Magpies’ Transfer Target – Newcastle Are A Fantastic Club

French reports have had Stade  Reims midfielder Romain Amalfitano linked with Newcastle for a summer transfer as a free agent.

Romain Amalfitano 22 year-old Reims midfielder linked with Newcastle

The news first broke about a week ago when it was claimed that 22 year-old Amalfitano would be signing a three year deal with Newcastle, when his contract runs out in the summer.

But it turns out there are other clubs who are interested in the attacking midfielder, and no agreement has yet been reached with Newcastle, and that’s according to the player himself, so you would expect that to be true.

Romain does admit it would be great to play in England, and he thinks Newcastle are a fantastic club, as he said this today to Sky Sports:

“I am a Reims player and I will be out of contract at the end of the season,”  “I want to finish this season strongly.”

“Newcastle are a fantastic club and to play for them would be a dream come true, but nothing is done as yet. Let’s wait and see what happens.”

Newcastle scour Europe looking for players who are good enough, and can be brought to Newcastle in bargain deals, and therefore free agents every summer are of special interest.

Newcastle brought the Frenchman Mehdi Abeid to Newcastle last summer, when his contract ran out at Lens, and Romain would be on a similar deal.

But it does look like reports that the Newcastle club have already offered the 5’9″ Nice-born midfielder a three year deal are not true. Not yet anyway.

i’m obssesed with Cristian Pasquato hehhehe.
I think he will a great player, hopefully ours.
I think he will cost about 4.5m – 5.5m, 22 years old, great with free kicks, great technical player and playmaker for Juventus, currently on loan at Torino

If this lad is half as good as his brother we will have got a good player! Think someones leaving in the summer, my bet would be tiote because if Guthrie signs, and we sign Amalfitano who at 22/23 is at a stage where he’ll want games and we are really strongly linked with Benjamin Corgnet too, thats a lot of centre midfielders to add to gosling, cabaye, tiote and Perch!

I don’t think Tiote is leaving, my bet is HBA or Jonas.

I don’t think we’re looking to cash in on either Tiote or Cabaye, but there is no assurance in football.

I think there is a chance Guthrie won’t get a new contract and maybe Gosling will be moved on.

I don’t see HBA leaving; well the next 12 games will shine a light on it I guess.

Maybe both Juve and Torino own him; isn’t there some rule in Italy where two club can both own a player?

    I don’t know I am just speculating 🙂 lol

have we offered him a contract or is either his agent or himself fishing for other offers perhaps he should be reminded that he is only a second division player and at 22 yrs old will he improve. i notice that manu have given a couple of their players an ulimation on signing new contracts perhaps collo and simmo should be told the same

If we want a player from Ligue 2 to develop, who has bags of potential, then Eden Hazard’s younger brother Thorgen at Lens is a great option!

Is,nt it just typical that there are reports on here that a deal has already been done for the player!!!!!

This is not the case, however and he may end going elsewhere!
After the Bryan Ruiz saga not so long ago i have learnt to believe transfers when they happen and not hope that they will happen months before!!!!!

Forget HBA staying everyone his idea is to play modern creative football.

Pardew is too old fashioned with his direct long ball philosophy.

They will never see eye to eye although for a so called difficult character at least Arfa has been patient and tried to adapt.

It would appear that this player is playing the same game with his contract as Collicini is with us and Liverpool !
