News from talkSPORT today that Newcastle are in a three-way fight to sign Napoli’s Blerim Dzemaili this summer.
Blerim Džemaili – Napoli central midfielder
The 25 year-old central midfielder was born in Tetovo in the old Yugoslavia, and he was signed by Napoli only last summer from Parma, and the 5’11” player has 15 caps for Switzerland.
The transfer fee was reported as €9M, which is around £7.5M with today’s exchange rate, so if Newcastle are indeed to sign this player they will have to pay out some decent money.
The right footed player was at Bolton from 2007 through 2009, but didn’t do well at all and ion 2009 he moved to Italian club Torino , after being on loan there the previous season, and he stayed at the Italian club for a year before moving to Napoli.
German clubs Borussia Monchengladbach and Stuttgart are also said to be interested in the midfielder, who has helped Napoli be successful in the European Champions League.
Napoli hold a 3-1 lead over Chelsea in the first leg of the round of the last sixteen, with the second leg being played next week.
Dzemaili is contracted to Napoli until 2015 but Newcastle are reported to bid decent money for the player in the summer, and it would take around £8M for Newcastle to get this player, who turns 26 next month.
Dzemaili has appeared 28 times for Napoli this season, including six games in the Champions League, and he has two goals and two assists.
Džemaili’s family come from Bogovinje and are of Albanian heritage, and when he was just four years old, his family migrated to Zürich in Switzerland.

i agree in a way with our defence so limited but why he can’t try 4-5-1 dropping cisse and raylor replace with guthrie, HBA or 4-3-3 dropping simpson jonas for HBA and guthrie/obatan i don’t know

Comment #165as much as perch is rubbish after the way willo has looked last two games i although it won’t happen i would say perch could be better starting than willo because atleast he puts an effort in and would have likely scored that goal

Comment #178Sorry guys but with our current form we’ll be lucky to make 15 pts out of the 33 max.
We’ll probably end up drawing games we should win and losing the odd game we should draw.
If I was an optimist I’d see us getting over the 60 pt line. As long as we’re above the binndippers I’ll be happy(ish).
Another important thing is I’d love us to have a decent positive goal difference

a few good players on there but not many that would get in our first team…
i dont believe in buying squad players. i think we buy to better our first team…then current first teamers drop out and become back up/squad players

your right a few squad players there i added them in so we have a strong squad instead of have no strong options on the bench just in case we get into europe but there is definatly at least 12 players that would walk into our team no problem i watch a lot of german and dutch football as i find it more enjoyable to watch then la liga and to me italian football is anti-football its a joke. german football is very strong these days and should not be underestimated.
some of these players i have been watching for years so i know they are not flash in the pans and would definatly make it in the prem.
a list of who would definatly walk into our team or is better than what we have already
vertoghen
Alderweireld
mertens
ayew
john
diame
clyne
toivonen
barnetta
leon
harnik
beck
reus
hoilett
i put all those names so that they are known to everybody and they can google/research and have a look and hear there opinion on the lesser known players and see what they think about them i am sure a few people must have espn so it would be good that the next time there is a dutch/german match that they take an intrest and expand there football knowledge to just outside the prem and the normal major leagues maybe the german guy who posts on here can give his opinion on some of the players that play in the german league
