Papiss Cisse has passed his fitness test and will start for Newcastle in today’s Tyne-Wear derby against Sunderland at St. James’ Park.
The team is unchanged from that which started last week against Wolves, but could only get a 2-2 draw.
And Newcastle have a very strong bench – Rob Elliot, James Perch, Danny Guthrie, Gabriel Obertan, Hatem Ben Arfa, Peter Lovenkrands, Shola Ameobi – and we expect Shola Ameobi and Ben Arfa to get some playing time some time during the second half.
Sunderland manager Martin O’Neill has recalled Nicklas Bendtner up front to partner the dangerous Stephane Sessegnon and Phil Bardsley is fit and starts at right back.
This is a game Newcastle must win and cannot lose, and we need the three points so we can get up to joint 5th place in the Premier League table and also do the double over Sunderland of course.
Howay The Lads – get the job done!!
Teams:
Newcastle United (4-4-2): Krul; Simpson, Williamson, Coloccini (c),Santon; Taylor (R), Cabaye, Tiote, Gutierrez; Cisse, Ba
Substitutes: Elliot, Perch, Guthrie,Obertan, Ben Arfa, Lovenkrands, Ameobi (Sh)
Sunderland Mignolet, Bardsley, Richardson, O’Shea, Turner, Larsson, McClean, Cattermole (C), Gardner, Sessegnon, Bendtner.
Subs: Gordon, Bridge, Campbell, Kilgallon, Colback, Vaughan, Meyler.

Comment #114We should stop looking for the challenges and just keep running with the players, stop with the… what is the name of it, to throw ourselves on the other player and just pressure them while standing.
Let them do that and get more yellows. Tiote, Simmo, going crazy.
