    Indian Magpie

  • 7 Sawbuck // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:41 PM

    That’s a treble negative Injun :)

  • 8 archaeomag // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:41 PM

I’m disappointed nobody has blamed Amiobi – surely it must be his fault!

  • 9 Indian Magpie // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:41 PM

how many genuine attacking players did we have,

jonas and obertan were picked because of their defensive abilities,

    Pardew is a hypocrite

  • 10 ToonDownSouth // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:41 PM

    Indian

Come on, don’t make stupid comments like that. He’s taken us to 6th in the league.

He may be slow to make changes, yes. But don’t make sensationalist comments like that.

  • 11 Indian Magpie // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:44 PM

    some of the fans here………OMG,

i am sure you would have said the same thing when gullit dropped shearer, that manager knows best,

some of you would have praised TITUS bramble when he was here just like that pathetic lump shola ameobi

  • 12 Sawbuck // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:44 PM

Maybe Dew already accepted Spuds job. Was Lkambiased there?

  • 13 soundoid // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:46 PM

Even if we would have played 4-5-1 today we would have got beaten and some people would still be calling for Pardews head. Damned if he did damned if he didn’t.

  • 14 ToonDownSouth // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:46 PM

    Indian

All you ever seem to do is make completely ridiculous comments.

No one said the manager is always right.

  • 15 tdt // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:46 PM

We went with an attacking 442 today, got hammered. Owell, they have a bloody good team and our soft midfield couldn’t handle them.

It’s not the end of the world, we weren’t expected to get a result so I don’t care. It’s a bit like the chelsea, man c, man u run of fixtures we had earlier in the season, any points would be a bonus.

Yeah arsenal are now ahead of us, but we’re still right behind 4th/5th and still same distance ahead of sunderland!

We got beat, could be worse! we didnt get any suspensions or injuries either.

  • 16 gorgonzola // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:46 PM

    Indian Magpie,

mate it so pathetic on so many levels today…..we all though the Fulham game is the odd one out. How wrong where we.

in reality we can kiss 4th goodbye we can kiss 5th goodbye I really DOUBT we can make that its a possibility 6th I suppose…

now that Tiote and Cabaye will be back and Pardew “thinking” he will have a full squad we wont be seeing HBA for the remainder of the season mark my words an odd sub here and there… and that’s it…

I just want this year to end all of a sudden tired of seeing Perch being picked over higher talent, tired of seeing Obertan doing what he does best pretty much nothin.

Tired of Pardew bad tactics but before we jump the bandwagon of ONE game he has been outdone like plenty times this season.

    Swansea
    Norwich
    Blackburn
    Fulham
Aston Villa even we so could have been on the wrong side of that score line
Chelsea keeping R taylor up agaisnt Sturridge…. shocking decision leaving Santon benched.

  • 17 Spuggy // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:48 PM

Ok for all those being critical…tell me what you would have done differently against one of the best sides in the league with no Tiote or Cabaye??

  • 18 Barras // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:49 PM

Pardew blames himself because he had too many offensive players on the pitch?

    Is he smoking crack?

He should blame himself & Simpson, Obertan, Williamson and Perch because they shouldn’t of been picked and when they were they were awful.

The players were fearful. Why? Ben Arfa should of started and he is an offensive player so I think he’s blaming himself for the wrong reasons.

  • 19 ToonDownSouth // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:50 PM

    Spuggy

Played HBA. Then we would have won the game. Duh ;)

Pardew made a few mistakes yes, but to be honest being 2-0 down after 6 minutes, away from home against the 3rd best team in the league. Hell, I wouldn’t want to be in that position.

  • 20 toonruz // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:51 PM

pardew is not good enough to take nufc on to the next level , yes he done well to get us where we are now time to ship him out and go for some body better if he played h ben arfa on the left he would of gave spurs something to worry about

  • 21 Indian Magpie // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:54 PM

My Q is, is Perch better than Gosling, perch played in midfield against blackburn we were poor, against villa we were lucky that we had i good and 1 great goal

  • 22 nufc mad man // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:54 PM

those blaming it on pardews tactics well tell me this what if we went 4-5-1 lost would you have accepted the fact pardew left cisse on the bench.
if HBA was starting instead of obatan would you have accepted the fact that our Right side would be so vunerable.

  • 23 archaeomag // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:54 PM

    Indian [& others] you are being a bit of a troll – I was much more disappointed to loose to Fulham & Norwich, {& Brighton}
Spurs are way ahead of us and probably could have beaten anyone today – get a grip – I seem to remember we got relegated recently or was that just a bad dream.

  • 24 ToonDownSouth // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:54 PM

    Barras

I would say he means the mistake was playing 4-4-2

  • 25 gorgonzola // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:55 PM

    Spuggy

    Me?

Firstly I KNEW with a midfield like Kranjcar and Modric Perch would be suicidal.

The game unfortunately for Pardew was up 5 minutes it as it was 2:0 and having Perchy there spelled doom.

Definitively start with HBA why hell we could have lost but could have scored a goal maybe we played a cover-up 442 wich in reality is a 4 3 (Perch) 2 No midfield dead meat friend…

I know Keegan was slated and I cant speak much of his return spell, but I think best football to play at NUFC is fire with fire or attack football….containment was NEVER out atrribute, unless you want to purchase entire Italian Seria A defence or Paraguay for example.

I would start there play a passing game and if you look carefully at the top sides…they play FAST attacking football….our midfield and wings are not fast in all honesty….. I miss that style of football simple fast pass football….

  • 26 ToonDownSouth // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:56 PM

    Indian

Gosling has shown absolutely nothing every time he has played. That’s a bizarre comment. Everyone was saying Perch had been playing well the last few games – everyone.

  • 27 gorgonzola // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:57 PM

those blaming it on pardews tactics well tell me this what if we went 4-5-1 lost would you have accepted the fact pardew left cisse on the bench.
if HBA was starting instead of obatan would you have accepted the fact that our Right side would be so vunerable.

NO cause I would move Santon to RB today cause of Bale and have a better cover for HBA….But us critics KNOW our RB is below par but so it our CB…and our midfield is on song only when Tiote and Cabaye are on it if they have a bad one we usually collapse which we do….

  • 28 Indian Magpie // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:58 PM

Pardew says he picked 2 many attacking players, well apart from this side he would have picked any more defensive players, we would not have had ant threat at all.

Perch simpsom ferguson and santon all could have played as full backs 2 CDs, jonas almost a wingbck, pardew you are a hypocrie

  • 29 gorgonzola // Feb 11, 2012 at 8:58 PM

    Barras

“Pardew blames himself because he had too many offensive players on the pitch?

    Is he smoking crack?”

EXACTLY it was 0 offensive shows the man has NO CLUE where it went wrong….what he is saying he should have had a 4 6 0 field we would loose 10:0 then.

  • 30 ToonDownSouth // Feb 11, 2012 at 9:00 PM

I really do wonder if any of you have ever been to a game in your lives.

Or even played a game. Or watched one.

Yes we were bad, yes Pardew made some bad calls.

But honestly, some of the rubbish you’re spouting here… Embarassing…

  • 31 will // Feb 11, 2012 at 9:02 PM

Some of the moaner are totally irrational!

Hey, compare the two squad, is it any surprise we should be the underdog? compare the league position and points, are we suddenly champions league contender now?

This kind of reaction is what makes Newcastle a joke to other clubs’ fans! Always demanding, no matter what kind of squad we have or situation the club is in.

At the beginging of the season, how many here are saying we will be relegated? so since that didn’t happened, you guys just jump at the first chance to pour out all the rubbish you kept in your chest? Give ppl credit for God’s sake! If we maintain top 6 posisiton at the end of the season, Pardew should be nominated as the manager of the year, given the kind of squad he has and the constraint he has.

Cheer up ppl! Being negative is just not benificial to anyone!

  • 32 archaeomag // Feb 11, 2012 at 9:02 PM

    Gorgonzola;
Have to agree with much of what you say.
It was disappointing to see Spur at 4:0 up still pressing the ball harder than us.
Apart from Ben Arfa what could Pardew do the change it up, he already had our two best strikers on the pitch, and our strongest minded midfielders.

  • 33 gorgonzola // Feb 11, 2012 at 9:02 PM

Like I said the timing for Europe is just not on. The players are not good enough for me… We are still a veeeeeeeerrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyy paper thin squad.

What could have happened to day is Colo to get a knock then what? We didn’t have the backup CB we are looking down the mid table….

In fairness this was a good coming down to earth, Pardew is pulling the blame it on me card, which I have no doubt is correct as he WAS wrong but the players can do only so much the obvious weaknesses in our squad are

    RB
    CB
    RW
    LW

  • 34 Jan Stavik // Feb 11, 2012 at 9:03 PM

Shocking display. How is it possible to be beaten by counter attacks from Spurs away from home?!!! Naive tactics from Pards, but there are more games coming up. We’d loose to Spurs anyway without Tiote and Cabaye.

  • 35 archaeomag // Feb 11, 2012 at 9:04 PM

    Gorgonzola
“Pardew blames himself because he had too many offensive players on the pitch?
he may have meant one too many – Obertan?

  • 36 gorgonzola // Feb 11, 2012 at 9:04 PM

“Apart from Ben Arfa what could Pardew do the change it up, he already had our two best strikers on the pitch, and our strongest minded midfielders.”

I honestly doubt that Abeid or Vuckic, whom I think should have stayed and be loaned next season as we are weak as hell this season, are WORSE OFF than Perch….So play either on of them midfield and have HBA wing with SANTON RB cause of Bale, hell we could have lost 9:0 or 3:0 or we might have atleast play some ATTACK…

  • 37 cally22001 // Feb 11, 2012 at 9:05 PM

Yes Pardew is terrible isn’t he? I mean we’ve gone from relegation candidates to Champions League contenders, one point behind Chelsea and Arsenal and 3 ahead of Liverpool despite of him imagine where we’d be without him. let’s just sack him eh?

    Moronic really it is.

  • 38 nufc mad man // Feb 11, 2012 at 9:06 PM

    TDS
good to see someone who thinks in the long term some people get too hyper over certain things rather than going in depth of how we have done long term.

  • 39 Indian Magpie // Feb 11, 2012 at 9:07 PM

    cally22001

we have avoided relegation let us now concede last 13 games and go home

  • 40 gorgonzola // Feb 11, 2012 at 9:08 PM

    “Gorgonzola
“Pardew blames himself because he had too many offensive players on the pitch?
he may have meant one too many – Obertan?”

Obertan was offensive as was Perch a striker today m8 common he was out of sorts….they totally outplayed us I agree, but we gave it to them.

Instead of focus it was the close my eyes passes, we don’t possess a quality of a top 4 side fullstop its ok.

Not yet anyhow, but I know I will be slated for what I am about to say Aderbayor costs cause he costs you cant sub him with the likes of Obertan…. if you catch my drift…

  • 41 Spuggy // Feb 11, 2012 at 9:08 PM

    Gorg….

At last post I agree with …. spot on.

The squad is not good enough yet or europe, we have little depth of quality.

HBA would have not made a difference today (perhaps a consolation goal), but he would have been bullied all over the park.

  • 42 toonpanda18 // Feb 11, 2012 at 9:08 PM

Look here everyone, we were terrible and we all knew the outcome would be a loss. But we were missing 4 top players who really would of made a difference not to the result but it may of been more like 2-1 loss instead. I think we should have a dimond of tiote, Guthrie cabaye and benny with two demba’s upfront and learn to pass the ball well. Oh and by the way how good were the toon fans today??!

  • 43 gorgonzola // Feb 11, 2012 at 9:10 PM

    “Moronic really it is.”

Yeah moronic indeed, and what is more moronic is having blind faith in a manager that has little tactical influence also…

  • 44 Sawbuck // Feb 11, 2012 at 9:11 PM

London hoodoo is back. These slumpings are really unprofessional.

  • 45 archaeomag // Feb 11, 2012 at 9:12 PM

    Gorgonzola
I think that is an age thing, [they did OK in preseason], the problem with attacking players they concede possession and Pardew likes him team to control the ball as much as possible.
He might be right it gives us the best chance of winning or the only way to win with our squad on a game by game basis; we have Obertan – they had Baile. It is not AP fault.

  • 46 nufc mad man // Feb 11, 2012 at 9:12 PM

    indian
toon fans should be the happiest of the top 7 team right now so how you can be so negative i don’t know

  • 47 gorgonzola // Feb 11, 2012 at 9:15 PM

    archaeomag

fair comment mate, but Perch lost so many balls today it was hideous to watch and Obertan was well…Obertan…

  • 48 cally22001 // Feb 11, 2012 at 9:18 PM

Is that a joke? You believe Pardew has no tactical influence at all? D u think we have fluked this season then. No tactical awareness. I think he has earned some trust. He has taken a team to the top 6 that includes Guthrie Williamson Best or Ameobi and Ryan Taylor. You have to be doing something seriously right. With those players we will have off days, you should expect that. To jump on someone’s back after a poor result given the fantastic season we are having is indeed moronic and short sighted. Appreciate how well he are doing. We haven’t had it this good in 6 years with an inferior squad man for man.

  • 49 cally22001 // Feb 11, 2012 at 9:24 PM

As another example of short sightedness of some so called fans on this blog someone posted that Colo should be sold. idiot.

We were beaten by a better team and we were found out. cabaye and Tiote are back next game. Everyone relax. It is this rubbish that has lead to 10 managers in 10years. And how has that worked out for us?

  • 50 jamesnufc86 // Feb 11, 2012 at 9:29 PM

Ha ha some of you on here are going to bed with a razor blade tonight. Lots of folk are stress heeds, it was one match in which we got destroyed , lets move on, fast forward it on MOTD and watch the sunderland players hearts break in slow motion . That should provide a little relief

  • 51 oo aa demba ba // Feb 12, 2012 at 8:14 AM

Right let’s get one thing straight, regardless of thr longer term and yes we are fantastically overachieving but that was a disgusting performance. Going to an in form team 3rd in yhe league was always going to be difficult but the I was bitterly disappointed with the lack of heart and effort. That’s the point I’m most bothered about, a hammering was always a possibility and we got one, let’s learn from it and move on (although I hoped they had learned theory lesson from the fulham match)
