direction though! yeah we get the dembas back for sunday but our midfield was a shambles today and pardew obviously didn’t try anything out new today, he stuck with the same system that got us beat the last two matches. it’s infuriating! he simply will not learn

no, shola is dreadful. you’re glorifying the one decent knockdown and one decent hold-up play he’s apart of because he’s either non existant for the rest of the match or losing possession or stumbling over his own feet. a ‘dreadful’ HBA is down to Pardew’s lack of yet figuring out what to do with him and how to play him properly. taking him off on 45minutes twice now is no more than a smack in the face. learn how to incorporate him CORRECTLY or we might as well get shot of him now and not let him waste his talents defending deep and playing alongside players who know f***all about proper movement

i cannot say the same for pardew’s tactics and his lack of balls. play the game, don’t sit back after an extremely fortunate first goal take on heaps of pressure for absolutely no reason. his fear of losing far outweighs his ambition to play the game and win the right way. this is entertainment afterall, not an annual battle. let us be entertained for chrissakes
