Yohan Cabaye, Cheick Tiote And Ryan Taylor All Start

As expected Newcastle’s three returning players Yohan Cabaye, Cheick Tiote and Ryan Taylor are all back in the starting line-up this afternoon, for Newcastle’s game at home to Wolves.

As expected Ryan Taylor is preferred to Ben Arfa and Gabby Obertan on the right wing, and Cabaye and Tiote return to the side in central midfield at the expense of Danny Guthrie and James Perch, who are both on the bench.

Even after the 5-0 hammering last time out,  the back five is again unchanged, and they will get a chance this afternoon to show it was just a blip in London a couple of weeks ago.

The bench is a strong one with  Rob Elliot, Shane Ferguson, James Perch, Danny Guthrie, Gabriel Obertan, Hatem Ben Arfa, Shola Ameobi.

And we expect Alan Pardew to use all three substitutes allowed his afternoon,  which is vital game for the Magpies, if  we are going to get back on track after two five goal hammerings in our last four league games.

Newcastle need to somehow get all 3 points this afternoon, and that’s what we are hoping for, and anything less will be a disappointment.

Howay The Lads!!

Teams:

Newcastle (4-4-2): Tim Krul; Danny Simpson, Mike Williamson, Fabricio Coloccini (c), Davide Santon; Ryan Taylor, Cheick Tiote, Yohan Cabaye, Jonas Gutierrez; Papiss Cisse, Demba Ba
Substitutes: Rob Elliot, Shane Ferguson, James Perch, Danny Guthrie, Gabriel Obertan, Hatem Ben Arfa, Shola Ameobi

Wolves (4-5-1): Wayne Hennessey; Ronald Zubar, Christophe Berra, Richard Stearman, Stephen Ward; Kevin Foley, Karl Henry, David Edwards, Jamie O’Hara, Matt Jarvis; Kevin Doyle
Substitutes: Dorus De Vries, Jody Craddock, Roger Johnson, Nenad Milijas, Stephen Hunt, Michael Kightly, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake

No surprice in that line up.
For me it is the 4th time in a row I got Pardews starting line up, spot on.. Only change i would make myself is Benny for Raylor.. A game like this, i think Simmo can take care of himself.. But.. In Pardew i trust!

    3-0 today..
    Howay the lads…
    Links??

We must remember that HBA is coming back from a career-threatening injury. He needs time to gradually get back up to speed. There’s no point throwing him in all the time until he’s ready, otherwise he’ll look crap and loss confidence in himself.

Hope he comes on after 60 mins and dominates.

    Facepalm indeed @1

Lads why can’t we drop the HBA debate. It would be relevant if we were fighting relegation and not playing him but we are flying in the league without him! Do you guys not see the risk of unsettling a winning side by putting him into the team? Once the team that Pards wants to build really takes shape then I think we will see HBA come good, let’s all just show a bit of patience and enjoy the team showing some good stuff in the here and now! 😀

I think we will win today, but I’m disappointed there’s not a start for Hatem Ben Arfa again, I really am. I feel that Simpson should of lost his place for Ryan Taylor. Nevertheless, I hope Simpson and Ryan Taylor both have great games. Simpson split up from his wife/girlfriend the other day apparently, I hope that doesn’t have an affect on his performance, poor guy.

somebody seriously thought Ben arfa would start? 45 mins maximum. probably 25-30 though. as long as he shows what he’s capable of a few games in a row he’ll begin to start. as it stands he has 1 good game followed by 3 crap or anonymous ones

The problem with HBA is this, he scored that amazing goal against the Toffees, then was out for 12 months+, since then that form he once showed has yet to return, and people are getting frustrated. He needs more match time and to be played in the right position to get “it” back

Fair one Indian but surely the results are more important than the performance. I would rather win without HBA than loose with him wouldn’t you. Not that i’m saying playing HBA means we will instantley loose 😉 ( I actually like him)

Let’s just trust in Pardew handling HBA.
If it’s something the man knows, it’s how to handle players.
He’s shown that through Perch and Guthrie.

Some of us on here like both Benny as a player and Pardew as a manager.. It isn’t either/or.

Neither are perfect but both are with the Toon. That should be enough for us to support both, and hope we get the best from both of them.

No player is bigger than the team and no manager is bigger than the club (possibly excepting SAF ?)

I am interested whether you would support the club regardless. Many people from foreign countries only support clubs because of certain players. I was wondering if you only support Nufc because of HBA due to this fixation you have with him and whether you would still support the club if he was moved on
