A seemingly upbeat Alan Pardew will have the lads all in for training next Monday morning to prepare for the next two games, which are both at home and are important to the side.
Alan Pardew – upbeat comments today
6 points against Wolves and local rivals Sunderland and we should continue to be high up in the Premier League, and Newcastle could shock a lot of people this season, including ourselves. 😀
It’s just a terrific position to be in the league – 6th top and one point behind Arsenal and Chelsea, who are hardly playing anywhere neat to their best form.
And Newcastle should almost be back to full strength against Wolves as Yohan Cabaye, Cheick Tiote and Ryan Taylor will all be back in training on Tyneside.
This is what manager Alan Pardew had to say to the local press today:
“We’ll be ready to go again next week – we’ve got 13 cup finals between now and the end of the season,”
“I’ve given the players the weekend off. They’ll rest and do what they’ve got to do, and Papiss Cisse will be able to bring a few more clothes to Newcastle!”
“We’ll regroup on Monday ahead of two very, very important fixtures. We’ve got Wolves, and then we’ve got the derby.”
“The mood in the camp’s very much one of putting the Spurs game behind us. I’ve every confidence we’ll do that.” “We’ll have Cheick, Yohan and Ryan back for Wolves – they’re three very important players.”
“Ryan will train on Monday. He’s had a fantastic season so far, and I’m sure he’ll carry that form on to the end of the season.”
The team for the Wolves game is likely to be a strong one, and we think this is the eleven Alan will start with against 3rd bottom of the table Wolves:
Simpson Coloccini Williamson Santon
Taylor (R) Cabaye Tiote Gutierrez
That’s a strong side and if we can get the win at home to Wolves – we won 4-1 in the same fixture last year – then we’ll be very handily placed in the league before we have to take on local rivals Sunderland at home on 4th March.
Howay The Lads!!
