@steve
Wow I honestly have a lot of sympathy for you right now, that is such bad luck considering we were 2-0 up at home after 20 minutes.
@ (Everyone who replied to my comment)
I’m glad to see you all take that stance after those comments from Pardew that’s why I wanted to post his quotes, I think its shocking, that is a defeatist attitude.
I think we have done brilliantly to be 6th this season, and I think Pardew has done a superb job, but at the minute were declining rather than improving. So either Pardew changes his management style, and first 11 selection. Or we desperately need to change management before its too late.

just got in from the match and for me ben arfa is playing out of position , he needs to be playing on the left and jonas on the right , and prdew tactics are wrong again

pardew not prdew

Haha agreed! They ruined my accumulator today as well but I only put small ones on for small returns (£30-60 returns). Plus That accumulator would of failed anyway. I have another one running at the minute though, and its doing well 4/8 teams have already won. I think you should send that straight Williamson rather than Pardew pahaahah.

Were at a vital point in the season and the result next week will tip the scales big time. Win and I am sure we will kick on to Europa Cup. Draw and we will most likely end up 7th, closer to 8th than Euro. Lose and I fear the worst, low morale and some tough games mean we could go a few games without a win.
15 davybtoon // Feb 25, 2012 at 5:54 PM
Well. That was crap Simpson n Williamson r not good enough, pardew needs to drop Simpson ASAP for rtaylor switch jonas to the ryt n hba on the left 3 simple changes sort it

I’m not sure Raylor would do any better to be honest. Our defence is just dreadful. Williamson, in my opinion, just isn’t top half standard.
I did think Santon was fantastic today, both in attack and defence. Made a brilliant run in behind the fullback and got wrongly judged offside at one point.
25 AussieToon // Feb 25, 2012 at 5:56 PM
We need to have a team that can play 433 and adapt to 451 and 343 when the time needs.
We need a better right back, better right mid and left mid.
………………KRUL
______ COLLO _______ SANTON
……CABAYE TIOTE ________
….BEN ARFA BA CISSE
Then we need a manager that can enforce this to the players. Instruct Krul to play the ball out from defense and NEVER bomb forward that gives possession to the opposition.
At home, we have the ball, we pass, we move, we attack. If we start to get pinned back we drop more numbers into the midfield and hold possession for 3 – 5 minutes, swing momentum and tempo back with us, then launch again.
We look at teams like Wolves and say we will try and win 5 nil. If we score early we maintain the rage and keep at them. Teams like that crumble under pressure. They do not have the skill or guile to respond.
Unfortunetly most supporters on here think having a go at Pardew is jsut for the sake of it and think I take enjoyment out of it. Unfortunetly I have seen football from all over the world. I may be born in Australia yet I have travelled the world watching football and have a coaching licence. I see the Bundesliga as a very enjoyable league, and think tactics engrained by the Dutch should be utilised more in England. Here in Australia, it is starting too. No longer do we hire England hoof ball managers, our juniors right through play a more continental style.
We want Newcastle to play Europe? First get in a manager who understands what Europe will be like.

Shit performance and this is a team pushing for europe please be serious. Willamson and simpson you two need to just piss off. I am getting so frustrated with these performances what was that everytime these breaks come we need another few weeks to get back into routine!! people pay good money to watch the game fans all over the world wait to watch their team. from what i heard of sunderland today pardews tactics could work just score a goal then park the bus because sundeadland were always sitting back so maybe we won’t have to worry about cenceding but one thing is for sure it won’t be a 5-1 win it will either be a 1-0 win or 3-1 loss

I am unhappy with the name change, of course, I have only known it as SJP and thats what it will always be to me and every other fan.
The representation of “death” of it is what I do not agree with. It never dies. It is in all of us and will be back when Ashley leaves. Its part of city, and will be forever. I think this show with the coffin was embarrassing and to me, made little point and represented the wromng thing.
You want to make a statement, why not a massive tifo inside the ground with SJP Forever and get 50,000 fans involved?
Make a positive change, not a negative one.
That said, I am not overly against it, jsut stating my opinion.

Toonruz… Cisse came off holding his hamstring. Demba ba looked injured from the start of the second half, tiote was holding his hamstring, cabaye looked unfit. Ben arfa and santon were our only players that looked like creating/ scoring in the second half. All of the goals were lucky today, jonas scores 1 out of 100 of those shots and the rest were deflections and lucky bounces. What exactly does ryan taylor do when hes playing right wing? We cant play with two wingers who like to be defenders more than attackers, atleast one of them has to be willing to keep up with the strikers to offer support. Cisse, colo, tiote and santon were the only players that showed up today. Ben arfa was the only player that looked like he wanted to win the game. He has to start soon, our team lacks pace and creativity when we play raylor, cabaye, tiote and jonas. Tiote, jonas and taylor all think the halfway line is were they stop, tiote i can understand hes a dm but why both wingers aswel?

54 sula // Feb 25, 2012 at 6:18 PM
Another thing aswell can you please stop the long balls by Krul dam is that the only way we will ever play boring football and get these guys to learn how to pass the ball and move into spaces basic stuff. They look so lost when they have the ball. Would like to see them move the ball on the carpet look at Swansea come on AP its not that hard you have the quality man use it instead of hoofing that ball from Krul everytime. I dont care what anybody says if we are not careful we wont even finish in the top half of the table and dont be surprised if that happens. You can sit and defend the players all you want the truth is the truth they are playing shit football and have been very lucky with alot of results and that is the truth. I bleed black and white and we have the potential but how many games does it take to see which players need to play where. All the fans can see the problem is the defence and with some creativity we can be such an attacking side. Somebody mentioned st james park being very quiet today any guessing why shit football and always worrying about teams coming back against us.

Pardew’s Interview…
57 ellington09 // Feb 25, 2012 at 6:20 PM
It’s been a good season so far but Pardew is starting to tick me off! His team selections are so predictable that teams now set up to neutralise us. He lacks a plan B when things are not working and his post match interviews ticks me off even more. As lazy as Shola is today was a game for him to start with Ba and get him ready for the scum next week as he will deffo start.
Cisse and Ba won hardly any headers against the wolves defence and as we play hoof ball we were always gonna get put on the back foot.
Williamson is a weak link along with Simpson in the defence all the wolves attacks were down the right hand side in fact all season teams exploit that flank id go as far as saying id prefer perch to partner Colo.
Going forward Pardew needs to switch Santon to the right as he aint got a left foot and play young Fergie at left back. Every time he’s played he’s done a good job plus he can put in a quality ball, this will also add some balance to the team as two right footers down the left makes no sense and that’s why we are struggling. R. Taylor is better with his left foot than Santon so at the start of the season it wasn’t too bad.
With regards to Ben Arfa he has to play how is he gonna get used to the hustle and bustle of the league we have a squad full of continental players yet play english tatics it doesn’t take a genius to work out why we aint getting the best out of our better players. Pardew should give Ben Arfa the next 5 games starting whether he plays great or crap like he did with Obertan then we can judge him properly. As many fans say he’s trying too hard in the 20mins he gets as he wants to do something special to make sure he’s in the team the following week. If he knows he’s going to start the next 5 games regardless he’ll be able to relax and flow.
My suggested team for the rest of the season is….
Krul
Santon Williamson Collocini Fergerson
Tiote
Cabaye Jonas
Ben Arfa Demba Ba
Cisse
Get the ball on the floor pass and move play good attacking football. If only Pardew has the balls to do it!! Change is needed!!
58 ToonDownSouth // Feb 25, 2012 at 6:20 PM
Indian
Like a 4-2-3-1, with HBA in the middle of the 3. That would look nice.
Problem for me is that our wide players just don’t contribute enough, both in goals and assists.
That was Jonas’ third goal all season, and he’s played almost every single minute! And I’m not sure if he has a single assist?
59 Marty-Toon // Feb 25, 2012 at 6:21 PM
Can’t blame AP apart for the timing of the subs
If you put on pro players onto the field as a sub then you expect them to have kicked a ball a few times to team mates in training and expect them to have some sort of football brains
You’d expect that they could play a ball to each other and not put teammates under pressure all the time.
We looked like school boys
Very very disappointed.
How did AP not see when were getting overrun in the middle that he shoulda gone with 5 he coulda put Guthrie alongside Tiote fergie and Rayls on the wing with Hba in front of them with BA up top
Bloody useless display,we were pathetic- not Exaggurating
We have been lucky with some results this year and the results of the others around us but we have been found out big time
Were not as good as our position shows
60 King Panth // Feb 25, 2012 at 6:21 PM
We need to get the wings sorted out. Ba and Cisse need quality delivery in from wide. Maybe trying Ferguson at LW for the Sunderland game might be the answer, he is skillfull and has good delivery. The only worry would be it might be too big a game to throw him in. Something needs done because we cant have a repeat of today next weekend.
61 west-ldn magpie // Feb 25, 2012 at 6:22 PM
Santon was class today, can’t remember him getting beaten, unlike that other garbage Simpson. Everytime Simpson gets the ball he boots forward without thinking, finds it hard to play simple passes.I’ve heard enough of him,he’s not a premier league player…
62 SurefootedShola // Feb 25, 2012 at 6:23 PM
Very little substance beneath Pardew’s veneer, worryingly devoid of style too!
Brendan Rogers would be perfect for NUFC.
63 steve // Feb 25, 2012 at 6:23 PM
TDS – I agree with you regarding our wingers. Seems a bit too obvious but why not play a right footer on the right and a lefty on the left. Swap Jonas and HBA then they dont have to cut inside every time we get down the wing. Slows our attack down and gives defenders time to mark up in the box.

When Jonas got the ball, he delay like 10-15 seconds and in the end lose the ball
We need a normal winger. someone who can cross as a starter
70 nufc mad man // Feb 25, 2012 at 6:27 PM
the reason for that brutoon is because pardew being an addict he should stop playing simpson and start playing raylor also jonas right footed LW HBA left footed RW should they not swap then you can cover the weak right side while the left side can get lots of attacking football
71 MagpiesFlyHigh // Feb 25, 2012 at 6:28 PM
If it’s only Krul hoofing it then the oproblem is easily solved. When the back four hoof it just to clear the lines when under pressure iot’s going to come straight back at them as we’ll tend to lose possession. Even Colo does that. More coaching needed – but it also highlights the necessity to improve the back four – they really are not up to the job esp without Saylor putting himself on the line. No coincidence his injury been followed by poor defence form.
72 JDdubai // Feb 25, 2012 at 6:28 PM
Santon MOM by a mile, we were out passed by Wolves ffs. Cant play at home with Raylor and simmo on the same side, offers nothing. Guthrie should be alongside Tiote as well, has done more than Cabaye this season and runs the game when cabaye has been suspended.
We didnt deserve to be 2-0 up, gunna take much better than this next week or we’ll be in trouble.
Team vs Mackems:
Krul
Santon-Willo(sadly)-Colo-Fergie
Jonas-Tiote-Guthrie-HBA
Ba-Cisse.
Never guna happen but never mind ey, just play long ball why not………
73 steve // Feb 25, 2012 at 6:29 PM

Sooner or later, we need to drop Jonas.
Bring HBA and Obertan as real winger
78 sula // Feb 25, 2012 at 6:33 PM
magpiesflyhigh- i agree with you about the defenders i swear when i was watching i was even saying here comes the hoof and they disnt disappoint. The defenders just cant move the ball on the ground thats something AP should be taking care of though i mean come whats the point of sending that ball up for it to come back and then start the cycle all over again. Cabaye was hardly used in the centre.

I think everyone is COol here… Got to admit that AP is playing these kind of game.
Qus by bloggr?
….Why we are not playing more passing and triangles. Why the team is not holding the ball and pushing forward?
We want wins, but we also want quality, why is that bad at home?
ANS: Ask AP
2. “Maybe” we really dnt have quality player that can pass well.. Hold the ball & push forward.
3. Because we are lacking of attacking option.? (That what he said when HBA ws sitting on the bench at Spurs, 4-0 down@half -time)
On HBA
HBA wasnt playing too badly.
SomePeople, do you know what is like when someone spoilt the game and you got to come on and fix it in a short time where you hardly had any chance to try before youself?
Lost e BALL?
Just want to tell the “people” because he take on the oppisite team and sees that he got a chance.. And Simpson wasnt G.Johnson or P.Evara, or even Rafael & Fabio. (These RB can link up well with HBA, it will be excting to watch. But AP dnt like exectiment, too bad)
Ps: Sometime do agree that due to RB shortage Rtylor is best to player in the position. He knows whats a simple pass is. A simple can be very dangerous when’s its in the hand of a right person at a right position.
btw..did anyone saw how Rtaylor tried hard but still messy up right infront of goal mouth? …Give that ball to Owen.
Conti…
Ben Arfar got to do it all, because he know that Simpson just cant get past any player and dont look out for “RWinger” to pass. BALL’s PUMPING was his instruction?
Simpson
1. Do you need video to see how when a pass was given to Simpson and he was in a geat position to bring the ball in/forward and he choose to pump in to the Wolf players waiting in the box.
And we got counter and have to start all over again?
2. Ben Arfar was in surch good position and waitin and asking for the ball but again, as we all know well, what Simpson will do when the ball is at his feet. ..PUMP!)
(Rtylor Game was ok)
In the game Rtylor lost the ball as well.. common… and what worst was that he didnt even take on any players, what do you say then?
Again, like in SUPRS game when we were 3-0 down, half-time 4-0 down AP did nothing. And was just waiting for the scoreline to change? – Later, saying that “NO Attacking Oprion”. Wasnt Ben Arfar there?
3-0 down (Wenger, AlexFger, Mouri, RodHodson(WBA), MarkH(QPR) Martin Jol, ) These are the manager will do something and not let it rot further.
Manager &..Their Attitude & Style
..So what, it wasnt even half-time? My team totally cant cope already now, change got to happen and the sooner the better.
Today Game Alan Pardew
So again, this remind AP of a few games pattern, again we are losting the midfield and the game thou 2-1 up,
AP waited and hesitate! 70mins (66mins) two sub after a good discussion with no2. He manage to push AP for a change?
We manage to be 2-0 up because we got finisher. Right?
From the start of the second half we are already losting the game. RIGHT?
Be frank to yourself. How many times did we touch the ball at the start of the 2nd half before the sub. (Infact after we have score our 2nd goal, wolf was ald controlling the game more often the not..the Stats show as well…)
In football every mins counts and what keep you waitin, its your style and attitude
Base On the situation Today
WBA, Swarm, etc, was also controlling the game when we play them. (Yes, we might argue that we are above them like they said..luck even out, all of a sudden we are at 6 which we shldnt, and Arsenal 1 game in hand)
…what..we needed Arsenal miss it?
We have just blew it in short but overall for the sick of the “non-motivated” “fan” we are still ok at 6 and not reglated.
Just hope that these “fan” move their laddler up a Step by the Next season. Or we might never ever reach our peak during my life time.
..Harry Redh (Spurs) was another manager that i have miss out..on the manager list that makes fast decision on the situation itself.

The word donkey gets thrown around alot these days…but Willo fits it perfectly. And yes, that ruined my bet-slip. I have never gone into a Newcastle game so confident,i honestly couldnt see us getting anything other than a win. Also instead of bringing on HBA to chase/rescue the situation, thereby increasing pressure on him and forcing him to “try to hard”,why not start him then haul him off to protect a lead? He’d play with less pressure and we’d have an extra goal threat.

Willo never has been a premiership defender , jonas as much as he works hard , he is not a winger that deliver early crosses like Ginola, Robert. Dribbles too much without often any end product and his goal return is not good enough. If he was English my guess he would’ve been shipped out a while ago.
Pardew has done a great job and if he had a better quality RB and CB we would have more points .

i finally manage to choose btw :-
1. Goalline clearence or
2. a “Simple pass”
99 davis_toons // Feb 25, 2012 at 7:15 PM
Willo never has been a premiership defender. ..True
But
In our situation, he is ald e best we have got. Still keep good faith in him but really like to see him on the bench while we get in quality CD.
As we knew all along Colo just cant jump/ dont jump at cross. Avoid or shy away from “hot shots” there rest was oright ..

davis
that is the thing, pardew need to learn if you are so poor in defence then you should try getting 4 or 5 goals not 1 or 2 that was why the great bobby robson got us champions league even though our defence was so poor we attacked even chris hughton was better with getting us to attack.
102 davis_toons // Feb 25, 2012 at 8:50 PM
Yes, true to attack is to score goals. but of course we should also know when to stop as well.
