Phil Dowd put in one of the most one sided refereeing performances I’ve ever seen.

I was half expecting him to blow up for offside on Obertan at the end!

So seeing as he was probably the most effective outfield person on the pitch, I pick him as MotM.

    Congrats Phil.

Krul, just edges it, unbelievably past Perch, who without a doubt was our next best player.

Coloccini was a spartan today. So proud of him to be our captain.

Well todays performace is hardcore worrying possibly the luckiest game we ever played…

Whats the bet Pardew will start with Ba and Ameobi come Villa then sub Ba for Cisse…. I wouldn’t put it past him…

Luck was on the side of Pardew today as the Fulham game his poor decision making cost us. Obertan was a brilliant sub but came waaaaaaaaaay to late and so did Loven..,. We easily could have been 3:1 down by then.

I think they should draw up a petition to never play Shola Ameobi again now that Cisse is here. Wonder what the result would be…

Loven was the surprise winning balls playing well opening space and passing a hell of a pass to Obertan, why hasn’t Pardew played him before is beyond me….

I reckon summer time ship Best he has had some great chances at the Fa cup clash and scoring 0 out of four solid chances…. He is not a finished, would do the same with Shola but since they extended his contract nothin we can do.

I hope Pardew shows some patience with HBA as he does with Oba, he wasn’t PISS POOR today he over did it once but that nearly could have been a second goal. Its obvious him and Guthrie where doing the attack today…

Jonas was a bit tired again I wish he would wake up a but showing some brilliance but running out of steam and some poor last touches…

Perch was ok but didn’t really do a hell of a lot other than become a stop gap we easily could have drank 3-4 goals second half so wonder if there would be praise for him…then…

Other than that hope we improve heavily for the upcoming games…

    HWTL!!!!!

    @ToonIcon

I am glad your happy and we all appreciate the 3 point.

But you seem easy to please – I wonder how you’ll react if we play like this and loose

not a case of being happy but we were without Staylor,Tiote,Ba, and Cisse (he may not played for us yet but is quality and has pace )also Cabeye out so thats 5 first team starters out and we ground out a result so yeah im happy

Kudos to Williamson, Krul and Guthrie. BTW that’s the obertan we wanna see from start to the end. Way better using him as a impact sub. Big relief when he scored..

Coloccini 100% the amount of times Krul put us under pressure with his sh*te kicking and running off the line haha but he played good still bt Colo has to have man of the match… Obertan took his goal brilliantly and lets hope that makes him kick on the bigger and better things hes got it in him its just about applying himself and also about the coashing team to get it out of him consistantly

Ameobi was shocking tonight everything that went to him he lost his touch just wasnt there atall but al not mention nothing else… Ba will start with Best on sunday for me then Cisse will come on unless Bests not well

@Gorgonzola I would say the only reason Cisse would not start would be because he has not trained with the first team yet. We did see how well Shola and Ba did as a partnership at Man Utd though.

GeordieCoaster QPR played everybody upfront immediately… I reckon there is no need for Shola again rather Best really its enough now don’t you think I mean look at tonight it was truly awful to the fullest.

You can’t blame Krul too much for his bad kicking (he does need to improve though) as he was under so much pressure all night as we could’t play ourselves out of defence so it was like 30 back passes to him, and 20 of those were under pressure.

I think that Ameobi or Best are much better with Ba (or potentially Cisse). As Ba makes intelligent runs and finds space, and can hold the ball up etc.

I don’t want to see a forward line with Ameobi and Best again for a long time.

    Ba and Cisse – Yes
    Ba and Ameobi – Yes
    Ba and Best – Yes
    Cisse and Ameobi – Yes
    Cisse and Best – Yes
    Ameobi and Best – no.

Then we can always try Obertan in behind too, shows promise.

Did you get that from nufc.com?

The article in the chronicle doesn’t mention Tavernier at all. His contract does expire in the summer, but I fully expect him to get a new one.

Full back is one of those positions that you can easily promote from within for in my opinion.

The most one sided referee i have ever seen, he was an absolute disgrace. The incident for the penalty and the free kick on the edge of the box was an absolute joke. And to add insult to injury, he books Taylor hahahaha WTF. We hung on for dear life and we where a tad fortunate but i would take that every day of the week lol. Krul and Coloccini where outstanding tonight and i think Guthrie has come on leaps and bounds and we need to get this kids contract sorted asap.

Simpson for me like, couple of goal line clearances and looked steady as usual.

Sometimes easy to forget hes played in every single game for us this season and is very consistant.

    @ GT

Coolio, I thought Collo had a solid game considering the pressure we’re under. We need to give him a new deal ASAP.

But Krul took MOTM for me for the penalty save which kept us in the game.

Tavernier is the one player who will get a new deal, most of the other reserves who’s contracts up won’t
