A Newcastle Win Tomorrow Would Be Fantastic

It seems that 6’4″ center-back Mike Williamson is doing some of the interview duties today.

Mike Williamson – looking for a win against Villa

If  the lads can win the game against Aston Villa tomorrow, we’ll be on 42 points after 24 games played – and that’s a fantastic achievement.

And if we can keep that average up – we’ll collect about 66 points from the 38 league games played this season, and that was good enough for 5th place last season.

5th place gets automatic qualification for the Europa Cup,  but Newcastle would need to finish above both Arsenal and Liverpool to get to 5th place, and that’s a really hard task.

But there’s no doubt Newcastle could get the win tomorrow afternoon against a mediocre Aston Villa who are currently 9th in the league,  in a game that is being broadcast live around the world.

And a win is likely given that Newcastle will have their two top strikers – Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse – available for the first time.

Mike Williamson thinks Newcastle can win if they can play near their best:

“We know if we can play our passing game and defend like we did on Wednesday night, we’ve always got a chance whoever we’re playing.”

“We’ve got a couple of lads back for it, so that’s a good boost for the lads,”

“And hopefully we can show the same commitment we did at Blackburn, put in a good performance and end up getting a result.”

In their 19 games on the road this season Aston Villa have conceded a massive 40 goals, the third worst away goals conceded in the Premier League, and they have lost 10 of those 19 away games.

Alan Pardew is not giving anything away about what his side will be tomorrow afternoon, but we think this is the eleven he will start tomorrow – in a four four two formation

Simpson Coloccini Williamson Santon
Taylor (R) Perch Guthrie Gutierrez
Best Ba

And of course Newcastle fans will be looking forward to seeing new striker Papiss Cisse playing tomorrow in the number 9 shirt for the first time, and perhaps he can chip in with a couple of goals once he comes on. 😀

A win would be fantastic tomorrow, there’s no doubt about that.

Howay The Lads!!

Hey lads, mentioned the other day about making a song up involving pardew saying his classic “over the line”….

Came up with this, happy for people to come up with another song or change the words around this is what i came up with off the top of me noggin…

    *To tune of Happy Together*

We tried to get one or two, over the line,
Chosen by our Graham Carr, that would be fine,
Now we have Cisse & Ba, playin on the Tyne,
    So happy togetheeeeeeeeeeeeeer.

i made it up the other day and i think its quite catchy, needs a bit of tuning but the basis is there lol

Villa away record this season – played 19?

    W D L Goals for Goals Against
    3 6 2 14 15

    Only lost 2 in 11 – a solid record.

I can’t wait until we can field a full strength 11. A very capable team indeed.

With a couple of additions in the summer and providing we can keep our best players and the only way to do that is finishing in a European position, we can really be a force next season. To top that off, the Chronicle reported that Ashley will be putting aside 15 million aside to pick up the best youngsters possible from around the globe. Then we have Vuckic and Abeid pushing for first team action. The future is bright, the future is Black n White..HWTL!!!!

Yes, but Villa’s points average over the last 10 games is – 0.8. Toon – 1.3

For the season so far: Villa 1.3, Toon 1.7.

So we’re on the same form as they, but doing better overall…..it’ll be a close one!

    4-3 Toon!

    Team for Tomorrow

    ………………Ben Arfa………………

Think this would provide a very strong back with Guthrie covering at centre back and being able to spread the ball out wide to obertan and Jonas. Also Jonas and Obertan like to come inside, where they’ll find Ban Afra, give it him, for there he can play the front men through, run with it, or shoot. Also Obertan and Jonas can get back. Strongest squad available. what do you think?

nufcburty – Almost agree but would swap Ben Arfa for Perch and put Guthrie up front behind the front two.
Bring Benny (with Cisse?) on later for impact maybe in Obertan’s place.
Like I’ve continually said … please no Shola. We need to be much more mobile against Villa than we were against Blackburn.

If Shola starts many fans will be instantly depressed before the match. I hope Pardew finally realizes that he now has 2 yes 2 top class strikers upfront. I would play both Demba’s from the start but I hope is Pardew is being cautious like he usually is he doesn’t play Strolla and opts for Ba and Best or with Lovenkrands up front.

    Bring on Villa!!

It will be a close match but I suspect we’ll do just enough to nick it 2-1. I can’t wait ti see Cisse play.

Warning however don’t expect too much from Cisse though as he will need games to find his feet in the EPL.

I would certainly play the Double Demba’s up front.

There is NO jet lag involved, they have been back almost a week, they are both match fit and have only played 3 games in 2 weeks – they must be well up for a game by now!!

We have to go after Villa, keep them on the back foot from the whistle, If we pressure them we will win it and end the day in 5th place but also joint 4th!!!

Just hope they dont get vertigo being that far up the table lol
