It seems that Cheick Tiote has returned to Newcastle with renewed vigor and determination.
Alan Pardew – has full squad to choose from on Saturday
That’s the word coming out of the Benton training grounds today, and maybe it’s because Cheick is back where he now considers home, and he has already said it’s great to be back among his friends on Tyneside.
But the Ivory Coast International has also been full of energy on the training field, and of course this man brings so much energy and drive to the Newcastle midfield when he plays.
And he cost £3.5M from FC Twente – an unbelievably great buy for Newcastle.
Alan Pardew is trying to put the Spurs hiring behind the team, but he admits it was hard to take, and certainly it’s been difficult waiting so long for the next game after losing 5-0.
But the good news is Alan will have all his players to choose from on Saturday for the important game against Wolves, all players except long term injurer causalities Steven Taylor, Sylvain Marveux and Leon Best.
And Tiote has been nicknamed Mr. T by his team-mates after the character in the 1980s TV series, and because of the new hair-do Cheick has been sporting this year
Mr. T and Cheick Tiote
It’s not only that Cheick Tiote is back on Saturday but so will Ryan Taylor and Yohan Cabaye be available on Saturday, so Alan Pardew can name a very strong side against 3rd bottom Wolves.
Pardew told the local Newcastle press today that he has a good squad to pick from:
“Now I have my strongest squad to pick from since Man United.”
“We have come through the period without our iconic players, with some fantastic results.”
“That’s where we are, we are hurt but we’re still in a great position. We’re looking forward.”
It’s good to have all our players back and available again, and now we need a strong performance from the lads, if only to make up for the disaster at Tottenham.
And we’ve almost forgotten about that game in London 11 days ago, almost.
Comments welcome.

Comment #3With all the travelling he has to do just as well he does not share Mr T’s fear of flying 🙂
I feel we are due to give somebody a hiding – hoping it is Wolves or the Mackems (or better still both of them).

Comment #10i like tiote , i think he gets unfaire critisim on here at times , some games he is his normal brilliant self but at least you can still see him running his heart out for the club
and out of all of our players that could walk into any team he in my eyes is the prize, top fella
just read the is this why they wont sign piece,
there are only to types of footballer now, ones that want to win things and one that want money, sure 90% of players will give there all for the club that pays there wages, but we all know its not the players that make things happen, its there agents,, and thats a sad fact, ba s agent gets 2 million for a ba move, hmmmm lets move him regular until someone pays him crazy wages,
can i also say that if you where a ba or a cabaye krul, and you where playing with perch obertan willamson simpson in your team knowing full well that these are the difference between you getting a basic pay and bonus for winning things, i know i wouldnt be happy being let down week after week ,
plus on the simpson offer, take him out of the team, he is stalling because he is playing and he thinks the club need him, santon right back ferg laft back, show him we have options

Comment #17Off topic I know but I’ve been researching some of our old Academy/Reserve players, those who never really made it at Newcastle. A lot of people on here are shocked that players like Tamas Kadar and Phil Airey aren’t getting new contracts but it’s very rare we let players of any real quality leave:
James Troisi – Currently playing for Kayserispor
Joe Kendrick – Mansfield town
Stuart Elliot – Bedlington Terriers
Tomi Ameobi – Grindovik
James Coppinger – Doncaster
Martin Brittain – Gateshead
Carl Finnigan – Dundee
Wesley Ngo Baheng – Currently without a club
Frank Wiafe Danquah – Waasland-Beveren
Calvin Zola – Burton Albion
Richard Offiong – Johor FA
Dylan Hughes – Makedonikos
Daryl Smylie – Jonkopings Sodra
Brian Kerr – Arbroath
I could carry on but I think you get the point, players that we release don’t often go on to have success at the top level.

Comment #20We are expecting to be challenging for the top 4 in the toughest league in the world.
How many youngsters could we reasonable expect to come through to 1st team? Even one a year would be good.
With the new policy, I would hope for 2, even 3, per year as it seems we are looking for a higher standard.
I reckon a few of those to be released would have been kept on for a year or two if we weren’t looking to seriously improve the standard.

Comment #22The club should be funding Wallsend Boys Club and tap back into the talent of the area.
The talent that went through that club and drifted away from the game was a travesty!
I packed it up because I had no bus fare and my mother banned me from cycling from Benton to Wallsend. How many other kids are in this position.

Comment #23Toon-Barmy @ 17 – Doesn’t that say more about the quality of players we have below the first team?
The new moves to invest in money to improve the quality overall of our youth academy with players from all over the globe has to be applauded.

Comment #26Toon Barmy : great piece of research. i do agreed with you.
I think on average one or two youngsters will break in the first team every year.
