This afternoon’s game at White Hart Lane may be the most difficult game Newcastle have through the end of the season.
Tim Krul – all pressure is on Tottenham today
And Tim Krul, who is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League this season, has said today there is no pressure on Newcastle, and it’s all on Tottenham, because they are expected to win the game today.
Tim is right, and Newcastle can go into this game and see how they match up against Tottenham, who are one of the best sides in England this season, and have an outside chance of winning the league this season.
The 23 year-old Dutch International goalkeeper had this to say today:
“There is no pressure on us.” “We have to keep this momentum going, but it is not a game we have to win.” “We will just go out there and give it a right good go.” “We have 14 finals – we know where we are at.”
“We will keep taking it week by week and keep grafting away.” “I have said it all season – we can beat anybody.” “If we are committed, and everybody goes out there and proves themselves, we can beat anybody.”
“We know it is going to be difficult, because they have fantastic players, but what momentum we have at the minute.” “It was a tight game but they showed that extra quality.” “We have to have confidence this time.”
“It is a fantastic place to go and we are looking forward to it.” “We just want to keep going.” “We are 24 games into the season and it is incredible.” “We cannot wait for the next game.”
Extra pressure could be put on Tottenham before the game, if Manchester United beat Liverpool in the early game today and Manchester City are at at Aston Villa tomorrow.
In fact, before the start of the game between Manchester United and Liverpool today, Louis Suarez acted the baby, and refused to shake hands with Patrice Evra, after both managers had said yesterday they would shake each other’s hand.
Suarez has just finished an eight match ban for racially abusing Evra during a game a few months ago.
Louis Suarez tried to avoid Evra’s hand, and Patrice tried to grab Suarez’ hand, but it was really childish behavior by the Uruguayan, and epitomizes the view that some footballers are simply immature people.
There’s too many real problems in the world today, than to have this nonsense going on by highly paid and pampered footballers.
Back to something important – we are hoping Newcastle will be near their best today, and then maybe we can get something out of the game this afternoon.
That will shock them in London. 😀
